Ordered takeout from Red Ginger. Cream cheese wontons Sesame chicken Jalapeño beef The cream cheese wontons were still solid in the middle. The sesame chicken was bitter with (burnt) garlic, way too much garlic, not really the "sweet sauce" as advertised. The jalapeño beef was like no other jalapeño beef I have ever had. It was basically 7 roughly chopped jalapeños, 1 onion, and a little bit of beef in beef gravy. It tasted more like a Philly cheese steak than any Chinese food I've had. Even the rice was not good. The white rice was like the left over rice around the rim of a rice cooker, that dry crispy rice. The fried rice was undercooked hard rice. Overall just not impressed at all. So China up the street is a hell of a lot better and almost 1/2 the price. read more

This is a good Chinese Cuisine restaurant. My daughter and I tried it because we wanted a sit down dining experience. We had Mongolian Beef and Teriyaki Chicken Lunch Specials. The Good: First off let me say the service was excellent. Prompt and constantly checked to make sure we didn't need anything else. The Egg Drop/Flower Soup was also very good, as was my daughter's Teriyaki Chicken. The Lo Mein was Also very good. The Bad: The Mongolian Beef was very salty, my daughter got a Shirley Temple that tasted like it was made with soda water and little or no grenadine. The food is average. We ordered the orange chicken, vegetable lo mein, crab rangoons, spring rolls, and egg drop soup. The orange chicken lacked flavor and the breading was too soft. The chicken mainly tasted like whatever cooking oil it was cooked in versus any seasoning. The lo mein was generous with the vegetables but is clearly cooked in or around other items as the noodles tasted very fishy. That may not bother other people but it was not expected. The Mongolian beef was salty, the Salmon teriyaki was dry and fried rice was very bland. The fried rice had no vegetables, no protein, and barely any egg. We had always driven by and wondered so we stopped in Saturday early evening (around 5:30). The staff were very friendly and very busy. I got the impression they were short staffed. The cheese filled won tons were good. The salt and pepper calamari was over cooked and chewy. Tangerine salad was not good. It was iceberg lettuce with canned tangerines that were mushy. We have eaten at and ordered from Red Ginger for 15 years and have never once been disappointed until now. We ordered delivery this week and every dish was awful. The pad Thai wasn't even made with pad Thai noodles like it usually is. It was more like soggy thin spaghetti. It was absolute mush! The sesame chicken was so dry and tasted like day-old battered chicken that had been fried again. The Mongolian beef was like beef jerky it was so dry. This is not the food we have loved and ordered for 15 years. I don't know if they have new owners or if it's just new kitchen staff. Either way the food was not up to Red Ginger standards. We usually enjoy the leftovers the next day but this time we just threw it all in the bin. Something is definitely off with them now. If you just need a different flavor, and don't feel like cooking dinner, then this isn't a bad choice. Absolutely great food and service! The Indonesian Rice is absolutely excellent, be sure to get the extra egg because everyone will want some. The fried tofu, egg rolls and cream cheese wontons are a perfect appetizer because everyone will love them. Great service but overall middle grade quality food. We visited red Ginger restaurant on a Tuesday late afternoon before the early dinner rush. The service was great, the food was MSG filled and fresh but unfortunately the quality of meat was lacking. I got the beef and broccoli which was tasty but a bit too salty and my boyfriend got the sesame chicken which was basically orange chicken with sesame seeds on top. For a side of rice he chose fried which was very plain and flavorless. The restaurant setting itself is a bit upscale so if you're dressed down you might feel underdressed and the houses did look at my Nike chanclas funky lol . I used to come here a lot but it's been some time with busy life etc. we came today and Ordered vegetable egg rolls, Mongolian beef, lo mein and fried rice. Egg rolls- tasty Lo mein- super soggy absolutely no flavor. Mongolian beef- decent but the sauce tasted Like pot roast beef sauce- no garlic no ginger no seasonings. Just salt and sauce. I ordered the egg flower soup which I have gotten before. It was good and all, but when stirring around, I found a large piece of egg with multiple spots of mold in it. My appetite was gone. The soup was delicious, but seeing that in my soup made me concerned for the sanitation in the BOH and the freshness of their products. It's usually about 15-20 minutes which is perfect because it's just enough time for me to get there. I have yet to dine in but red ginger makes the perfect pair to any Netflix movie. Oh and let me not forget the best part! They serve in portions to share. Family style if you will. My boyfriend and I usually order two dishes and the lo mein and have enough for work the next day! Red Ginger is good ole comfort Chinese food. They have several options on their menu to choose from. The decor is very nice inside. Its got black and dark red colors. It's not a huge restaurant but big enough to serve a good amount of people at once. The service is always fair. The girls are quick to greet you and visit the table often. Tonight are service was especially good I feel. When our courses were brought out the waitress dished them on to our plates which I did not remember. They always box up your left overs for you too. I had the seasame chicken which was very crispy and flavorful. My husband had shrimp lo mein which also tasted good. We shared some wonton soup that hit the spot on this rainy/cold day. We found our favorite take out. The food is so fresh and it reminds us of a place we used to go in our childhood hometown. The staff are very sweet and friendly too. Where to go with this review. Have you had an experience where you didn't feel like writing a review. I mean it was ok food but not the best, it was a good experience but it wasn't awesome or dreadfully horrible. Sadly, and I say sadly because I love passing on amazing spots to go to or warnings for the worst of the worst but...sadly there is nothing that I can really say that will allow this place to stand out. So ill try.... Staff... very friendly, offered water while I waited for my take out. Top notch and nothing to complain about so WTG. Food...well it isn't the best I had, nor the worst, and it definitely wasn't the cheapest either. The rice was good, our beef teriyaki was ok, the steamed dumplings were just so so but that could be because of the drive home. I'm not far but it is a good 15 min away. My wife wasn't wowed by her cashew shrimp but she ate it. (that's important because if she didn't eat it well... it would be a 2 or 1 star review.) I mean it was just an avg Chinese take out. Yelp...I wish we could give half stars because this is a solid 3.5 place. However due to the slightly more expensive price, and that there are two decent places near my house I regretfully have to take it back to 3 instead of rounding up to 4. My husband brought me some Wor Wonton soup from here yesterday along with some egg rolls since I am sick. The soup was very good, on par with what I have usually gotten with Chinese take out. My only complaint is that the picture on their website showed that it had shrimp in it but my soup did not contain any shrimp.. but oh well. But man those egg rolls were amazing!
