For the record I've been ordering delivery from Red Ginger for about seven years now. Every order was consistent and delicious. On Christmas Day we decided to eat in the restaurant. Upon arrival we sat right down. Maybe 25% full around noon. The young lady that waited on us was very nice and polite. We started with Wor Wonton soup. It wasn't the best I've ever had but it was good. Entrees were very good. We had the General Chows chicken, Kung Pao combo and a funchun noodle dish. All were delicious. We also had the sesame balls for dessert. I reccomend all of these dishes. They do have thier tea in pots. I like that. Reccomend the green tea. The restaurant was clean and smelled good. My boyfriend had been craving Red Ginger for several weeks and we finally made it! This is my second time having it, the first time was take out so I was excited to try it fresh. The place is clean, which made me happy. The prices were good, just under $10 for a lunch meal. I got the orange chicken with a sweet and sour soup. He got a spicy shrimp meal with egg drop soup. The service was quick, it was pretty empty. I found his egg drop soup to be pretty bland. My sweet and sour was a bit better. When our plate came they were played beautifully! The rices were cooked perfectly. My orange chicken was INCREDIBLE. The crispness was just how I like it and great flavor. His shrimp dish had no flavor to it, even with extra sauce and chili oil. Regular customers but food not good last couple visits, Cashew chicken was gross. No vegies just so called chicken in a gel stirred up and it tasted worse than it looked with a few cashews thrown in. Rinsed all the gel off and fed it to my dogs. The sweet and sour chicken was fair with a good portion but the sauce was not good. Not many vegies there either. Won't be back for at least a month. Hope it gets better as it used to be pretty good. read more

Some parts of the chicken in their chicken fried rice was rotten. They are the only company that puts meaningful pieces of chicken in their fried rice. I got sick and threw up the contents. I just don't understand why profit should beat health and humanity standards. Their food tastes good but they need to do better for safety and health. read more

This place is AMAZING!! my family and I love coming here, and ordering their takeout. They have GREAT lunch specials. so much food and its so tasty. I live in Carlsbad now and legit will crave the food here and request to eat here when I come visit my parents. We even ordered takeout here on Christmas, it'll probably be a new tradition because it was amazing, came pretty quickly and everyone was stuffed. Came in for lunch, happy to find the lunch menu was reasonably priced. Had the Spicy Shrimp plate with lo mien, came with egg rolls, Wonton soup had good flavor and plenty of veggies and shrimp. The food here is very consistent and delicious. We love the salt and pepper wings, chicken corn chowder and the foil-wrapped chicken appetizers. These 3 are "must haves" whenever we dine there. Then we'll pick our entrees. They have a lamb dish for anyone that likes lamb like me. It is delicious and very tender. So far we have not had anything that we didn't like, I would tell you if there is so you don't have to waste your time on it. When you die here, it's a great experience, the servers are quick, friendly, and even put the food on everyone's plates. They even pack your leftovers to-go. Been coming back for years and it's always been pleasant and enjoyable. The place is always clean, it's feels nice and quiet, different than any other Chinese restaurants. I picked up lunch here yesterday for my mom and I. She recommended them as her favorite Chinese restaurant since it's convenient to my parents and she likes their food. Of course Mom was right. We got Wor Won Ton Soup, Lemon Chicken, and Chicken Lo Mein. I used the Yelp app to place the order which was easy to do; I like how it gives you a time frame for pick-up. I arrived at the restaurant during that period and our food was ready and waiting. Once I got home and my mom un-boxed everything, I was quite satisfied with the portions and taste. The food at Red Ginger is always delicious! I have been coming to this restaurant since it opened!

We have been coming here for years and love their food. There's been a few changes like in the seating and decor and it's really lovely there. We go for lunch and leave happy. We just wish they still gave you a pot of tea instead of a cup with a bag in it. I get the shrimp with vegetables lunch and my husband mixes it up each time we go, which is often. The "red" in Red Ginger stands for "stop". As in stop, turn around, and go somewhere else. Five friends and I all bought some take out. Sweet and sour pork, sesame chicken, kung pao delight, house fried rice, pork fried rice, cream cheese wontons, and something else. Hands down the worst kung pao I've ever had the displeasure of putting in my mouth. Raw garlic, not kung pao sauce. The sesame chicken wasn't sesame--it was mushroom chicken with sesame seeds on top. The best thing from all the foods was the smell. Smelled like a 5 star restaurant, tasted like a 1 star dive. Why 2 stars, then? Because the "something else" we got was fine. I wish I could remember what it was. No matter what it was though, it wasn't memorable enough to go back. My $160 bill was, though. read more

1st visit. Food was okay. Had the crispy spicy beef. Wasn't very crispy. Meat was of a poor quality which is sadly a common thing in California I've noticed since living here. I've only found one Chinese place in Bonsall with decent, higher quality beef. Not good when your beef is so chewy you must eventually just spit it out. :( I've been waiting over 20 mins for someone to check on me and get my check. We have been here twice. The first was on Christmas eve. They were so busy that I can't complain about the mistakes to our order. The second was this week when we got the lunch specials for takeout. We got the spicy garlic chicken and kung pao beef, no peanuts. Both were excellent, and between the two dishes, my daughter and I were able to eat lunch, dinner and lunch the next day. I've been dining here for over 10yrs. Service is always great and the food never disappoints! Even when they're packed, it's always a pleasant experience. My PORTUGUESE GRANDMA was born in Macau China in 1899... I took her to every Chinese restaurant around South Los Angeles until she passed in 1986. She would have LOVED THIS PLACE. The manager was first class and we ordered 2 X Dinners B Orange Chicken and Mongolian Beef - superbly delicious... My grandfather meet her in Shanghai in 1920 she knew 10 languages then - ,must be good Catholic schools in Macau! He also loved Chinese food took his sheriff's juries in Los Angeles to the Lime House Chinese Restaurant - where I also took my Marshal's juries 40 years later. This place was good, I have a meetup group, and we love going out to eat! I noticed this place just in passing, and the name stood out to me Red Ginger, so I decided to schedule a meetup there. It was around noon on a Saturday. The place was pretty empty. The service was very good. The server did a nice job of keeping everyone happy. The food was decent, your average Asian joint. It's just mediocre, I tried this place once when I first lived in Temecula, it was just ok and got the usual "single diner" (it's ok most place s don't like single diners ) I've moved back and got take out. Got hot and sour soup and crispy spicy beef. Soup really didn't have much of a tang neither particularly hot or sour but passable . Beef was not crispy or spicy but it was takeout so maybe it's more crust in house. Sauce was too sweet and not much fire .
