Here's our spread.....wine, crackers and dip.

we decided to go check out some local wineries the sunday before labor day. we figured they might have stuff going on. there's not alot of signage to get you there, you go down back roads, passed some older, small homes, past farm land. you'll know you're there when you pass the big sign in a yard that says-my neighbor is a karen! then there's a clearing of grass with a big sign & their name on it. go up the hill. it's a big space, indoor & outdoor. plenty of parking. the inside was sort of set up as if a wedding was there. it's set up beautifully for a wooden building. you come into the sales area 1st. taste, buy, get food. from there, you go thru the "reception" area which had tables if you want to stay inside, to the outdoor space. there's a covered pavilion, another patio next it, then tables & chairs around the perimeter. they really don't have lot of food. pretzels, crackers, some dips. it all does come from the strip at least. you are allowed to bring in your own food too. so, we tried some of the wines. we are straight red wine, the thicker, the better! even the dry wines were sort of sweet & light, but we got a bottle of the cabernet reserve with 2 plastic glasses on top, and a bag of the crackers & the asiago cheese dip. we were given a basket with the crackers, the cheese, a spoon in the dip & some napkins. everything you need! from there, we headed outside as they had a band playing in the pavilion. the band was pretty good! the 80's, 90's. we found a table & chairs with an umbrella. it made for a very nice afternoon. after we finished our bottle, we were on our way to the next winery. they have a nice list of wines, but they're all pretty much sweet & light. the facility itself was clean. you can rent the building or even the pavilion. it was a nice little jaunt. the music was a bonus.

I am a sucker for a good winery and this one checks all the boxes! First, the beautiful scenery. Driving up the winding lane, you'll see cute one-room cabins for guests to stay at on the property. Each one is named after a different wine. Across the lane is a gorgeous fountain and landscaping with a couple benches to sit at. As you keep going, you'll see some old rustic tractors and train cars adding decor to the area. Everything is so well kept and beautiful. Entering in the winery, you'll walk in to the tasting area. You can taste for free but you have to make a purchase. I tasted a couple but finally settled on a semi dry blush wine called summer lovin. And I definitely loved it. They also have food options for snacks and apps but you are also allowed to bring your own! Once you have your purchase, make your way down the steps to the entertainment area. They have live bands playing quite often (usually on sundays) but what impressed me the most way the layout of this area. It would be perfect for the rustic barnlike wedding!!! I came on a rainy day and it was a perfect way to enjoy a bottle, hear some music, and get out of the house! It is in the middle of nowhere, but it's worth the drive and you will have service there as well!

I attending an event here this past weekend. The only reason I rated it four out of five is because I didn't experience everything at the venue (for example the food). However, what I did experience was top notch. The grounds and space was absolutely gorgeous. There were so many places for great photo oops. The wine was delicious. The servers were friendly and attentive. The indoor spaces and outdoor spaces were clean and well kept. This place is a hidden tucked away gem. Great for a date night or girls trip. I would highly recommend.

Super cute winery! Offering a Christmas Pop Up bar with decor floor to ceiling! An awesome Tinsel Town drink menu and serving beer and wine. Highly suggest checking them out!

We were out on a wine tour and were recommended to come here. It was not in our route, but glad we stopped. To start you drive up a long driveway with some cabins (they do rent them) and a nice little pond. You get to the top and there is a beautifully redone caboose, fire truck and antique car. The property is rolling and nice. You enter and there is a nicely done bar area with wood top bar. There is also a big event area but we did not enter there. Service was friendly and their wines are good.

Beautiful Winery! As soon as you turn into the entrance, it's ahhhhh! Wine tasting and selections all were delicious! Tough to choose just one kind of wine to take home. Outdoor seating is relaxing. We saw cabins on the way in, not sure how that works yet, but a possible romantic getaway ;) . Graduation party while we are here, a nice area to rent for special events.

This place was purchased 2 years ago and redone. It just opened up in January 2018. The place is amazing. They have lots of great wine to try. They also have cottages that allow you to stay near the winery. This place is now open. It's a great place to visit in the country.

As I sit here sipping their delicious Red Fox Red I find myself wondering where the other 5 stars are because I give them a 10! This is a great combination of amenities for a winery. Cabins to stay in, absolutely fantastic decor making the entire place visually appealing and wonderful wines to taste, buy and drink in house or take home. The only improvement I could think for them to make is a full kitchen. Currently they offer various meats, cheeses and crackers as well as some prepackaged hoagies which give you something to snack on. A full kitchen with a small menu would make this a single stop for a perfect date night or weekend getaway to the beautiful countryside. Really great job Red Fox Winery on making a fantastic destination that any wine lover can thoroughly enjoy!

A Hidden Gem Brewing with Heart and Hops in Toledo, OH…read more We were about 30 minutes southwest of Toledo on April 5, 2025, when we decided to check out a local brewery we'd heard great things about--and we're so glad we did. From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed like longtime friends. I had the pleasure of chatting with Lisa Bauman, who owns the brewery with her husband, Mike. Both are proud Toledo natives. Mike, a retired police officer and military veteran, has been brewing beer for over 30 years--and it shows. What started as a dream became reality in July 2023 when they opened the brewery after completely transforming what used to be a dentist's office (yep, you'd never guess!). They bought the building in 2021 and spent years renovating, building on, and navigating the complicated web of licensing. Lisa mentioned the TTB was manageable, but Ohio's state licensing was a different story. Still, their passion, grit, and commitment carried them through, and the result is a beautiful space pouring even better beer. Now let's talk about the beer--because WOW. We kicked things off with a sampler and were seriously impressed: River Rat IPA (6%) - A juicy hazy IPA brewed with locally grown malt, Zythos and Azacca hops. It's got citrus and tropical notes, but with a softer, smoother body than your typical hazy. Super drinkable and fresh. Red "Knight" Ale (6.75%) - This red ale has a great depth of flavor. Notes of caramel and raisin from a mix of malts (some local) make it rich without being too heavy. Balanced and satisfying. Happy Pillzzzzzzz (6.69%) - An Imperial Pilsner that lives up to its clever name. It's a classic German-style pils with a crisper profile, slight sweetness, and smooth malt finish. Dangerously easy to sip. Meg B's Blue Light Special (5.5%) - A blueberry ale that completely surprised me. I'm not usually into fruity beers, but this one was smooth, not overly sweet, and incredibly well done. A total standout in its category. Then came the big winner: I was planning on getting a glass of the hazy, but Lisa offered a taste of their Scottish ale, and--damn. It blew me away. Tipsy Kilt (7.75%) - A Scottish-style "wee heavy" ale that instantly became my favorite of the night. It's rich, malty, with just the right amount of sweetness, brewed with English malts and hops. The name is as perfect as the pour. This brewery is the real deal--from the quality of the beer to the story behind it. Lisa and Mike have created something truly special here. It's not just about hops and barley--it's about community, dedication, and a whole lot of heart. If you're anywhere near Toledo, make the trip. This place deserves to be on your beer bucket list. Cheers to the Baumans and everything they've built--can't wait to come back!

Every table was taken as were most seats at the bar. Someone was hosting a birthday party and had pizza brought in from an outside establishment. The beer menu was expansive and included a few seltzers. The consensus from the group was that these are heavy hitters! The ABV seems low because after a couple, you're definitely feeling it. The staff were friendly. You really get the small town feel here, as most of the bar staff knew the patrons on a personal level. The bathroom was clean and I loved the Christmas decor they had up! Prices were fair for the quality and alcohol content. They also have flights of 4 5-oz pours for $10.
