This place was great. We did the U - Boat. The staff did a good job explaining everything in the room. The room felt like being in a Submarine. Every clue lead to another great surprise. There was like 4 rooms total which made it more fun because we had to go back and forward to solve the codes. Overall, a great time

Red Fox had been my absolute favorite escape/puzzle room experience to date. I've done all 3 rooms and each of them are unique in the ways they challenge, with the puzzle types varying from room to room while keeping themes to tie them all together. The GM's here are EXCELLENT at their roles, and I want to particularly shout out Xander and David. They are on another level of fun & bonding with their groups- my friend & I are the "passenger princesses" of the escape rooms and Xander was so kindly chatting with us thru the screen while we were a bit useless to the UBoat mission. David was incredibly helpful while also letting my boyfriend and I get to conclusions ourselves. He was also super fun with joking with us through the screen & really made our time special! My boyfriend loved our experience & said it was his favorite he's ever done. I adore RF and if you're looking for somewhere that puts their heart & soul into their craft, look no further!

I'm obsessed with this place! My friends and I have completed all three rooms and are patiently waiting for them to finish their next construction! If you like to do escape room for a challenge, select the UBOAT. If you're looking to do one that has a lot of puzzles for big groups or just to split up and not work on the same thing select The Heist. If you're looking for a really interesting story, select The Body Shop. Every room is super fun and interactive! Each has unique twists and surprises that Id hate to spoil here I've been to so many escape rooms and this one is definitely a place I'd recommend!

Our friends have been here before so they knew exactly where to go. This location is in a complex with other businesses and its in the back of the building. There are quite a few different game options and time slots to choose from. We chose the Bomb Squad game. A bomb is hidden in the city and time is ticking. Our mission was to find the bomb and defuse it before it's too late. All of their rooms are private so when we booked a game, it's just us and our team with no strangers. It was easy to book and pay for our room online. When we arrived, they showed us where the bathrooms were down the hallway in the building. The lobby is pretty simple with a few seats and a description of the game rooms. We were then escorted to our room. The rules were explained to us by our game master and then the 60 minute timer started. The puzzles required team building, communication skills, problem-solving and critical thinking abilities. We escaped with 5 minutes and 45 seconds left. It was a lot of fun. The game master gave us helpful hints to keep us progressing through the game. We can't wait to come back and try another room.

On the bright side, the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. But overall, a thumbs down…read moreexperience compared to the 20+ rooms I have done at other places in the area. This seemed like more of a low-budget, amateur place compared to the others. We did 20,000 leagues and I was shocked when I walked into the room because it looked like a file room with a couple of wall decorations. You didn't get the feeling you were trapped miles under the sea. The puzzles were tedious (including having to do math and read a map with tiny print) and not intuitive. Some of the puzzles, such as the math puzzle had "run rules" that you needed to know (and could only find out by asking for a hint) in order to solve it. There were way too many combination lock/open the box puzzles. Other places have things like chessboards where you need to put the pieces in the right place, books that you need to pull out in the right order, etc. This room had only a couple of non-lock puzzles. It was also just a single room, so no secret doors or passages. The staffer was in the room with us, which was odd and took away from the experience. This is definitely not a room I would do with kids because there's no way they would be able to solve 95% of the puzzles. Also not a place I would do as my first escape room, as it may turn you off from doing one again.

Review of "The Grimm Escape (Virtual Puzzle Game)"…read more I can't rate this puzzle game experience on the same scale I would have pre-COVID19 and won't comment specifically on the value for experience given how critical it is to support local businesses. Given the circumstances, I think The Grimm Escape and other virtual puzzle games are a great pivot for Puzzle Break and I'm grateful that they are able to provide virtual experiences at a time when so many of us could use a momentary escape from reality. Pros: -Up to 12 players with a minimum of 3 players (note that this doesn't mean 12 computers with multiple players on each computer--price is $25 per player) -Unlimited hints -Really nice and helpful staff (thanks, Eytan!)  -I like the PB virtual puzzle concept more than the other avenue some escape game companies are going (remotely directing a gamemaster through an actual escape room) because hopefully in the future we'll be able to do escape rooms ourselves again and I wouldn't want to miss out on the experience Cons: -It is noted as a 90 minute experience, but this is only a 60 minute timed puzzle experience. The rest of the time seems to be budgeted for explanation/prep.  -My group has done a number of escape rooms, so it may have affected our experience, but many of the initial puzzles seemed easy while the last few were much more complex/confusing, with no mid-range puzzles to adjust to the escalation. The ability to get hints/confirm guesses became very helpful for us toward the end! I look forward to trying PB's usual in-person experience in the future!

There was no clock present at all! And we learned, after we escaped, that they have additional puzzles they add if players are getting through the puzzles quickly. Because it's story centered, they want you to get from point A to point B, but the puzzles were still difficult enough to be satisfying. The production value was fantastic - a lot of attention to light and sound design and a beautiful set and props. It was a great atmosphere to lose yourself in for an hour. Bravo. I don't live that close to Salem, but kind of hope my friends will want to organize to try the other room. Other less important stuff: Though they don't have their own lot, they are located on a public pay lot. They are about a 10 minute walking distance from the downtown witchy area of Salem. There is a Starbucks next door which can be convenient for meeting up before and debriefing after. Check them out - a really great experience.

We did "The Heist" (which I think is one of their easier rooms) with a group of 8 people--7 adults and one kiddo. The rooms themselves are really elaborate and I was surprised by how advanced all the tech was. There were so many different kinds of creative puzzles, and they were challenging enough to keep us on our toes but not so difficult that it got frustrating. You get as many hints as you need, with no penalty for using them. Your guide watches via camera and jumps in to help as needed, but we only ended up needing one minor hint the whole time. We finished in about 45 minutes of the available hour. I think a big part of that was having a bunch of grown ups in the room, it might be difficult for an all-kid crew, but maybe that's where the hints come in! I noticed that on the website some of the rooms (particularly during busy times) are "Shared" games, so if you don't want to be paired with strangers, make sure you fill your whole game! The person running our game was so nice (I think his name is Anthony!), making sure we understood how everything worked and joking around with us before and after we finished. All in all we had a great time, I would 100% come back!

Actually, we extended the finish to do another room the very next day! I have a few key proprieties in game rooms, plus a new one on this occasion- can they accommodate a wheelchair? And the staff were so easy to communicate with in advance to help me find 2 separate options that were kid-friendly and wheelchair accessible to the point that the person in the chair could actually solve clues. It was heart meltingly wonderful. The games themselves- gold rush and timeliner- were unique and fun. There were options to work separately on several clues, but it was still somewhat consequential. I would say if half the group wasn't under 16 it would be meh to have 8 people. We finished in 45/60 minutes both times. Game runners really make an escape room experience and, particularly in our first room, the person was fantastic. There's someone watching you the whole time and can offer clues as needed (no penalty!) which subtly move you to the next step. Someone in my group asked if there was a scoresheet and while there isn't meant to be, our game runner just made one up and it was hilarious. They gave our youngest player a little stuffie since it was his birthday and wow. So above and beyond. Highly recommend and can't wait to go back with all adults for the more sophisticated-themed rooms.
