This review is based on the birthday party package which I booked to celebrate my kiddo's birthday. I must say that everything regarding information for booking was pretty straightforward (24 children guests for two hours ) and you can pay for an additional hour or additional children. I was allotted 15 minutes prior to my party to set up although I don't feel like 15 minutes is enough. I signed up for one lesson and 24hours later, they hit me with four additional sessions, $180 total, without any warning. Their site and confirmation email made zero mention of "auto‑enrollment." I clicked "SignUp" believing I paid for a single class, there was no checkbox, no bold notice--just a tiny hyperlink buried in fine print that I failed to notice until after they'd already charged me. That's pure bait‑and‑switch. When I demanded an immediate refund for the extra lessons I never knowingly ordered, they refused. Instead, they dumped "credits" into my account, locking $180 in useless tokens I never asked for. They even scheduled me for a class, then canceled it themselves, and STILL refused any cash refund. Their policy? Automatic enrollment...no apology, no empathy, no real attempt to fix the mess they created. Goldfish Braintree treats parents like walking ATMs, assuming you'll never catch their hidden fees. They cancel classes at will, refuse to give refunds, and force you to use worthless "credits" just so they can keep your money hostage. Their customer‐service reps all recite the same script: "It's our policy." Don't be fooled by their cute branding and colorful ads. They're a textbook scam operation. Be warned: sign up here at your own risk, because once they have your card on file, they'll charge you dry and laugh in your face. My son attends lessons at Goldfish Swim School Braintree since March 2022. He was comfortable in the water prior to coming to the swim school, however, he now know more technique. My son looks forward to moving up in levels and the reward of ribbons from the swim school helps. He has move up four times since being at the school. The staff appear young, however, they are always professional, patient, and kind. The establishment is always clean and the staff are friendly and efficient. There is structure to the lesson which makes transition smooth. Following lessons there is a wait for changing rooms. The school is currently adding three changing rooms which is excellent. The cost is $132 a month for weekly lessons. read more

Back at it again, no response or follow up on my previous review which I find interesting as I read through other responses. Updated experience after a year. I will say I have visited other locations and found the staff and the operation much more efficient. I'm saddened that this location is the closer to me because it's truly disheartening to experience this level of service in a family setting. Don't get me wrong there are good staff member at this location but there bad is bad. To management we are living in time where you will deal with people of all races. Training your staff. For younger children (6-18month), the staff is great, but the program is more of a introduction to being comfortable in water -- not rescue swim. And make-up tokens are useless. We missed a number of classes due to illness and you can't use them unless you have an active membership (which is an automatic weekly enrollment) meaning you have to be able to go 2x in a week to use them. With my 12 month old and working full time, this is just not feasible. So they are a complete and total waste which is not made clear up front in my opinion. Beware if you don't have the flexibility to go multiple times a week to use make-ups -- and if you want true rescue swim for infant-toddler, this is not it. read more

I have 2 children in swim lessons, and they started here a couple months ago. We are very happy with the facilities and the teachers! My little one was scared of the water, screaming through the whole lesson and clinging to me at the beginning. Now she is excited to go to lessons and will be graduating out of the parent & child lessons to swim on her own next month! My older child had already taken beginner lessons elsewhere, so she is improving a lot and already doing the crawl. As a busy parent, I especially appreciate that they have a lot of available lesson times so both my children can be in class at the same time. They also allow makeup lessons with zero hassle, and do fun events like trick or treating at Halloween. Overall a great facility for families!! read more

I'm giving this swim school two stars; 1 for the facility and 1 for the staff. The people that worked there were very sweet and promising. This review is for anyone looking into their Private lessons. I'll start with the instructors- they are young. That threw me for a loop at first because it's basically children teaching children, but i saw it through. I have a set of 3 year old twins. One on the spectrum and the other is just terrified of water. So I signed them up for the Golden Learners private class. My first complaint was there was only one instructor for two kids. I had to play the private lesson cost x2, so rightfully so I would expect two instructors. I was promised two at sign up but never received the second one. My second complaint; it felt like an overpriced splash pad. In the couple of months that we were there, there were no lessons being taught. Just playing in the water and splashing each other. I had high hopes for the program, as you see and hear about them everywhere. But if you're someone like myself that truly value's quality, I would recommend elsewhere. read more

I recently signed my daughter up for swimming lessons. I am adopting her and she is on the older end for swimming -- 11 years old. Goldfish was wonderfully understanding and helped me sign her up for the right class. The place is wildly organized and she enjoys going. She just moved up a level and was SO proud. Great swimming school. Always clean and the kids love it. It is a bit on the pricier side but worth it, in my opinion.

My daughter has been attending classes regularly at Braintee's gold fish swim school for about six months and we've been very happy with the classes and her progress. Her teacher Kristen has been wonderful. A tip...ask what time slots are busiest on weekends. Such a great family swim/ swimming school for children. This whole facility is super kid friendly, it's practically built for kids. I signed up for the $89/mo which consists of 1 class a week (30 minutes) per class. And you get unlimited free family swim through out the week. Parents get to watch their kids swim through a glass right in front of the pool. (Salt water pool) It does get very busy during the weekends, They give out prizes to kids after every swim class which i think is amazing. They sell snacks and drinks and swim gear there. My 2 yr old was going before Covid so we finally decided to sign her back up. She is now 4 and loved the first class. However, she got her first double ear infection and conjunctivitis from going under the water. She's never experienced either so I was highly disappointed as she loved the class but I am scared to death to send her back as she may get sick again. They claim to check levels and all that but she has an early morning class so shouldn't the pools be cleaner then?? We haven't been since as we just got back from vacation but I am trying to see if it's even worth the risk as school is starting soon and don't want her to get that sick again causing us to take off of work. Overall our experience at Goldfish has been very positive. The front desk is very friendly and helpful. The instructors all seem to know what they're doing, and the whole place follows a clear routine that our son easily adapted to. The reason for the 3 stars is consistency. Our son (4 years old) had the same instructor for about 5 months. She left and he was reassigned and loved his new instructor. He started making more progress and his instructor was reassigned after about 6 weeks. We had to take a few weeks off before the holidays, and since starting up again our son has had a revolving door of instructors--4 in the last 4 sessions. He doesn't get excited anymore because he doesn't know who to expect and has to readjust to a new instructor every time. His progress has stalled entirely. Goldfish is a great concept and our recent experience may be unique. Give it a try, but if your child requires consistency week to week, it may not be the best fit. read more

Joined about 3 month ago and it has been a great experience so far for my 8 month old daughter! Facility is well maintained and all the staff members are friendly and professional. Lessons have been great and I think they do a great job of customizing lessons based on age groups. Great way to introduce your kids to swimming, meet other parents, and tire your kids out so they take longer naps during the day! A little concerned about the facility becoming too crowded, especially on weekends, but I guess that just means other people are enjoying this facility just as much as we are. read more

Nice swim school for timid toddlers who need to get comfortable in the water. The instructors are nice and patient. However one thing I value from any establishment is honest customer service relations. The general manager Stephanie Higgins completely lacks the skill set required of her position. She is rude and condescending to paying customers. ***Update*** I took further action and contacted one of the owners of the swim school, Bill Burnett. Mr. Burnett was AMAZING! He was very genuine, patient and understanding of the situation. You can tell that he genuinely values each and every member of his swim school. He took my complaints very seriously and went above and beyond to help resolve the issue. I can now say that I would whole heartedly recommend this swim school to anyone looking for a good quality swim school where they value all of their members. read more

Overall the facility is extremely fabulous and with very professional staff! No complain on any of the cleanliness! The issue is that my youngest child has different instructor each week which makes her have to adapt to new instructor each week and I'm not sure if the lessons are repetitive or different per instructor. I feel the school is fun, the kids enjoy it. Staff is great, my concern is recently went there with my granddaughter and she got very ill after leaving there that night. I would like to know how often the water is checked. There seems to be too many kids at a time every half hour and I have never seen anyone check the water. Its a very stuffy, humid environment with no fresh air. My granddaughter was fine all day till she went there. She did take in alot of water when she was swimming. I just feel you have adults in the water, kids, babies so how can the water be bacteria free!! read more

Staff is very welcoming and helpful! I think there is only 1 teacher who is not engaging and the class was boring but this was a one time event and I don't think I will have that person again as it was a make up class. Otherwise, place it great. My kids love it very much. I have sent many folks there with their kids and its great to see that they have enrolled. Keep up the good work. My 3 yo daughter and my 8 month old son are both enrolled here. This place is fabulous! The front desk staff are friendly and helpful. They have a scanner and you check yourself in. Quick and easy. They sell swim suits. Plenty of changing rooms. They also have a mirror with hairdryers. There's a bathing suit dryer too. The pool is a nice size with 12 classes going at a time. There are 2-3 lifeguards on duty. Very colorful, clean and well kept. The teachers are great. 5 minutes before class ends, you go in and they show you something new your child learned this week. Only been signed up here a short time wth my 11 month old but so far we're absolutely loving it. The facility is clean and the employees are so nice. Out of several we've only met one dud but that's it. Kim is a great instructor and so good with babies. I was worried my little one would fuss or cry due to being a new swimmer but he did amazing and she kept telling us how great he was doing. Very positive and encouraging. Now if only one would open up further down the south shore...driving from Marshfield is long, but worth it. Please come further south!!! read more

Maybe my expectations were too high growing up with a swimming pool. I did want to try this place out seeing how it was the only one I knew about at the time. It is totally overpriced for "1/2" hr classes that aren't that. My child sat on the side of the wall for the majority of the time and when they were actually "swimming" it was for about 10min total. Could not be happier- our 7 year old learned to swim by day 3 of the Jump Start week! They teach the kids how to glide underwater and then flip on their backs to breathe as a precursor to doing a side breath and moving arms. read more

It's a cute concept, but the expectation that my child would know how to swim after attending lessons there for well over 1yr were not met. We pulled her out recently after it was clear that, albeit she has been moving up the different levels, she doesn't have the abilities to swim on her own. At her most recent level (jr something..) they should be able to swim completely on their own. I feel that having spent around $1500 on swim lessons she should have the ability to swim independently. There were two other families that we know who also stopped the lessons for the same reasons. We now are enrolling her in another lesson elsewhere which we should have perhaps a long time ago. read more

Went for a Birthday party and it was my daughter's first time in a pool (17 months). The staff were absolutely amazing! They have swimmies and toys for all the kids to play with. Plus swim suit dryers, showers and hair dryers. Doesn't get much better then that! read more

I am highly disappointed in Braintree it seems like every time we are here for lesson it's not the same teacher teaching my son it's a new teacher every week I can understand people get sick but it shouldn't be every week I canceled my kids out and I am going to Norwood would be better 1 start for me parent don't worst your money read more

I highly recommend Goldfish. My son was only three years old when we installed an inground pool. I decided the best safety purchase was his ability to swim. Within less than a year, Goldfish had him swimming independently. Our second summer with the pool was full of a lot less worrying. He not only can swim, jump in, and climb out, but understands the danger of water. All of this occurred before he turned four! read more
