Food and drink are on the pricer side but that's how the Christmas markets generally go. The vendors were from all over the Northeast and there were actually more shops than I was expecting for a relatively smaller market. Last week class started 10 minutes late because of hockey, class got out at the regular time. Today her class started 15 minutes late and only went 5 minutes long to make up for it. There is never enough parking in the lot, either. We've had a disappointing experience so far and I feel like we haven't gotten our money's worth.

During my first visit this season, I noticed that the ladies room had been moved to the corner, and enlarged with a separate changing room space that isn't padded to protect any ice skates on your feet. I also noticed that they didn't zamboni the ice that public skate time. Public skating begins 11/29/19, ends 3/1/20 Public skating hours Saturday & Sunday: 2pm - 3:50pm Tuesday, Thursday & Friday: 12pm - 1:50pm Wednesday: public stick time 12pm - 1:50pm

Aside from that, there really isn't anything special. The second I got onto the ice, I was bombarded by about 25 little kids who consistently kept falling right in front of my skates. Keep in mind, this wasn't as hazardous as it could've been because I was only able to go about 2 mph on my skates as each square-foot was covered by an ice skater. I felt like I was playing dodgeball. By no means was this the fault of the kids, because everyone learns to skate at some point and it was actually quite cute seeing them learn. However, the public skating hours are very limited (2 hours per weekend day) + (the fact that it's free). Everybody is gonna sprint there! This isn't ideal, practice, or physically safe. There was absolutely no room to skate freely. Also, the rental hockey skates I got were very weird, the blade was not centered correctly and it seemed like it needed some sharpening.

Coach McCarthy pushing me to stop on my left side. Meeting Bobby Orr in the lobby. This was the start of Hockey in Canton. Youth Hockey started here. White hen was across the way! I think Brian Duffy Sr. Drove the zamboni. The owner from dairy king ran the concessions. This was life back in the early 80s in Canton and we were fine....as long as we beat Hingham and Weymouth!
