First off, the service was amazing -- super quick, friendly, and attentive. Our food came out hot and almost immediately after ordering, which I loved. I ordered the basil fried rice (spice level marked with two chilies), and while it was really good and full of flavor, I would've liked a bit more heat to match that spice level. The dish itself was still well-balanced and satisfying, just not as spicy as expected. The chicken could've used a little more seasoning, but everything else in the dish carried great flavor and texture. We also tried the glass noodles, and that dish was solid -- light, flavorful, and paired well with the fresh side salad. This gorgeous little hole in the wall is surprisingly upscale and perfect for a date night. That said I came in as a solo diner later in the evening so it was quiet and empty. Basil rolls were good. Definitely needed the plum sauce and we always order peanut sauce too. Theirs is a little spicy and savory. A nice combo with the plum sauce. Crab cheese rolls were the highlight! Sweet and delicious. I enjoyed the Tom Ka soup, though it was a little sweet. Kow Pad beef, basically fried rice, was amazing. This is my first review here but our third time eating at the Red Elephant. I really enjoy the all of their spring rolls but the basil are my favorite. My wife really enjoys the mango sticky rice and I have tried it and it is really tasty as well. The mangoes are fresh, sweet and cool which compliments with the rice and the coconut milk type topping which is warm over the rice. The ginger pad Thai was cooked perfectly and the veggies were done just right with a little crisp and pop to them. Not mushy at all. Our waitress was extremely accommodating and pleasant to have. She made sure our drinks were refilled and followed up to make sure we were good. The decor of the restaurant is very soothing and relaxing. Almost spa like. The music is smooth jazz like and goes well with the whole vibe of the Red Elephant. I will be returning to try more food options or just to have a late dessert here. I don't like leaving bad reviews, but a week later I can't stop thinking about how disappointed I was in my meal here. I definitely learned my lesson about trying a new restaurant on my birthday! We started with edamame and veggie spring rolls, which were fine. I ordered pad zee eu, which is not what I received. The waitress checked and said that they accidentally gave my dish to another table and they'd make me a new one. They obviously gave me the same tofu from the first plate, which was COLD, soggy, and so bland. Plus only 5 pieces for a dinner entree?? Even though the sauce looked right, the dish was not pad zee eu - there were a ton of vegetables in it that were not listed on the menu and honestly it looked like what they originally gave me with the right sauce poured on top. My friend ordered basil fried rice with medium spice. He said it had no flavor and no spice. He ended up pouring the sauce from the spring rolls on it (!!) and said Tin Drum's is better! After putting in an order online, k was able to get my food in about 20min. I ordered the Masaman curry, panang curry and basil fried rice. It was enough for the four of us. The basil fried rice was delicious and it came with two slices of cucumbers and a tomato. The masaman curry was also really tasty and one of the best ones I have ever had. I liked that it was topped with avocado and cashews. The panang curry was also good but I think it had fish sauce in it which I didn't like. We had dinner here and was impressed with the food, the service, and the ambience. There were four of us and we ordered edamame, satay Kai, spring roll, shrimp pad Thai, chicken gai Siam, pork yellow curry, and chicken massaman curry. The food was well prepared, flavorful, and fresh. Portions were large and we all took portions home with us. The restaurant was very clean with soft music playing in the background. How refreshing! We were able to have conversations without raising our voices and the relaxed atmosphere enabled us to enjoy our meal and each other so much more! Look forward to eating here again! read more

I have been going to this restaurant with my family for almost a decade, and it is always amazing. I don't think it's on the menu, but we always order a couple baskets of "shrimp crisps" and they are fantastic. My favorites on the menu are the poh pia thod, the tom yum soup, and I always get the kia Siam (I swear it's the best thing on the menu!). The service is always really good too, and they are always on top of filling up drinks, which is important with Thai spice! First off, I've been here for lunch four times. The food that I've had has been excellent. Fresh and delicious and exactly what I've always loved about Thai cuisine. The service has been oddly haphazard. The second time I walked in, there were two tables of customers and the man who greeted me told me I would have to wait 40 minutes for food. I didn't wait. And on my fourth visit, right now, the same man told me I'd have to wait ten minutes before he'd take my order. There were three other tables. It was more like 2 minutes. There was another woman serving food. Maybe the guy was the only one who spoke English. Regardless, I thought it was odd. Normally that "wait 40 minutes" line would be enough to keep me away. I recently was in NYC and wanted to try a highly rated, trending Thai restaurant there. I was pretty shocked at having dinner at the Red Elephant here in Marietta, and finding that it was even better than the Thai restaurant that was raved about on the Upper West Side! I had the coconut milk soup and there were so many layers of flavor. I had them add chicken as my pro Tien, and it was understated deliciousness. The summer rolls which are the shrimp and basil wraps in that clear rice wrapper,were on par with the best I've ever had. Everyone in our party was super happy with their orders. Overall I like them, and I think most of the demerits I have are only problems dining in. I'd wager as a to-go dining experience Red Elephant is a 5 star place. Seating is a little bit tight, and every table I've been at has been sticky. I don't think that's the staff not cleaning, I'm pretty sure it's the age of the table plus the varnish making things tacky. Sodas for the record, are a bit pricey and half liter bottles, instead of fountain. So... that's also a bit of a negative. I've gotten the Pad Thai, Pad Ke Mow, and Basil Rolls. The noodle dishes are pretty good. I don't know if they're the best I've ever had, but I feel comfortable calling them a quality option. The Basil Rolls are shrimp, very very good, although I prefer peanut sauce to plum sauce, the plum is a good option when everyone else offers peanut. Red Elephant thai restaurant is a great option for authentic thai food if you are ever in the Smyrna, GA area. In 2017, I spent 2 weeks traveling through Bangkok and Phuket, Thailand and while the food isn't quite as good as what you'd find there, it comes pretty close and the prices are very reasonable. The service here is really top notch, they provide shrimp puffs (also known as prawn crackers) for free to every table when you sit down. I attached a picture of these in case you aren't familiar with them, they are light and crunchy deep-fried starch "chips" that are shrimp flavored. The pad thai and curries here are really flavorful and delicious. Shrimp pad thai is my go-to dish when I want to grab a quick bite but I've also had the panang and green curries which both are delightful. I always accompany my meal with a thai iced tea, super tasty. If you're looking for an affordable, fast, and flavorful lunch or dinner spot, you won't regret visiting Red Elephant! read more

Why is it so hard to find a decent Thai in Atlanta?? This place is really a 3.5 *** rounded down for lack of service. Based on YE reviews and geographic desirability, I needed a Pad Thai fix so drove to Red Elephant today for late lunch. The place is a small casual sit down in a small shopping center. It was mostly empty with 3 occupied tables. I was seated right away and was provided a menu. The waitress came by and took my order even before I had a chance to look at the menu. Very prompt. Good thing I knew I wanted Pad Thai. My order came out within 5 minutes so I assume it was pre-made even before I ever walked in the door. Pad Thai is a popular dish so maybe they do this for the lunch crowd? It looked good so I dug in. While it had a nice flavor, I wish I had more lime wedges and some heat. The portion was perfect for me but it's on the smallish side for those with bigger appetite, you may want to order their dinner size. The waitress never returned to ask how my food was, refill my beverage nor if I needed anything like lime and sriracha. I waited and waited and finally got up to pay for my check. Only then the waitress got up to calculate my check. I might come back if I can't find a better Thai place for a take out. read more

Very good. Found this place visiting the nail salon one Friday & decided to give it a try as I've been on a curry kick as of lately, the food was good as well as the service. I went for what I know which was the masaman however I added fish filets instead. It was most delicious, as I had expected. I came here for a work lunch. The place was busy and it seemed to be the norm here during lunch time hours, lots of businesses near by. The service was very disappointing. The waitress made us wait 20 min prior to taking our orders. I went with a Combination of shrimps, sea scallops, squids, mussels and basil sauce (Chao Lay but subbed he creamy sauce). I also asked for extra veggies but I never received them. The food came out ok but I found the portion size small. They do not have brown rice unfortunately and lunch menu is somewhat limited (I was hoping for papaya salad but no such luck). I ordered the Red Elephant snapper platter. It came with a large whole fried fish, with tempura-like broccoli, small corn coblets, and carrots. There was a sweet and spicy sauce poured over it which was a little too salty. I ordered my dish Thai hot, but the spice level was almost non-existent. The gentleman ordered the lamb basil. Unfortunately, the lamb was over cooked, tough, and chewy. He said he would not order it again. There wasn't anything too spectacular about this place, so we will probably skip it when we choose to do Thai food again, or I'll just make some at home. Disappointed! Update! I returned on September 9, 2017. I decided to order the snapper once again. I am so glad I decided to give this place one more chance because this time around, it was fantastic!
