Positive and negative feedback alike should remain visible as long as it complies with the platform's published guidelines. Selectively removing legitimate reviews distorts public perception and diminishes the value of customers feedback. We welcome constructive criticism because it helps us improve the way we serve our guests. Likewise, we greatly appreciate positive reviews because they recognize the efforts of our team and help future customers make informed decisions. If Yelp determines that a review should be removed, businesses should be notified and given an opportunity to understand the reason or, when appropriate, communicate with the customer. Greater transparency in the review process would benefit both businesses and consumer. At its best, a review platform should accurately reflect the authentic experiences of its users. Unfortunately, our recent experience has not met that expectation.
