Yes to Laney Silverman and The Design Boutique for branding and graphic design! I hired Laney to help me with a branding refresh for my print collateral (business cards, stationery, client-facing work stuff). I told Laney what I was looking for and she turned it around and asked me what I wanted to accomplish and convey with my brand. We worked through how my business is different and she pushed back when I wanted to drop an aspect of my branding that I thought was dated. Instead, she freshened it up and reminded me of its importance. I expected Laney to quickly rubber stamp my initial ideas. Instead, she created something to which I'm proud to ascribe my name. If you've read this far in my review, you should simply know that I will continue to work with Laney on other branding and marketing issues I've got. read more

My company hired The Design Boutique to design our logo. I was impressed with how, even though we asked for a logo, Laney understood that a logo doesn't sit alone--it must be integrated into all corporate identity expressions. So she asked questions about how we would use it, including everything from the website to printed materials to hats for Christmas so that it would be appropriate and scale well. I was also impressed with her ability to adapt her process to fit our company's internal processes. Because we run all major strategy decisions by consensus, I needed her to interface with my whole team. As an architect, I understand that design by committee is challenging. Nonetheless, she delivered. Laney met every single deadline she set. She also went beyond what was expected too. After I signed off on the final design and started using the new logo, I realized I wanted to change something. She went ahead and made the change for me at no extra charge, even though she would have been in the right to ask for extra. Laney has an unusual fluency with a wide variety of different design styles, and is extremely professional. She also operates her business with a high level of integrity. Great shop to work with. read more

Laney is awesome! She did a great job of designing a booklet for me which was to be presented to a board of judges for an award I am seeking. Within a few days, she created the cover, designed the booklet and personally delivered it to the printers. She made sure it was right before printing. Her personal touch and communication with her team is reliable and professional. Laney helped relieve me of the stress I was feeling to meet the deadline. She's great! Joanne F. read more

Laney is truly amazing!! The Mortgage Bank I work for used Laney for a variety of projects and we couldn't be happier with not only the work that was done, but almost more importantly, the ease of use and organizational skills she brings to the table. Laney's up-front time-lines and constant communication made us feel confident in her abilities to keep us moving forward. She offers valuable opinions and insight to every project and thinks of every little detail you could imagine (usually along with a personal recommendation of someone which helps immensely)! We have used Laney for facilitating and laying out a full page magazine ad, website improvements, setting up a website for us, photographer recommendations for agent head-shots, logo help, and more! Anything design related goes to Laney... we have never needed anyone else! read more

I contacted Laney for two projects. The first was a one pager sheet on my company, expertise marketing piece. On exceedingly short notice, Laney put together a very professional one piece that I was able to use at a presentation the following day to much success. The second project was updating and enhancing my website. The web guy I worked with originally helped start a great site for me. Then he disappeared. Wouldn't get back to me, return my emails or even give my credentials for my website. Then I called Laney at The Design Boutique. She got back to me right away. Got me all organized. Laney and her partner Stacey called me several times to make sure I was getting what I needed. It was nice to hear a voice and not just emails. I am a professional and its nice to work with other professionals like Laney. She took the frustration out of my marketing and made it look awesome and with ease. read more

Working with The Design Boutique was the highlight of my fall and winter. Our small company was bought by a large firm, and we were ordered to rebrand an entire suite of marketing materials that had been working very well but weren't in line with the larger corporate image. We excitedly chose The Design Boutique after meeting with/evaluating many other Bay Area firms. (From prior experience, we had no desire to deal with East coast hours). The Design Boutique put me at ease. They understood that we couldn't stray too far outside the box given our target audience and long-tested strategies. Despite those constraints plus the 100-page corporate guidelines we had to follow, The Design Boutique delivered fresh, dynamic material. They were happy to work with us in iterative phases and to help produce test materials for focus groups to ensure an optimized final product. I appreciated the thoughtfulness in Laney's approach. The Design Boutique successfully infused a modern spirit into both our print and online materials while maintaining our tried and true general message. They were very patient with our indecisiveness and with our slow feedback when other priorities took over. Laney's optimism shone through, and she never made us feel guilty about wanting to see three other options and then ultimately returning to the original one. I recall a couple occasions when she and I were making last-minute edits until 10pm at night, and at least one of those evenings was a Friday. Her dedication, flexibility, and clear communication made our client experience extremely positive. I wouldn't hesitate recommending The Design Boutique to anyone. Laney's energy, enthusiasm, and creativity made each meeting and the entire process a pleasure. read more

As someone who operates an IT consulting firm, me and my team often get requests for web/website development related questions/work. This is not a core competency of ours.
