The middle item was like an egg roll with some sort of meat, probably chicken or pork in the middle. It was good but the oils were too thick and soaked into everything. The oily greasy element hurt my stomach and gave me a small headache so I can't say I enjoyed it thoroughly but taste wise it probably would satisfy someone. My friend seemed to like everything but we didn't finish that dish first. The place is kind of small but the menu is efficiently full of different types of dishes. The salad roll dipping sauce was sweeter than I am used to and less peanut based. Still good - just different. All of their bubble teas are fresh fruit based which makes this Mom very happy. They can also do a dairy free option. Of course the bread and butter here are the delicious subs! Bread is baked in house daily and oh so perfect. Second Bowl has some of the best, if not best Satay beef noodle soup hubs and I have found. The salad rolls are darn good and reasonable at $3 for two vegetarian rolls or $4.50 with meat. #38 Spicy Beef Satay Noodle Soup and Pork Salad Rolls are pretty well my idea of heaven on a cold winter's night. A BAD hole in the wall restaurant…read more So this is my best friend's Vietnamese restaurant and she invited me there last night. It is truly a hole in the wall, independently owned restaurant. The people there were very nice, but it's definitely one of those places where you don't want to look closely at anything! I had the #8 - vermicelli bowl with spring rolls. The bowl looked like a typical bowl with the accompanying fish sauce. It did smell a bit off, but I didn't think too much of it as my friend eats here all the time. The restaurant was filled with the typical grease smoke and the skip orders were a constant sound. Needless to say, I ate my bowl until I was full because it seemed to be a popular place. About 3 hours later, my stomach and intestines had a slight burn-y feeling and I thought it was indigestion. Nope! It hit me at 1 AM, running to the bathroom at full tilt, scared that I was going to defecate in my Pjs. It had continued into the next day were I had to call in sick to work. I am a strong supporter of small family businesses, but this experience will haunt me and I won't be going back. Too bad.
