This is my favorite Chinese in the neighborhood, primarily because it's not what one expects. The space is large, with several side rooms, and an area that used to be a patio, but is now a covered indoor space, with shades that can be drawn across them. Very clean looking and with sharp service: no less than two different waiters came up to ensure we had drinks coming, which were creative, not merely Tiki Bar staples. I had a whisky and tea-based cocktail that was excellent. The food... excellent. From the crab rangoon and soup dumplings with a ginger soy sauce to my wife's Singapore noodles, my lamb and vegetable stir-fry, and my son's pork.... We kept eating even after we were full simply to get more of the flavors. Generous portions. We took plenty of leftovers at the end. Do not expect typical Chinese from a neighborhood storefront. This is two levels higher. And do try the beers. China produces twice the amount the US does, and it goes very well with the food. Better, usually, than wine.

Red Bowl is one of those places that just makes you happy the second you walk in. It's owned by the sweetest family whose kids went to the school where I teach, and you can feel their warmth in everything from the food to the way they greet you. The dining room and bar were all decked out for Christmas and looked beautiful. Cozy lights, festive decorations, and comfy chairs that make you want to stay forever. We got a big round table in the back with a giant lazy Susan, and I swear we could've spun that thing all night. We ordered a ton of food to share because that's the only right way to do it. The wonton soup was perfect on a 30-degree night. The crispy honey beef stole the show. We even ordered it twice because it was that good. The steamed dumplings (both chicken and vegetable), pork fried rice, lo mein, and sesame chicken were all delicious. Not a single miss. Dessert was just as amazing. We tried three mochi flavors (green tea won my heart), plus cheesecake and a chocolate fondant that was ridiculously good. Our server was so sweet and even took our picture, moving a few plates out of the way first like a total pro. It's such a special place run by people who truly care. Great food, great atmosphere, and even better vibes. I'm already counting down the days until I go back!

Quick, friendly and efficient service. The food is fresh and flavorful as always. When I explained I had to limit my sodium, the kind waiter offered to prepare my chicken with mixed vegetables without msg without sacrificing any flavor. Very helpful and deeply appreciated!

Chicken bao bun... I mean what are we talking about? "Chicken bao buns are a popular dish featuring fluffy, steamed Chinese buns filled with a variety of chicken preparations, sauces, and fresh garnishes. The chicken can be prepared in various ways, including crispy fried, pulled, or ground and seasoned. " Well.. we are talking about Red Bowl's Chicken Bao buns that are lip smacking delicious fluffy cloud bun with choices of fried chicken, Kaarage like prepared, or pork belly bao. All baos come with 2 pieces and greens;, the crack sauce that comes with the fried chicken adds a kick. The veggie lo Mein was also delicious; packed with broccoli, onions and carrots. The portion is enough for two people and if solo, there will be leftovers. Their egg roll is consistently crispy and delicious accompanied by a fire engine hot mustard and sweet duck sauce. Scrumptious indeed! Red Bowl is consistently delicious whether I'm dining in or ordering delivery. This review is for delivery; and the food is equally delicious compared to dining in. We know some restaurants delivery is a totally different one from in person. Red Bowl is opened until 10pm most days so if you have a cravingggg.. you know who to call! RB is located on 8518 Third Avenue

I came in tonight to order pan fried pork dumplings (fried on both sides) and pork fried rice to go. While my food was being prepared, I ordered a spicy margarita on the rocks with salt. It was amazing! I stood at the bar and took notice how clean the bar top was and how everything looked clean. The price was right and my food was amazing. The staff is friendly and I can't say more about the place. If you haven't check this place out, you're missing out.

One of my favorite spots in Bay Ridge! The food and service is consistently phenomenal and the prices cannot be beat. Really beautiful restaurant with a great menu of delicious bites!!

Very upscale Chinese American spot in Bay Ridge. Pricey but the food quality is tremendous. I will declare them the best Scallion Cakes I have ever had, they have a flaky, almost pastry quality and are not overly greasy like many of them tend to be. The General Tsos chicken is nice chunks of white meat chicken with a sauce that doesnt go into the cloying area that so many do. The Pork in Garlic sauce has very fork tender pieces of pork and the veggies are all great quality. The Hot and Sour soup is perfect for when you feel youre coming down with a cold in all its sinus clearing goodness. The Chicken Wings were meaty and well made i went with the Soy Garlic ones. The only item i wasnt crazy over was the eggrolls which I didnt feel were crisp enough and filling was 95% cabbage. Only issues I have with them is not having Combination Platters like virtually every other Chinese American pot and the prices are really high which makes them more a splurge than the average Chinese spot. Overall tho this is a very solid place.

What a great experience I'm born in Brooklyn living in LA visiting so my brother he took me to the Red Bowl Chinese Restaurant. He praised everything about the Establishment and he was right. The service is excellent and beautiful Big fish tank to look at, and the food was absolutely delicious right on the money. I had the combination fried rice the house rice the chicken was excellent and my brother got broccoli and beef, dessert was good pistachio cake out of this world. I would highly recommend this wonderful Chinese Restaurant for people who love good food and great service I hope you enjoy my pictures and I will probably be there maybe tomorrow or the next day five stars.

After the pandemic, the quality of many American Chinese food places around Bay Ridge went down. This is the only place that doesn't upset my stomach afterward. Whether it's dining in or ordering out, this is a safe and cleanly place if you don't feel like taking any risks.

This place did not disappoint! This is was our 2nd time coming as a family and we all loved dining here. I personally loved their orange chicken and crab rangoon. Their chicken was fresh and was super tasty! Very crunchy and it hit the spot! Crab rangoon- was very crunchy! It had a bit too much of mayonnaise but did the job! Overall, my family and I were impressed with the service. They were helpful and attentive. We loved their ambience-they decorated for chinese new year and my family took a lot of photos! At the end they would give us fortune cookies and their fruit of the day. Tip: if you pay in cash you wont have to pay the extra fee for card.

Came by lunch. Service was great, ambience is tradition diner with Asian influences (cozy). Our dishes varied from good to great to excellent. Highly recommended the soups and Mongolian beef. Fried rices were great. Vegetables used were fresh and salt level was perfect. Certainly, a repeat type of establishment.

Some dishes were bigger than others. Both times I came they didn't have abalone so we substitute the dish for garlic scallop (which I prefer). The menu also says it comes with house special dessert but we never gotten any. For any seafood, it's market price plus they add a 30% processing fee, which is strange to me. For a Chinese restaurant which usually does not charge tax if you pay with cash, they charge tax here whether you pay by card or cash. The restaurant is pretty big and spacious. They have pretty large tables, suitable for parties and celebrations. There's a private space upstairs with 3 large tables for parties. The restaurant is pretty slow in the afternoon.

As a lover of Dim Sum, I start my weekend morning by making the long commute just to get a taste of everything. The spot is constantly bustling with people moving in and out of the restaurant, the waiters running around, the carts strolling to each table, etc. These days, cart services have been decreasing, but it's nice to see that some spots have still kept them around. My rotation always includes the following-har gow, deep-fried noodlefish, shrimp cheong fun (rice noodle roll), zhaliang (fried dough rice noodle roll), chicken feet, and beef tripe-and now more recently, salt and pepper squid. I'm not even joking when I say this, but my mouth was salivating when they placed everything in front of us. Everything was fresh and just so full of flavor. I randomly get reminded of the taste and suddenly crave it again. We also have to thank the wonderful expeditors who would make sure we got everything we wanted. When the salt and pepper squid had run out of the carts, they made sure to request more for our table and got us a fresh, hot, and steaming plate of it. Everything at dimsum might seem very hectic and quick, but when you're sitting down with your family and friends, it can really feel calming. They also give you a choice of tea; we love getting chrysanthemum to wash down the grease from the fried food. There's no wonder people make this a weekly routine; it's just got everything you could need.

The busy neighborhood setting means the interior is often shaped by crowds, and during peak weekend hours it fills up quickly. We saw people lined up outside waiting for tables before we even made it through the door. The core experience here is centered around classic push cart dim sum service. Servers moved through the dining room with carts, offering a rotating selection of dumplings, buns, and other small plates. We spotted har gow, shumai, chicken feet, and spare ribs as part of the typical spread. There were also more varied items like beef offal and pepper beef ribs that showed up depending on which cart passed by. It felt like a small discovery every time a new cart rounded the corner. Service is fast paced and structured around the flow of carts and seating turnover. Things got chaotic during the busy period, with wait times and seating queues feeling like a normal part of the experience. Once we were seated, dishes started arriving quickly, but the pace of ordering depended on catching carts as they circulated through the room. You have to stay alert, or you might miss something you wanted.

At first I wish there were more chrysanthemum leaves to napa cabbage, but later I felt like the ratio was appropriate cause the cabbage was more neutral and provided additional crunchiness. The lo bah go was quite interesting! I don't think I've ever had it fried with butter. I liked the larger chunks of preserved veggies 菜圃. The combo with hosin sauce or with the shrimpy chili oil was very tasty. The naw mi fan (sticky rice) was probably the highlight for me! It was their spring version which featured a celery herb salad and pistachios. The sticky rice was nicely done with a cripsy outer layer, chewy rice without being overly sticky. It paired very nicely with the citrus-y and herbaceous salad as well as the nutty and savory pistachio pea puree. The McRib sandwich brought back many childhood memories, especially with the bun that you find at many Cantonese bakeries. Ribs were well seasoned and very tender. The fries were *addicting* likely from the MSG but they were GOOD. We ended our meal with the fried milk which was crunchy and chewy. The pork floss added a nice contrasting savoriness and umami to the sweet and creamy vanilla ice cream and cream, while the peanuts added more textural contrast.
