We been coming to the China moon for a few years now. Recently our last few orders were WRONG! We do not eat pork however was given pork fried rice and pork egg roll when we asked for both shrimp. In addition to wrong food orders. We have been overcharged, a few dollars here and there. $10 one day and I had to go back and get my money. Today there was a thin wire of some sort in my food and I actually put it in my mouth but thankfully didn't cut my mouth with the thing. Not sure what's going on but I will NOT be returning

I've been coming to this place for a few years now, it's almost not fake Chinese food, it's with quality & deliciousness. I love how authentic it is and the food is fresh! I've tried every American Chinese foods in the area and this is the best! Not the cheapest but Im willing to pay the slight extra for quality. I've tried their combo plates, and lately the chow funs and even sweet & sour pork. The sweet & sour dishes at fake chinese food places are usually so badly battered and its sauce is disgusting, its not even close to the real chinese dish. This place is completely different, at least it actually gives you in sauce! Tip: You can ask for chicken fried rice for your combo instead of pork fried rice. This place is very cleaned, everyone is masked up and friendly. I think its good food and authentic because cooks are Cantonese chefs. Overall it's always my to go, even if it takes 30mins to go and come back home :)

You don't know what this stuff is? Come on!!!

PREFECT OLD SCHOOL CHINESE TAKEOUT It's always a hit or miss when you order from a Chinese takeout place for the first time. A lot of places have garbage, and the egg rolls, well... They're not the egg rolls I grew up with here in Brooklyn. But the food from this place was "Perfect Old School Chinese Food", the good stuff... The great tasting Chinese takeout Brooklyn use to be known for! Mind you, this is not authentic Chinese food, it's "American Take out". I don't know many Chinese people who eat "egg rolls" or "egg foo young". That's for us Americans. Their menus and foods are so delicious and vast, the average American would be confused if they saw it. They make this for us, which is cool. I know this because I'm the only "Low Fon" (white guy) in my majority Chinese family. BACK TO NEW MOON: I called this place and got one of the meanest Chinese women I ever heard on the phone (loved it, hahaha!) Wasted no time taking my order. She was all about business and getting that food out! Nice delivery guy gave him a 6-dollar tip. THE ORDER: Sweet and sour pork, pork fried rice, Dumplings, roast pork and broccoli, shrimp lo mein and yes... 2 EGG ROLLS!!! It all came with soy sauce, duck sauce, fortune cookies and the hottest Chinese Takeout mustard you ever had!!! That stuff will definitely clear your sinuses... EXCELLENT!!! Needless to say, the food was everything I wanted, and know to be "PREFECT OLD SCHOOL CHINESE TAKEOUT" I had a full belly and a smile on my face that evening! Must be one of THE BEST CHINESE FOOD TAKEOUT PLACES IN BROOKLYN!

Large sautéed broccoli with less oil

I usually have a designated take-out place I go to but, I decided to change it up this time. Also, the positive reviews had something to do with my decision making. This is a review based on one dish. So, I can't say much about the others. Went in on a brisk cold night to pick up dinner. I ordered the "sauteed broccoli" with less oil. Their brown sauce is not the usual taste in most take-out joints. I would say it's more of an acquired taste. The broccoli was also overcooked than I would have liked. They did cook with "less oil" whereas some places do not. There's also ample seating and an ATM which was nice. Didn't have brown rice so that kind of sucked for me. Service was decent enough. I don't want to knock it, but I probably won't return because it is out of my way and my go-to dish wasn't good.

New name, but the same great Chinese food. This used to be called "New Jade Kitchen". They look like they changed ownership but everything I loved about the place is still the same. Let's be honest, most Chinese food places are generally pretty average. Even though they aren't a chain, you pretty much know what your are gonna get when you order. This place is better. Staff: still as friendly as they used to be; when was the last time you were greeted with a smile and a "Hello" when you walked into a Chinese food spot??? Food: Some things are better than others but I've liked everything I've tried so far. They have the best pork fried rice; no question about it. General Tso's and Sesame chicken are also great choices. But my favorite thing here is the roast pork with mixed vegetables. Always cooked well, seasoned well (without being overly salty) and always a generous portion. Great place for a quick and cheap Chinese meal. Stop by and support this local business.

I bought the worst, oilest egg roll ever here, see the picture. Now look at their egg roll photo and see what you think you're gonna get. It was so bad that I stained my clothes. These guys should pack 10 napkins next to every egg roll.

Is the crab meat imitation crab meat? Is the lobster crayfish?

Hello. Thank you for taking the time to ask us a question. We do not have crab or crab meat on our menu. We have lobster on our menu. We sell it Cantonese Style. The lobster is always fresh and sold at market price.

The food was very fairly priced and the portions were huge. We got the pork soup dumplings, pork fried rice, szechuan chicken (which came with white rice), and pad see ew (which though not listed comes with pork, chicken, and shrimp). Everything was solid, but our favorite was the fried rice which had a ton of flavor. I liked the veggies that were in the chicken dish but there were just way too many of them compared to the chicken and I wasn't crazy about the sauce. The pad see ew wasn't made the traditional way I've had it with soy sauce and oyster sauce. It had some sort of orange sauce that tasted closer to a sweet and sour. It wasn't bad it was just not what I was hoping for. The soup dumplings were solid, no complaints there. And the fried rice was great, lots of flavor. Overall, I liked this place especially for the price but I'd probably order different things if I went back.

I found parking down the block and walked over to the restaurant. It seems like more of a delivery spot because there was no one inside sitting at any of the 5 tables. It's a fairly good size space, very simply decorated, mixed with a cool wall resembling a curio cabinet of treasures. I chose a spot in the middle and went to the restroom which was clean and simple. I noticed there were a lot of takeout orders, from delivery services to local folks picking up their regular dinner. I looked over the menu and decided on salt and pepper wings and an order of shrimp. Fried Rice came out first and it was delicious. I even tasted a hint of salted egg yolk mixed into the egg mixture friefried up with the rice that signature crispiness with the little saltiness.... fantastic. The salt and pepper wings were different than the ones i'm accustomed to though the flavor was amazing. It didn't have the fried garlic, peppers, chilis, and onions that i'm accustomed to being in the dish. They were still flavorful, juicy and crisp and I could tell they cooked them fresh. That was much appreciated. I ended up taking half of my food home because I was stuffed.Thank you Msm Ellen and the Crown Garden crew for a tasty solo dinner.

The pork with garlic sauce was absolutely delicious. This one isn't spicy so it didn't numb the mouth. The mapo tofu was also delicious and a little spicier but still not numbing the mouth. Def better to have it with rice though. The green pepper fish was mouth numbing and honestly I couldn't taste much of the flavor because the combination of spice and the hot temperature of the food was overbearing for me. So if you're like me and can tolerate some spicy but not numbing spicy then I would recommend telling them less spicy. Portions were perfect for 5 people (3 males and 2 females) as we ordered 2 of the pork with garlic sauce, 2 mapo tofus, and 1 big green pepper fish dish. There was nothing that I ordered that needed ketchup. Nothing. There wasn't even soy sauce in the bag. Then had the unmitigated gall to charge $22 for the salt baked shrimp and told me I had to pay $5 extra to substitute the lo mein for white rice. Who is eating white rice with shrimp? Girl bye. I'm not paying almost $30 for one meal from a hood Chinese spot. If there's no heat in your establishment, your prices need to be in lowercase. If it looks like you might catch staph in your establishment, your prices need not to be so loud. I also believe they overcharged me. They did have a sign saying that the prices went up, but I think they may have been too cheap to print out a new menu if that was the case. I was going off of what they had on the wall for the general public. So as I stated, I ordered crab Rangoon ($7, allegedly), honey wings ($7, allegedly), a shrimp egg roll ($2, allegedly), spare rib tips with fried rice ($12, allegedly). My total was $31. My assumption is they probably charged me extra for pork fried rice, which I didn't ask him for. I know for a fact they are not charging tax because there's no way that you're forcing people to pay in cash while also charging them for taxes that you don't pay. The crab Rangoon was actually pretty decent even though I didn't have the sauce that comes with it. The honey wings were OK. They actually taste more like honey BBQ. I prefer C&Y honey wings. It's real honey and stay hot for an hour due to the way honey maintains heat. I also don't appreciate when these spots chop up a wing and call it two wings. 1 wing is the entire thing. STINGY. The spare rib tips I don't like and neither do I like their pork fried rice. The rice is a bit bland and I don't like those large spare rib tips. I prefer the boneless spare rib tips that C&Y has. A shrimp roll is a shrimp roll is a shrimp roll. It wasn't too bad and it was actually pretty happy. The shrimp was a little bit larger than those baby shrimp that they normally stuff in shrimp rolls. Their pricing is on par with C&Y yet I don't have no issues paying what they ask and their food is good aside from their lo mein. They are not stingy and have pretty decent customer service unlike the guy who took my order here who paused my order to take another order over the phone and tend to the person behind me. This is what I get for cheating on my spot and being lazy when they both were far af.
