Really, really good. Ordered delivery via door dash. All the meat was cooked to perfection. The BBQ sauce tasted the same on each meat. It's got a hint of vinegar, hint of spice, hint of sweet; good sauce for those not picky. The sides were BIG so know you're likely going to have leftovers. We had the corn bread (with honey butter), the crazy corn, and the house salad. This salad is the best delivery salad I've had. It has everything! Brisket, my favorite smoked meat, is really good at this little whole in the wall take out place in a little strip mall in West Santa Rosa! The brisket has a nice smokey taste, is tender and moist and the taste is what brisket should be. The restaurant is primarily a take out place with a choice of different meats and vegie options with a few seats available. A decent portion of meat with two sides came to $15 (chicken and some other dishes are less), significantly less than one would pay elsewhere. The potato salad is very commercial and the cole slay was tasty and not too wet, so the sides were good also. Service is fast and friendly. A good place for a to go meal that gets it all right with good food and a fantastic value. Give it a try. read more

Maybe because I recently located here from the city but every time I think of going to a BBQ place, the immediate next thought is, "are you prepared to spend $30-$40 on lunch, and if you try and spend less, you walk away hungry. Not here. I was very impressed with the portion size. I ordered the 2 Meat/3 Sides Combo. Your typical sides, beans, greens, mac and potato salads, and then a Dutch Crunch roll? Puzzled for only a second it occurred to me, Sandwich !!! ...and my mind immediately zoomed in on beef brisket. I thought it be delicious but difficult to assemble myself at the table. The lady behind the counter volunteered to do it for me, even asking if I'd like the fat part trimmed off. She had all the right ingredients and put it all on the sandwich perfectly. My other meat choice was the Pork Ribs. Cooked perfectly they were tender but maintained a little tooth to the bone, while the sauce was savory, a tiny bit spicy, with just a hint of sweet. The sides were great too. I'm pretty picky about my mac and potato salads and they were both wonderful. The Mac didn't taste sweet, I hate when that happens and the potato salad was worthy of a Jewish Delicatessan. I believe I walked out of there for about $18.00 The only downside was the space. Very tiny storefront with only one table and a few counter seats facing the wall. Fine if you are the only ones in there but soon a bunch of people showed up and it got a little claustrophobic with all these people standing over your table, while your eating, unmasked. There was a little bit of seating outside, but the were some non-patron people sitting there and I wasn't in the mood to ask them to move on. That should be the merchant's job. They should monitor that more closely being the limitations of their seating. I don't know how well that aforementioned sandwich would hold up to travel but most of the items there would be ideal for a picnic. .. If your know where to go ( again, I'm new in town, feel free to comment suggestions) . Protips, go for the Ribs, and ask for extra sauce on the side. We just tried this place for the first time, so this review is based on just that one visit. Overall, the food was excellent and the portions large. With the fairly low prices, it was a great value. We love barbecue in general and our long-time favorite in this area (of those still around) is Sweet T's. While Red Bee is generally not up to the quality of Sweet T's, and the place itself is just a basic hole-in-the-wall rather than a fancy eating experience, the prices here are much less, meaning that it can provide good barbecue at a lower price for times when we don't feel the need for something like Sweet T's. Moreover, in some small points of the food, this place compares favorably. We got thee 2-meat/2-side plates plus a large salad to share. The salad (4) was very good - nothing fancy but a nice mix of good ingredients and not too much or too little of anything. Some pieces like the onions could have been cut smaller but that is minor. Smoked brisket was also very good (4) - a nice mix of meat and fat, tender and flavourful, but lacking that real smoked character of the best and for some might be a little too moist. It also needed a dash of salt and something more for pizazz. Barbecue chicken leg/thigh quarters was outstanding (5). It was cooked to very tender and falling off the bone, the skin was caramelized and perfectly cooked. It was extremely tasty. It could have done with a touch more smokey character at most (but not really, it's easy to do too much and upset the delicate balance with chicken especially), but otherwise needed nothing more. Chicken teriyaki was excellent - flavourful (5). The pulled pork was good and tender but needed some salt and was a little bland (3.5, not quite a 4) Cole slaw was good and had great texture but was a bit bland (3.5, not quite 4) Elote/Mexican street corn was outstanding (5) - nicely cooked, very nicely seasoned. Corn bread was outstanding as well (5). It was nicely moist with a nicely browned top, great texture and flavour. Far better than most we find, including Sweet T's,, which is more dry and bland. Bean were great (4, flavourful and with a nice bit of the meat fat for extra character but some might not like that. Overall, we'll gladly go back. read more

This Asian-influenced BBQ place can be deliciously outstanding or mediocre. Portion sizes can be huge, or just average. That means it's inconsistent. Hit or miss. I've been here several times and have tried all the different meats. By far and away, the beef brisket is the best. However, although I always ask for them to remove the fat, it is always about half of the portion. Which for me, means I end up throwing half away. The two sides I've tried are the salad which has been either outstanding or just good, and the macaroni salad, which has been either outstanding or just good. Prices are around $15 to $25 out the door. Salad has a slight up charge and the beef brisket as well. There's no place to eat inside. This is strictly a Takeout kind of place. You order your meat and 2 sides, pay for it, and then go home. If this restaurant were more consistent, And the meat were less fatty, I would eat here more often. For a Fast Food style BBQ this is excellent. Much lower priced than most - reminds me of going to a BBQ restaurant 15 years ago with my brother - same prices, something like $19.00 for a whole slab of ribs. They do them in an oven / smoker - not on a grill as someone thought. And no this isn't Asian, just because the owner is Asian doesn't make it Asian BBQ, that is completely different. But the owner seemed to be a very nice and gracious man. Polite and gives out samples. He gives you his full attention when talking to you unlike teenagers that are always focused somewhere else. The place was busy but he and his staff of 2 were quick and efficient. There was a guy in front of me that said he came there 4x a week - everyone there was very friendly for this type of atmosphere (cafeteria line and just a few seats). That comes from the owner and staff and I appreciate that everywhere I go. The sauce is different than I'm used too but still very good - it was saucy, a touch of sweetness with a little kick. This is THE WORST bbq I have ever had. There are not words to describe how awful this was. We ordered $150 worth of food delivered through GrubHub. The quality and freshness of the food was something to be questioned. It was inedible and tasted rancid. The brisket was all fat as were the ribs and pulled pork. It tasted old and had zero flavor. The corn was sour and I don't know how you could call it "Mexican street corn". It was nothing close. The cornbread was dry and tasted like rancid oil. 3.5 I'd say for what I had. Haven't had their other meat selections. Decent, good portions. Had the dark meat chicken with 2 sides, salad and the mac. The service at the front is very friendly. The prices are a big draw point since it is quite cheap for the area for what you get honestly. The chicken itself was decent, the skin had most of the flavor and the meat was cooked well but didn't have much inherent flavor itself. BBQ sauce used with it was light and sweet, worked pretty well with the bbq though I'm more of a savory than a sweet as far as preference. The mac was mac, simple but needed some spice as did the meat of the chicken. The salad I liked since you can add in whatever veggies you wanted, all the dressings are store bought. This isn't extravagant. It won't wow you imo but for a quick bite at a good price with good portions, this is easily one of the better deals you'll get in the area if that is what your aim is. The pork ribs and the sides (corn/cob, corn bread, and the salad) were absolutely delicious and would rate 5 stars. The Tri-Tip, however, was very tough, sliced in thick chunks, and barely edible. Very disappointed in the Tri-Tip. The sauces and salad dressing that were included were outstanding. The salad was crisp & delicious, and included salad toppings of your choice . The portions are very generous. I will definitely go back for the pork ribs, and to try the chicken , brisket , pork slices, and pulled pork, but would probably pass on ordering the Tri-Tip again unless I knew for sure that it would be tender. We have ordered pretty much all of the meats at one time or another and they are always hot, juicy and flavorful! I'm a huge fan of their teriyaki chicken but seriously, all the meats are delicious. And then there's the cornbread.. my Southern grandma would be mad at me for how much I love this cornbread. It's a huge portion and comes with honey butter.
