    2 Egg Breakfast With Meat
    Jackie C.

I've been wanting to try this place for a while and I finally stopped by on a Tuesday. Upon arrival we were greeted by one of the servers. We were quickly sat, given menus and greeted by the server. When we first walked in it seemed very quiet but when we were sat there was a couple tables dining in. I got a coffee and my boyfriend went with a soda. The coffee was good. I went with the 2 egg breakfast with apple sausage and a biscuit as my bread option, I am so glad I did. The eggs were cooked perfectly (soft), the chicken apple sausage was tasty, the biscuit was soft and the hashbrowns were crispy. My boyfriend ordered the French toast, which came with berries and some type of berry sauce. That was also good. The server checked in with us often, which I appreciate. Overall, the food was good , the service was good and I would definetly come back.

    Coffee Pear Pancakes

Stopped by this unassuming cafe while waiting for my car to be serviced. Based on reviews, had to try the pear and coffee pancake which was amazing and huge. We enjoyed it for desert later in the day. Chilequilles were pleasantly different from what I have experienced at other restaurants which I love. Staff was very kind and attentive. I will definitely will return.

Ridiculous amount of fat off my New York steak. I think there was more fat than edible meat.

Today's my birthday and I wanted to try something new. I had a particular craving for steak and eggs. We've had Colibrí on our radar for a while but have never been. When I saw they offered a steak and egg breakfast, we decided to give it a shot. The interior of the restaurant is very odd. Dark, depressing vibe with painted red walls and outdated decor. Today is 86° but it felt like they had the heater running. No way we could stay seated inside so we asked to switch to their outdoor seating in the front of the restaurant. Honestly wasn't much better but at least we had a bit of a breeze. Service was a little slow but they were very nice. My husband ordered their country plate which came with biscuits and gravy, sausage, bacon, eggs, and hashbrowns (home fries was an option as well). We were surprised when the plate arrived and only had one slice of bacon and one egg (there were two sausages). My husband said his biscuit tasted off- like old oil or something. He enjoyed the other parts of his meal. I ordered the New York steak (specifically requested medium rare) and over-easy eggs. My meal also included home fries, fruit, and toast. My steak was the most pitiful excuse for a piece of meat. It was very thin, cooked way past well done, and was 60% fat. The potatoes were good and my eggs were cooked as requested. This place is kind of out of our way so we probably won't be back given the meal we experienced today. Service was nice so I don't mean to dock any points for that- they deserve 5 stars. Colibri's menu is quite extensive; I think they would do well to pare that down and focus on excelling at fewer dishes rather than trying to offer so many options.

    Chicken and waffles

A quiet breakfast experience with a delicious chicken cutlet and soft waffles with a little less sweetness which I like as it makes the syrup stand out. They had super thick syrup which I liked a lot. The chicken cutlet was not dry at all which I was so happy about because white meat can dry out if you look at it wrong. Such a good meal. My husband had the pancakes and I actually got a bite even though he had to finish my plate but the pancakes were spongy and delicious and held the syrup well. I enjoyed how secluded our seat was from others, low lit inside with pretty wooded accents and low volume. The staff was attentive and even offered us more syrup. I was pleasantly surprised.

Alberto's burger and the Texas cheesesteak.

Such a hidden gem for delicious food! The Alberto's Fire Burger was probably one of the best burgers we have tried. Perfectly seasoned, perfectly cooked, nice spice level. The roll on the Texas Cheese Steak was great. I tried the monte cristo on a prior visit and ate it all before a picture. Our server was very polite and did a great job.

    Country Plate (meh)

Went here for breakfast with my wife. It was disappointing. She had the NY steak and eggs. She ordered the steak med-rare and it was more than well done. This is probably because the cut was very thin. Literally about 1/3 or more of the steak was fat. I had the Country Plate which was okay. The biscuits had a really strange flavor that almost tased like old oil or wax. I was surprised there was only one piece of bacon and one egg. It was so hot inside we opened yes to air outside where it was cooler (83 deg). The service was friendly though. I'd give this place another chance.

    BBQ beef sandwich

Colibri has been serving great food for over 20 years and it's about time for me to share my appreciation after years of dining here. In addition to great BBQ, they do have an exceptional breakfast menu. However, I am partial to the BBQ beef sandwich or the baby back pork sandwich. Whatever is your preference, you won't be disappointed.

5 star service with 5 star food. This place has the best burger I have ever tasted, Albertos Fire Burger. My husband couldnt make up his mind so he ordered 2 sandwiches, the Pastrami sandwich AND hot link sandwich. He enjoyed both. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive. We will definately be going back to this place.

    Hot Link Benedict

Will always come back here for the best breakfasts. The chicken fried steak sandwich was a special and definitely required a few napkins but was so yummy and didn't fall apart like most texas toast sandwiches. I will forever and always get the hot link Benedict, the chipotle hollandaise is by far the best hollandaise in SoCo. The booth we sat at was super comfy, service was great as always, and really enjoyed the chai tea latte that I got which came dairy free.

I've been here twice now and the service is consistently friendly and accommodating. Staff are knowledgeable and the chef preps almost everything himself which equals to the food being amazing. I don't feel heavy and sleepy when I leave so that is my indication that I will be back!!! Don't sleep on this little hidden gem!!

Our waiter was very attentive and professional, and overall we were pleased with our experience. We ordered: Menudo: This comes with a pork hock and loooooots of tripas. My limes were a bit dry, but aside from that the flavor was very spot on and it was very filling. Tres leches french toast: Yummmmm, delicious! I'm not sure how 'tres leches'-y it was, but definitely milky, moist, and crunchy on the outside. It worked for me! Conchas: Ok this actually blew me away. I'm used to conchas being dry and not very satisfying, but these literally stayed soft DAYS after I brought them home. The souffle topping on top covered the entire top of the concha and this was an absolute delight. Honestly, best conchas I've had in the US so far. I wouldn't mind coming here again and trying other items. Personally, the loudness of the "birthday music" (reggaeton) was a little much for a morning/brunch hour, but people seemed to enjoy the hype.

My boyfriend and I ordered wine, the artichoke dip, mussels, tagliatelle, 1/2 chicken, and bread pudding. There was a good variety of wine to choose from and the waitress was nice enough to give me a couple samples before ordering a full glass. We were surprised by the lemon / tangy flavor in the artichoke dip but really enjoyed it! We LOVED the mussels--this was a generous serving, and this was a great combination with the broth and sausage. The tagliatelle was clearly homemade and fresh, and the sauce was flavorful but light; the only thing I would change is the amount of peas / pea flavor. The chicken skin was perfectly crispy! Lastly, the bread pudding was literally baked fresh to the point where we almost couldn't order it. The staff told us it would be a bit of a wait, but when it took a little longer than expected, they continued to check in on us and whether we still wanted to wait. It was definitely worth it! It wasn't as sweet / cinnamon-y as other bread puddings that I've had, but was moist without being soggy and felt like a true homemade recipe. The ambiance was casual yet intimate, and despite being busy, didn't feel crowded or loud. We also appreciated that the wait staff didn't rush us out!
