Lavender By The Bay in Calverton is a beautiful, family-run lavender farm spanning 17-30+ acres,…read morefilled with vibrant rows of English and French lavender that stretch out like a fragrant purple sea. Established in 2018 as a sister site to their original East Marion location, it has quickly become a must-visit summer destination on Long Island. Why visit? The bloom season is absolutely stunning--French lavender peaks from mid-June to early July, followed by a second English lavender bloom later in the summer. The setting is peaceful and incredibly photogenic, with Adirondack chairs scattered throughout the fields--perfect for golden-hour photo ops. They also have a charming farm stand with handmade lavender products, including soaps, sachets, essential oils, honey from their own hives, and even live bees and chickens that help support the farm's ecosystem. We even found some all-natural dog treats for Luna! As for pet-friendliness, this place is great. Friendly, leashed, and vaccinated dogs are welcome to stroll the grounds. The wide, open paths make it easy to walk with your pup, and there's plenty of space for them to sniff around and enjoy the scenery. The only downside? It's a bit pricey-$16 per person for a 1.5-hour time slot just to walk through the lavender fields. But if you're looking for a relaxing and scenic outing with your dog, it's a unique experience worth considering.

We came during peak bloom for the French lavenders in mid July. It wasn't crowded at all when we went. Even though it's recommended to buy tickets online, we had no problem buying the tickets at the door. I loved that they have chairs conveniently located in the fields so you can relax and take in the view. We had a lot of fun spending about 1.5 hours here. Please be sure to check their website for the latest bloom update before you make your trip. Also another thing to note is that there are lot of bees (understandably as it is a working farm), but it's something to keep in mind if you are allergic.

I'll be honest.. I've only experienced the smell of lavender through things like Glade Plug-ins and incense (embarrassing I know), so I was totally blown away by and caught off guard by how much I enjoyed it. The visual of the fields is simply breathtaking. The vibrant purple hues stretch literally as far as my eyes could see. If you're terrified of bees, perhaps sit this one out however even with my fear of bugs, I was somehow in a calm, relaxed state the entire time. One of the highlights was their super charming lavender shop. The shelves were filled with an array of lavender-infused products and if you're anything like me, you'll be tempted to smell and buy each one. I bought a few oils for my mom and a bar of natural honey soap for myself. I'm excited to try it! If you haven't been to Lavender by the Bay just yet, do yourself a favor and escape the hustle and bustle of daily life already by coming here! Use this review as your reminder to add Lavender by the Bay to your summer bucket list.

It is apparently the largest in New England. They even have a fairy garden. It really is picturesque. It was a drive for me but worth it. The farm was beautiful and unlike anything I've ever seen or smelled. The lavender plants were so pretty with bees buzzing everywhere. The gift shop was filled to the brim with local items and many lavender products such as bug spray, soaps, hand sanitizers, etc. We went on the trolley and the driver was very informative about the property. They are also fully solar powered. If you love farms, flowers, and wholesome activities, this is worth the visit.

We love going into the shop and buying dried lavender and their lavender lemonade, and I have so many of their lip balms now it's not even funny. Definitely a must do right now because it's their peak season.

I brought my niece and nephew, and we easily had one of the funnest afternoons! The Barnyard Adventure is a paid area ($28.95 per person on weekends), but with eight acres packed full of things to do, it's worth every penny. To put the size in perspective ... it's like exploring six football fields lined up together! The highlights for the kids included getting up close with a variety of farm animals, a trike track, sports zone, and multiple playgrounds, pig races, a musical hayride ... there truly is something for all ages. The atmosphere is lively, especially with those pig races and musical hayride tours. My niece and nephew were totally engaged from start to finish. There are plenty of food stands throughout the property with the classic farm favorites. Apple cider donuts (my personal fav), popcorn, ice cream, and coffee stands for the grown-ups. Speaking of adults, a huge bonus is the vineyard right on the property. I treated myself to a glass of rosé to enjoy while the kids played, which was a nice addition. It does get busy, but the whole setup is well organized that it does not feel too crowded. Barnyard Adventure is one of those rare places that charms both kids and adults, making it a perfect fall or weekend family destination. I can't wait to come back next year for more memories (and donuts) with my niece and nephew!!

You can bring in picnic food if you wish, but they had hot dogs and basics to purchase as well as a small farm stand in the front. I would highly recommend for families with children of various ages but more geared toward 10 and under. Cant wait to go back again this summer.

Came here for lavender picking by the bucket and we had such an incredible time relaxing, walking around the fields, taking photos and hearing the music of the bees as we walked through the fields. If you stop for a moment, you hear their little choir in perfect synchrony. Came here during the week and it was very quiet and not too many people were around so it was perfect. Absolutely obsessed with the lavender lemonade and all the lavender products. The best part about this place is that there's no fee to walk around or hang around the fields. You pay for what you pick and they have different sizing options. Lavender is only seasonal of course but you can find out what they have in season of pick the beautiful wildflowers if they're around. To be honest just coming out here to relax is an experience itself. They have continuous different types of workshops available done right at the open area (it has a cover so in case it's too hot or it rains you're good!). Make sure to check out what classes and things they have going on on their ig or on their website. Bottom line, gorgeous space, dreamy vibes and incredible owners.
