    Baby goats!

A hidden gem! We love the Suffolk County Farm. We've been coming here for six years and even had a few birthday parties here - complete with a tractor ride and pumpkin picking. They have many family events here, we've done food trucks at the farm where they brought an alpaca around to the picnic tables as well (I mean cuteness overload). They offer goat yoga which I've been wanting to try for some time now, and I am definitely in need of more zen in my life. Suffolk County Farm is a great place to visit, especially if you have children. It is also through the Cornell Extension and they aim to provide hands-on research based learning in agriculture. You can buy feed for $2 for the goats and sheep. There is also a special butterfly area where you will see beautiful monarchs and other butterfly species. Highly recommend the farm - I would suggest to skip the sandals and wear comfortable shoes instead that you don't mind getting a little dirty (aka leave your all-white sneaks at home).

Came here on a field trip with my kindergarten classes and we had the time of our lives! The staff were incredibly professional, kind, and patient. The animals were so precious and most were pregnant, which is so exciting because there will be an event next month showing off the baby animals. Overall, our trip was very fun and the kids are still so happy about their experience. Can't wait to come back with another class or some family and friends.

So many things to love here! Great for a visit with the little ones. They can feed the goats and visit the sheep, ducks, horses and turkeys. I loved the flower garden and the composting explainer and demo. In the summer they have an enclosed butterfly garden.

Met up with some friends here to have my daughter checkout some baby animals. I was surprised as to how packed it was. I mean the lot was FULL and yet there was not even a listing for the farm. The farm itself appears to be huge. It serves as a veterinary training center as well. The event was geared towards the baby animals the farm had They had a couple of food trucks there as well (probably could have used a couple more, the lines were long), a bluegrass group, some demonstrations and various areas for the little ones to run around in. Oh, and wagon rides as well. I thought there might be more baby animals, but my daughter was content. She had a good time. The sinks by the feeding area were not working and no sanitizer was provided. Luckily every good parent carries some.

Best birthday ever at the Suffolk County Farm & Education Center!

This is a full blown local farm stand that happens to also serve up a variety of pies and hosts family-friendly events, which there is an admission fee for. On this day, there was a full-blown fall festival so parking did prove to be somewhat challenging and the farm stand was packed with people. But again, I'm here for the pies. I've been coming here for years. The price of their pies is comparable to others. For me personally, prices of local produce and other local products (e.g., honey, cheeses, fudge, and bread, fresh-cut flowers) are indeed pricey but no more than one would expect for a local small business farm on Long Island. While I came for the pie, I did leave with a little more. I was hungry and the smell of roasted corn got me. It did not disappoint even with the strange slab of butter given on the side when I said yes to it. I rubbed it on the hot corn and it worked just fine. The roasted corn was sweet and bursting with yumminess. Okay, back to the pie. They are constantly bringing out warm pies from the back as you choose. This time around I picked one that I've had before. It's Fruits of the Forest. It's different from the traditional ones. I highly recommend especially if you're looking for something different and delicious. For dessert at home, I warmed it up and added vanilla ice cream and whipped cream. On deck for the morning breakfast, the double crumb cake served with coffee. According to my hubby (a tough critic because he doesn't enjoy baked goods as much as I do), the cake enhanced our coffee flavor. In reading other reviews, there seems to be quite of few disappointed visitors. On this visit and my others in the past, I've had good experiences. It's worth at least a try especially if you like pie (like me)!

This year, what a disappointment. The apple was okay, and the pumpkin tasted artificial. Next year, back to Costco, better pies and a whole lot cheaper.

"Disappointed by a Normally Great Experience"…read more I've always enjoyed stopping by Sunny Farms for lunch and usually have a good experience. However, today was disappointing. I was in a rush during my lunch hour and didn't notice until a few minutes later that I was charged $6.99 for a single bottle of water--not a case. Fortunately, I wasn't far and went back with my receipt and the bottle. What left me unsettled wasn't just the mistake, but how the return was handled. The receipt was snatched from my hands and crumpled, and though I was told I would get $7.40 back, I was initially handed only $5.40. When I questioned it, the cashier turned around, pulled out the $2, and handed it over, explaining the process as if I had misunderstood something. No apology was offered for either the overcharge or the mix-up with the refund. I get that mistakes happen--we're all human--but customer service is about how those mistakes are handled. This time, it missed the mark. I'll continue to shop here, but I'll definitely be double-checking receipts moving forward.
