This city kid is still learning a thing or two about the Island. We went to our family friend son's birthday party here. And if it wasn't for this party, I wouldn't have known this place existed. From what I understand it was $300 to rent the place for a few hours, a tractor ride for your guests and an animal feeding session. Bubs had a BLAST being that the farm is thing. My friend was able to bring her own food and she put out a great breakfast spread. Let me tell you, this was a great kids birthday party from the perspective of the parents and the children who LOVED every part of the farm and the party. What's not to love! It's free and you get to see a lot of animals. The turkeys may be the best . There was a goat trying to make noises that could have lead to a role in The Exorcist. Why leave it exclusively to children! read more

We arrived here at 1:30pm on Saturday. My friends and I had the farm all to ourselves. I was shocked that there was no admission cost. You can purchase a seeds bag for $3. Also, they sell honey where you check in. I love seeing all the animals up close and personal. It was hilarious watching them rushing toward us when they saw the seeds bag. I have to warn you, this farm is huge. It's easy to get lost. For example, one of my friends was distracted. Thus, she was separated from us. We were lucky that we had our cellphones. A hidden gem! We love the Suffolk County Farm. We've been coming here for six years and even had a few birthday parties here - complete with a tractor ride and pumpkin picking. They have many family events here, we've done food trucks at the farm where they brought an alpaca around to the picnic tables as well (I mean cuteness overload). They offer goat yoga which I've been wanting to try for some time now, and I am definitely in need of more zen in my life. Suffolk County Farm is a great place to visit, especially if you have children. It is also through the Cornell Extension and they aim to provide hands-on research based learning in agriculture. You can buy feed for $2 for the goats and sheep. There is also a special butterfly area where you will see beautiful monarchs and other butterfly species. Highly recommend the farm - I would suggest to skip the sandals and wear comfortable shoes instead that you don't mind getting a little dirty (aka leave your all-white sneaks at home). read more

Came here on a field trip with my kindergarten classes and we had the time of our lives! The staff were incredibly professional, kind, and patient. The animals were so precious and most were pregnant, which is so exciting because there will be an event next month showing off the baby animals. Overall, our trip was very fun and the kids are still so happy about their experience. Can't wait to come back with another class or some family and friends. read more

So many things to love here! Great for a visit with the little ones. They can feed the goats and visit the sheep, ducks, horses and turkeys. I loved the flower garden and the composting explainer and demo. In the summer they have an enclosed butterfly garden. read more

Came here with our toddler one Saturday because she has been asking to go to a zoo or farm. Our SIL recommended this place, so we tried it out and loved it. There is no admission fee, but we donated $20 and they gifted us a beautiful snake plant (something we've been wanting!) Our toddler enjoyed the playground very much: the cute bunnies, horses, cows, enormous but adorable pigs, chickens, llamas, sheep, goats etc. She was frightened by the turkeys (I would be too at her age), but it was nice they even had turkeys there. Gees, lost count of how many and what other farm animals there were, but to my point, there's a wide range of them, making this a destination your toddler will love. read more

Met up with some friends here to have my daughter checkout some baby animals. I was surprised as to how packed it was. I mean the lot was FULL and yet there was not even a listing for the farm. The farm itself appears to be huge. It serves as a veterinary training center as well. The event was geared towards the baby animals the farm had They had a couple of food trucks there as well (probably could have used a couple more, the lines were long), a bluegrass group, some demonstrations and various areas for the little ones to run around in. Oh, and wagon rides as well. I thought there might be more baby animals, but my daughter was content. She had a good time. The sinks by the feeding area were not working and no sanitizer was provided. Luckily every good parent carries some. read more

Cute place. Went there with my son on a Thursday morning. Animals are spread out so a little walking is required. Fed some goats and lamb. They also have horses, cows, pigs, chickens and more. Pretty clean with not many people on a Thursday. Everyone was very respectful and wearing masks even some young children. Very impressed. Go visit and support this place! read more

After spending Mother's Day here, we fell in love with this farm. We just had my daughter's 3rd birthday party here today and it was the best party ever!! We went on a hay ride which stopped to see all of the animals, and the kids all got to feed them. After that everyone got to pick a pumpkin, and then back to the party area where we ate and had our cupcakes. Adam and Holly, along with the rest of the staff, were amazing. All of the parents were impressed at what a great party it was. This farm will be a regular trip for our family for years to come. read more

I've been there several times this summer. There is an adjacent equestrian field (not sure if it's related to the farm) but times where there are horse shows going on, it's a little crowded. Other times, the lot is empty. It's a good sized farm. There is an ok amount of animals- goats, sheep, a horse, bunnies, cows, some pigs, some chickens and 2 llamas, but it's a nice place to walk around for free. Pick up a bag of animal food ($2) and have fun feeding the goats and sheep. The butterfly house is nice too. It's a nice place to spend an hour or 2. read more

Went with 4 kids ages 4-10 Admission is free and food cups are $3 with $1 refills and you can keep the cups for additional uses so definitely wallet friendly if that's a concern. Lots of typical Farm animals most of which can be touched. Also some play areas, it is a farm so plan to get a little dirty. Staff was really nice and patient and informative. Only star loss is for safety concerns: Most of the walkways are actively being used by Farm equipment and trucks by Farm but that's minor. More of a concern was we turned a corner and convicts from the jail were there, under guard of course, working with an area cordoned off. Really didn't like that part since it is a family activity. But other than that it was a great little morning trip would absolutely recommend to anybody interested. read more

The Suffolk County Farm is a working farm and educational facility associated with 4-H and the Cornell Agricultural Cooperative Extension. The facility is open in season, and is famous (infamous?) for its "baby animal day". Regarding that: GET THERE EARLY. At *least* 30 mins before opening (10 am?) The web site says that no cars are allowed on site before 10 am, which was not true, at least this year. I was expecting to wait in a line of early cars, but instead was shown to a parking spot. Look, the kids love the baby animals, & it was much better organized this year (2015) than last year. Don't judge this place just on the madness of Baby Animal Day, which is actually a lot of fun (and not expensive). Just be prepared, & you'll love it, & maybe more so on a quiet day. One more thing - they're more about education & agriculture than White Post Farms, which seems to be more about the green in your wallet than the green in the fields ... read more
