Finished with a refreshing pumpkin beer or hard apple cider I always grab some jam and honey jars to go. Planning to go back before the fall season is over. The prices are so much more reasonable then the tourist traps out east!

I didn't look at the wine, as it was all far away on a wall, and not accessible. There are some jars of preserves. Tempting, but $11. Bit expensive. They also sell baked goods, mostly cookies and pies. Nothing was marked as "gluten-free," so I had to pass. Luckily, as fall is coming and I need to fit in my clothes. There are also some cute gift shop items, like mugs and shopping totes. And a small selection of pastas. They looked REALLY good, but definitely made from wheat. Sigh. There's gelato, which looked delicious, but alas I have some at home. I would have liked a larger selection of vegetables--I wanted lettuce, specifically--but a lovely young woman behind the counter explained that they had different things at different times, depending on supply. I forgot to ask about the wine, but perhaps I'll come back with a friend. Hopefully it's a local vineyard. This isn't my idea of a "farm stand," exactly, but it's a nice place. There is a large sign saying "La Corte" INSIDE the store. Not particularly helpful, lol, but at least I eventually figured out that I was in the right place.

Sheer luck that we happened across their working fiber farm enroute to a long weekend getaway. Of course, I left with more than that one skein! I went to the Magic Hour Market, which was held in a separate area at the farm. FYI, you do not…read moreneed to complete the waiver if you're not going to the farm/brewery. I hope that I am not bombarded with emails, since you are forced to supply an email address. The grounds are beautiful. You can walk among some hops. There were also two food trucks, and a bar. I wasn't hungry, but the menus did sound great! There was a live band that was pretty good, and plenty of seating. The admission charge was $5. The market ran from 5-9 pm. I signed up for a tarot card reading, but alas it was VERY popular. It was a 3-card reading for $25. Readings took about 10-15 minutes. Unfortunately, by the time that I wanted to leave (before it got dark), he was still on the first page. So I crossed out my name. There were some very fun tables, with jewelry, perfume, and crafts, also a bookstore and a tee shirt stand. The "metaphysical" bookstore was adorable, with a fun "Blind Date with a Book" selection. There were some oracle cards and a couple of decks of tarot cards. As someone who has been to many metaphysical bookstores, and owns a decent collection of books, I wouldn't say that this store qualifies. But it's fun, and the proprietor was wearing a witch hat. I think that it was appropriate for the venue. Not for serious searchers. I browsed all the booths. There was the usual selection of stone bead bracelets. These used to be $5-7, but are now $28. H'mmm. There were craft booths, and a chain bracelet/ankle bracelet/necklace that were finished as you sat. The chains (sterling, gold, or other) were very, very, very thin and quite expensive. The people running the booths were generally very friendly. There were a couple of exceptions. The perfume lady did not have prices posted, and ignored the woman next to me, who asked for the price three times before she and her daughter left without buying anything. They had picked out two fragrances each. The perfumes were beautifully packaged, but the two that I tried on sample paper seemed to lack the notes referenced on the cards. The tee shirt guy didn't greet anyone who walked in. This was my first "fall festival" experience. While the venue is beautiful, and the vendors varied, I found the available merchandise to be extremely overpriced IMO. Granted, tariffs, inflation, etc, but prices were very high for what was offered. There were also gorgeous candles and soaps. Beautiful, and would be very nice for gifts, but IMO quite expensive for what they were. Very nicely packaged, which definitely contributed to the cost. Maybe it's just me. I had a reseller license in CO, and plan to get one in NY to sell my jewelry. So I know what stones, packaging, etc, cost wholesale. To be fair, though, that was pre-tariff. Anyway, it was a pleasant hour. I'm sorry that I wasn't hungry, because the food truck offerings were probably delicious.

If you were able to get the bulbs you could take those home too, which is a nice perk since they are perennials and will come back year after year. Plenty of parking. Tickets are cash or card. They have some goodies to also purchase on your way out. Petting farm for the kiddos (I mean I squealed when I saw the cute pigs too). Live music. Food trucks. The main nursery is open, as well. Lots of plants for sale when we went. And LI Farm Brewery is on premises!

For me personally, prices of local produce and other local products (e.g., honey, cheeses, fudge, and bread, fresh-cut flowers) are indeed pricey but no more than one would expect for a local small business farm on Long Island. While I came for the pie, I did leave with a little more. I was hungry and the smell of roasted corn got me. It did not disappoint even with the strange slab of butter given on the side when I said yes to it. I rubbed it on the hot corn and it worked just fine. The roasted corn was sweet and bursting with yumminess. Okay, back to the pie. They are constantly bringing out warm pies from the back as you choose. This time around I picked one that I've had before. It's Fruits of the Forest. It's different from the traditional ones. I highly recommend especially if you're looking for something different and delicious. For dessert at home, I warmed it up and added vanilla ice cream and whipped cream. On deck for the morning breakfast, the double crumb cake served with coffee. According to my hubby (a tough critic because he doesn't enjoy baked goods as much as I do), the cake enhanced our coffee flavor. In reading other reviews, there seems to be quite of few disappointed visitors. On this visit and my others in the past, I've had good experiences. Lots of activities and it doesn't cost anything to enter, but each activity does cost a few coin. Face painting was $10, I believe the "gold digging" demo was $6 (and there is a sign that suggests you do the other activities before getting your face painted as the paint might not last, which I appreciated). Food was available for purchase and I got a roasted corn that I was forced to split with the kid. The corn wasn't that sweet but still sufficed. I didn't get to look at the plants or any of the nursery items but I will def head back there when in the area when it's time to start planting.

"Disappointed by a Normally Great Experience"…read more I've always enjoyed stopping by Sunny Farms for lunch and usually have a good experience. However, today was disappointing. I was in a rush during my lunch hour and didn't notice until a few minutes later that I was charged $6.99 for a single bottle of water--not a case. Fortunately, I wasn't far and went back with my receipt and the bottle. What left me unsettled wasn't just the mistake, but how the return was handled. The receipt was snatched from my hands and crumpled, and though I was told I would get $7.40 back, I was initially handed only $5.40. When I questioned it, the cashier turned around, pulled out the $2, and handed it over, explaining the process as if I had misunderstood something. No apology was offered for either the overcharge or the mix-up with the refund. I get that mistakes happen--we're all human--but customer service is about how those mistakes are handled. This time, it missed the mark. I'll continue to shop here, but I'll definitely be double-checking receipts moving forward.
