A friend and I stopped at this farm stand last weekend while taking a jaunt out on eastern LI. The…read moreowners were so wonderful! It's clear this farm has been around for decades and they take care of their environment. I was just looking for a few mums but they had such an amazing collection and the colors were off the charts, that I ended up purchasing five of them!! The fruits and vegetables looked gorgeous as well, needless to say I couldn't resist the ripe tomatoes, as well as the fresh corn, and, of course, the watermelon! I was also lucky enough to score some apple cider from one of the other local farms that was being sold here and some homemade cider donuts! I love that the owners share their venue with other local vendors. For example, they also sold homemade mozzarella and farm fresh eggs from other farmers! Some of the other vegetables sold were cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, sweet potatoes, white potatoes, and lettuce, to name just a few!! Boy did I get my money's worth!! I was thrilled to support our local businesses and did my part in helping the economy!!LOL!!

Lots of corn, potatoes, tomatoes, peaches, green beans and a few plants too. No pies or meats here. Everything is priced right and the woman working at the register was super friendly and helpful. The food... so good. Sweet LI corn is the best. If you see it, stop and grab a few things. You'll be glad you did! Note: they take card! Bonus: they have a CSA and a VIP club if you want veggies on the reg or end up being a regular customer

And the bonus? Most of the time they are still warm on the bottom. Just the apple. The other flavors must be made elsewhere because the crust is not the same. No, I'm not a fan of that other place, just not impressed. More impressed with a place way further up county but it doesn't matter. Westchester Greenhouse makes the best Apple Pie. Yes, I have busted into this pie in the car many times. Forks ready. The pie is still hot, folks. Seasonally, the apple cider donuts are the best anywhere. Yes, better than That place. And that other one up there with the mazes, and bouncy houses and things you don't want or need or have to pay extra to walk on their property. Donuts. That's what that line is about. It moves fast. They hand you the box in the line, they are hot. And with more apple cider taste than those other places too. Apple pie and apple cider donuts. Oh and Wave Hill breads if you can't make it to the farmers markets. Everything else is a plus. Plants. Produce. Wreaths. It's all good. I should buy raspberries from them and tell them to make be a custom raspberry pie with that crust they have on their Apple.

It wasn't until I read through the entire ingredients of the product I consumed where I saw "macadamia nut" listed in the mix of all the other ingredients in the products & it wasn't in bold. There is a store to purchase a bunch of pies and produce as well as stands where you can get some goodies like popcorn and cookies. The building all the way to the far right is accessible to the public and when you go in, it a spacious area with a bar. They are waiting on a liquor license so you can get your apple cider slushes and chill for a bit. Apples were available for picking but Bubs for tires by the time we walked over to U-pick. We will be back when the pumpkins are full grown for sure.

I sampled some of the available apples and they were not that sweet but I had already paid for the box ($67 for one peck) so I just picked the ones that were ok. I also picked lots of string beans, so it wasn't a complete waste. I was told it was a rip off but I enjoyed the experience. Fast forward a few days and now the apples are very sweet and crisp! Better than what you get at the supermarket for sure. The green beans are also fresh and not like the mushy bags you get at Trader Joe's. There's nothing like farm to table. They also have a nice bakery with excellent cheese bread and pies. Very fresh and warm when we bought them. The location is closer to Nassau and Manhattan than other farms on Long Island. We wanted to go to Milk Pail but it was a longer drive.
