This will be…read moreone of my forever favorite farms because you can have the kids play for free out by wooden tractors and trains. There is a store to purchase a bunch of pies and produce as well as stands where you can get some goodies like popcorn and cookies. The building all the way to the far right is accessible to the public and when you go in, it a spacious area with a bar. They are waiting on a liquor license so you can get your apple cider slushes and chill for a bit. Apples were available for picking but Bubs for tires by the time we walked over to U-pick. We will be back when the pumpkins are full grown for sure.

Such a fun place with a bit of everything in U-pick. We went a bit early this year (mid-September)…read moreand a lot of apples were roped off and not ripe. I sampled some of the available apples and they were not that sweet but I had already paid for the box ($67 for one peck) so I just picked the ones that were ok. I also picked lots of string beans, so it wasn't a complete waste. I was told it was a rip off but I enjoyed the experience. Fast forward a few days and now the apples are very sweet and crisp! Better than what you get at the supermarket for sure. The green beans are also fresh and not like the mushy bags you get at Trader Joe's. There's nothing like farm to table. They also have a nice bakery with excellent cheese bread and pies. Very fresh and warm when we bought them. The location is closer to Nassau and Manhattan than other farms on Long Island. We wanted to go to Milk Pail but it was a longer drive.

This is a full blown local farm stand that happens to also serve up a variety of pies and hosts family-friendly events, which there is an admission fee for. On this day, there was a full-blown fall festival so parking did prove to be somewhat challenging and the farm stand was packed with people. But again, I'm here for the pies. I've been coming here for years. The price of their pies is comparable to others. For me personally, prices of local produce and other local products (e.g., honey, cheeses, fudge, and bread, fresh-cut flowers) are indeed pricey but no more than one would expect for a local small business farm on Long Island. While I came for the pie, I did leave with a little more. I was hungry and the smell of roasted corn got me. It did not disappoint even with the strange slab of butter given on the side when I said yes to it. I rubbed it on the hot corn and it worked just fine. The roasted corn was sweet and bursting with yumminess. Okay, back to the pie. They are constantly bringing out warm pies from the back as you choose. This time around I picked one that I've had before. It's Fruits of the Forest. It's different from the traditional ones. I highly recommend especially if you're looking for something different and delicious. For dessert at home, I warmed it up and added vanilla ice cream and whipped cream. On deck for the morning breakfast, the double crumb cake served with coffee. According to my hubby (a tough critic because he doesn't enjoy baked goods as much as I do), the cake enhanced our coffee flavor. In reading other reviews, there seems to be quite of few disappointed visitors. On this visit and my others in the past, I've had good experiences. It's worth at least a try especially if you like pie (like me)!

This year, what a disappointment. The apple was okay, and the pumpkin tasted artificial. Next year, back to Costco, better pies and a whole lot cheaper.

It's clear this farm has been around for decades and they take care of their environment. I was just looking for a few mums but they had such an amazing collection and the colors were off the charts, that I ended up purchasing five of them!! The fruits and vegetables looked gorgeous as well, needless to say I couldn't resist the ripe tomatoes, as well as the fresh corn, and, of course, the watermelon! I was also lucky enough to score some apple cider from one of the other local farms that was being sold here and some homemade cider donuts! I love that the owners share their venue with other local vendors. For example, they also sold homemade mozzarella and farm fresh eggs from other farmers! Some of the other vegetables sold were cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, sweet potatoes, white potatoes, and lettuce, to name just a few!! Boy did I get my money's worth!! I was thrilled to support our local businesses and did my part in helping the economy!!LOL!!

Lots of corn, potatoes, tomatoes, peaches, green beans and a few plants too. No pies or meats here. Everything is priced right and the woman working at the register was super friendly and helpful. The food... so good. Sweet LI corn is the best. If you see it, stop and grab a few things. You'll be glad you did! Note: they take card!
