The staff is well trained and they use updated equiptment , that said it is unfortunate that multiple messasges left at the optical department have been igored. Very friendly people and had great experience here a couple years back. Went for recent eye exam and new glasses. Lens were not ordered properly and had to return them. New lens put in and then Glasses do not fit well - slide down nose. Brought in and a slight adjustment Was made to arms. Still slide down. Wore only a few times and now the plastic wire rim is coming loose. Seriously their product suppliers must have changed and the guy fitting glasses needs training. Between the two pairs I've spent over $1000 and too many trips to Red Bank. Will see how they handle this latest problem. read more

I recently moved to the area and needed to find a new eye doctor for a check-up and new contacts. Dr. Curtis and her staff provided me with exceptional comfort and care from the moment I booked my first appointment. Finding all new doctors has been a little overwhelming but I felt right at home once I stepped into their office. The practice is well-located in Red Bank with a cozy and modern decor. Moments after signing the new patient forms I was taken back with Jamie for check-up questioning and a few tests which were quick but comprehensive. I really appreciated how both Jamie and Dr. Curtis explained what they were doing and why, which is something my prior facility never did. I highly recommend this practice and am SO happy to have found them! read more

I had a great experience at Red Bank Eye and highly recommend them. I am new to the area and needed new contacts during covid. The employee who assisted with my appointment was great. They have excellent covid protocols and I was the only patient there during my appointment. The doctor was knowledgeable and thorough. I love that they leverage technology and everything was online. Dr. Sonia Bassily has been our family eye doctor for many years! She is always very peasant and professional, she leaves no stone unturned! She identified a small spot in the vasculature of my eye, via X-ray, and she followed me until it cleared 100%! She spent well over an hour with me on two ( 2 hours total) separate visits until she was confident my eyes were healthy. She is considerate, patient and very thorough! During the evaluations she explains all her steps in a way that is easily understood by all - not always the case with health care professionals. During my last visit she learned I was not 100% pleased with the new glasses I ordered and she spoke with Rich Striffolino about making a change. Rich was more than accommodating and kind and assisted me in finding a new frame that worked well for me. They trust their patients and treat them with respect from the start of the experience to the end. The staff is always smiling and if they make you wait 5 minutes over your appointment time they come to the waiting room to apologize. A great business model that many can learn from. read more

When I called I was asked to go on line to complete paper work and could make an appointment there. I spent over 35 minutes to complete their paper work and made the appointment on line as well. After arranging my schedule to free up time for the appointment, I was told, when I arrived, they didn't have me on schedule. I advised the staff member that I completed their paper work on line as well. They said they didn't have that either. They were really taken back, though, when I pulled out copies of my on line records that I printed for my records. Unapologetic they told me that I had to make another appointment and come back another day to get my exam and they couldn't / wouldn't fit me in. Talk about Customer Service and lack thereof, this place is filled with the WOKE that don't know what the H___ they're doing. I never went back and found a more reputable eyescare center. read more

Not only is she kind and patient (I get freaked out about eyes... but with her I forgot about it!) she is thorough, compassionate, and caring! This place is exhausting, truly. I saw great reviews of Dr. Curtis on Yelp, so when I was looking for a place to call my new home optometrist's office, I gave them a ring. Dr. Curtis was out on maternity leave (this was in 2013), so I made an appointment with her stand-in. I double-checked with them that they accepted my health insurance, went in for an eye exam, & all seemed to be fine. I later learned that while Dr. Curtis would've accepted my insurance, her sub did not, so I was responsible for the full cost of my exam - something that surely they could've mentioned before I came in, when I first asked about insurance? After much back & forth, they finally agreed to waive the cost, given that it was their mistake in the first place. Two full years later, I have blessedly left New Jersey & returned to my home state of Ohio. I had an appointment at my longtime optometrist's office & was trying to fill them in on my last appointment, plus ask about a problem I'm having with my glasses. To try to pinpoint the problem with my glasses, they wanted to know my past prescription, which was given to me by Red Bank Family Eyecare (though I didn't purchase the glasses through them, just received the prescription from them). When I called & explained what I was looking for, the very curt, bored-sounding receptionist told me she had "no idea" how to find that information & that she "probably [didn't] have access to it." She did take my name & number & said she'd ask someone else in the office to try to find it. I later received a voicemail from someone else at the practice, who told me that because I had not ordered my glasses through them, they had no record of my pupillary distance (a basic prescription measurement), despite the fact that they were the ones who wrote me the prescription. Does this place not keep their patients' records on file? They only keep note of my prescription if I order my glasses through them? My home optometrists' office can literally provide my prescription for the last 20 years, so I have NO IDEA what Red Bank Family Eyecare is doing. They're friendly enough for New Jersey, but it's a low bar, as this recent interaction reminded me of how generally horrible customer service is at doctors' offices in the Garden State. Sentences like "I have no idea" are NOT the norm elsewhere, & my annoyance for this practice & so many others in New Jersey boiled up all over again upon having to deal with Red Bank Family Eyecare again this week. Frankly, I look forward to never interacting with them again. read more

Our son was having some irritation in his eyes, so we asked around and Red Bank Eye kept being recommended. Our experience was nothing short of superb. They were COVID conscious, organized, and so welcoming. Our four-year-old had never been to an eye doctor before, but at every step the staff went out of their way to make him feel comfortable. Dr. Curtis was excellent with him, and took the time to explain things to both of us. I'm so grateful the people we asked recommended Red BankEye. We'll be doing the same. read more

I've been going here since about 15 years ago when the optometrist was Dr. Johnston, who has since retired, with Dr. Curtis now in charge. Like others said, it's a friendly, clean, professional place, with quick turnaround on contacts/glasses and timely service. A totally comfortable experience all around. I had a horrible experience here with my son with dr bej and I'm a physician! She examined my son and told me he had a slew of issues and needed glasses (I was only there bc I took my older son for an exam before K..he's had no vision issues) We were discussing glasses and an appt needed to dilate him etc. Of course at the appt I had my "mom" hat on. By the time we were exiting the office I had a million questions and asked if I could speak with the doctor. After the woman got up to ask, she came back and told me the dr was eating and couldn't speak with me bc she had a very busy afternoon and needed to eat. I asked if she could call me. The woman fumbled for a card that had an email address that I could email my questions and they would ask her. Never in my 12 years of practicing would I EVER not speak to someone because I was eating. I basically grab what I can between patients. I actually would have been satisfied with a call.. In the end, I never got an email address. I said I was upset and left. Furthermore, they say this woman is s "pediatric" optometrist but she has no extra training in peds. Very upset. read more

Kindest optometrist I've ever seen! Seems to be truly passionate about her practice and shows great care for her patients. I saw her in 2011 (when I still had insurance) and was impressed that she gave me multiple appointments to make sure my eye health was optimal before suggesting different contact lens brands for my always-dry eyes. I just moved to the area and have needed to do something about my lack of vision for quite some time. I have had multiple eye doctors try and correct my complicated eye problems, but nothing was optimal. I am thrilled to say that Dr Curtis took the time and the focus to get me in contacts and eye glasses I can see in fabulously!! Her office is beautiful and I have been happy with her office manager and in house optician as well. My husband went to her too and is also thrilled with her new contact lenses for him. Just yesterday my husband and I had eye exams with Dr. Curtis, and were thrilled with everything. Dr. Curtis is kind, caring, thorough, knowledgeable, and answers your questions great. I just moved to New Jersey and am so excited that my first attempt at finding an eye doctor was so successful. My sister-in-law also went here, and loved it too. I have prism, which is difficult to prescribe, and I'm really happy with the results. The office has a perfect selection of glasses--there is a wide variety, but it's not completely overwhelming where it's difficult to make a decision. The optician was also helpful! The location in Red Bank is great too, and the office is very clean. I highly recommend! read more

Parking is a pain in Red Bank and Dr. Curtis office does not provide parking so allow lots of time to find a space. I went for a contact lens evaluation. Dr. Curtis charges more than others in the area and gives less time. Any problems with the contacts afterwards you are billed for but other eye doctors in the area allow a few times back to work out the kinks of new contacts before charging. Also, usually a wait time so don't expect to get in and out in a timely fashion. read more

wonderful practice. i take my kids here and the staff is super friendly and helpful. the drs are great and the glasses selection is huge! they even special ordered for my daughter in another frame color. there is no designated parking so bring change for meters. on one occasion the staff went out and fed the meter for me (really nice of them because my littlest one was asleep.) you can book appointments online and get txt reminders and notifications when glasses are ready which is super helpful and convenient. read more
