I had services provided more than a year ago and they still haven't figured out how to bill my insurance company. I've called them more than a dozen times only to speak with someone who was a total incompetent & after explaining how to do the billing the idiot continually sends me an invoice & then sends the account out for collection. I've dropped the company & now work with another eyecare provider & recommend that you steer away from this unprofessional, arrogant bunch of idiots. The doctor on staff has no bedside manner & I'm glad not to have to deal with him or his staff ever again.

I had the most negative experience with Jaime Costello of Clarkson Eyecare. I have never received…read moresuch unprofessional and inadequate care in all the years that I have been seeing an eye professional. I was referred to this practice by my husband. He gave the practice a great review. He, however, was seen by John Costello, not Jamie. I am a healthcare provider and have always introduced myself as I enter the patient's room. I had to guess if this was the technician or the provider until I asked who she was. After determining that she was the provider, Jamie launched into monologue (not dialogue) about how I was misdiagnosed by my long-time eye care professional about my dominant eye. She indicated to me that not only was I misdiagnosed, but the contacts that I was wearing were the wrong prescription. I had to stop her monologue and state that I had not experienced any vision problems with my current contact lens prescription. She was insistent that I needed to have the power and dominance changed and proceeded to give me a new pair of contacts. This was after I told her repeatedly that I was there for an annual eye exam, not a contact lens consult. Much against my better judgement, I put the new contacts in. I could not see anything but a blur. I must have stressed this to Jamie many times after putting the newer prescription lens in. My voice was never acknowledged. Jamie said I would have to get used to them and stated further that I shouldn't drive a car for a few days. What kind of professional advice is that?!!!! Jamie then proceeded to state that " I want to dilate your eyes today, but I won't." Again, what professional says that?!!! I indicated that I had hypertension and as a standard, had annual dilatation to exam the vessels in my eyes. It is a standard of care that patients with hypertension have a dilated eye exam annually. Patients are entitled to this standard of care!! In all, the exam took 20 minutes. As a healthcare provider I spend at least 30 minutes with a new patient. The ingredients that were missed with Jamie were failure to perform a comprehensive, quality eye exam for baseline data, failure to obtain a subjective history, dispensing a prescription without clinical indications. I have no recourse but to report Jamie to the Board of Examiners of Ophthalmic Dispensers and Ophthalmic Technicians. Jamie needs to review standard principles of a comprehensive eye exam as well as taking a course in public relations. The frightening part of this is how many times has this inadequate care been going on for. How many times has Jamie dismissed a patient's concerns or not completed a comprehensive eye exam? This represents a huge problem for senior citizens who lack a working knowledge of the standards of eye care. I was then verbally humiliated because Jamie could not believe that I did not have a pair of glasses. She stated, " I can't believe that you don't own a pair of glasses." I thought to myself, what if I can't afford a pair of glasses? I was then ushered to the front of the office where I was met by Jill. I was pressured into exploring the progressive lens option despite my repeatedly stating that I had tried them in the past and they were not an option for me. At this point all I wanted to do was leave and get home to remove the contacts that Jamie had insisted on giving me. I called the office later that same day and spoke with the practice manager Dana. I relayed my negative experience about the visit to her and requested that I be given a refund since the care was not what I made the appointment for. She offered an appointment with John Costello. I declined this quite out of concern that my eye care needs would be incomplete and not comprehensive. Again, I will be sending an official complaint to the certifying organization for failure to perform a comprehensive/quality eye exam for baseline data, failure to obtain a subjective history, and dispensing a prescription without clinical indications. I strongly urge the public to read this review and find another eye care provider. I needed to give a star rating, I was forced to give a 1 star. I should have been a negative 5 star !

InVision Eye Care - Cracks on both lenses.

    InVision Eye Care

I recently visited Invision Eye Care for what I believed would be a simple eyeglass exam, only to…read morewalk away feeling confused, frustrated, and completely disrespected by both the front-desk staff and the office manager. What happened: After eight months of recovering from retinal detachment surgery, my prescription had changed twice. I finally secured new insurance that would cover my eye exams--but it doesn't kick in until May 1st. I scheduled an appointment specifically for an eyeglass exam only and made it clear at check-in that I could not afford the (separate) contact lens exam until after May 1st. Unbeknownst to me, the doctor proceeded to perform both the eyeglass and contact-lens exams. I thought she was merely "tweaking" my existing contact prescription, so I didn't question it. The next day, I received a call from Susan ( who said she was the office manager ) at Invision telling me I owed $85 for the contact exam I had explicitly asked not to have. When I explained that I had not authorized or even realized a second exam was done, she brusquely replied, "Why didn't you stop the doctor?" and insisted I return the trial contacts. I then spoke with Niessa, the office manager, hoping for some understanding or compromise. Instead, she was condescending and rude--telling me it was entirely my fault for allowing the exam and that I must pay both charges. Why this matters: Lack of clear communication. I explicitly declined the contact-lens exam, yet no one bothered to confirm with me when the doctor performed it. Unprofessional customer service. Both Susan and Niessa refused to listen or offer any courtesy goodwill. Rather than resolving a genuine misunderstanding, they treated me like I was the problem. Lost trust (and a patient). Over an $85 fee, Invision Eye Care has now lost my future business--along with the cataract appointment I had already scheduled at that office. Bottom line: I understand policies exist, but a little empathy and clear communication go a long way. I left feeling like I wasn't respected as a patient or even a customer. Until Invision trains their staff to listen first and assume good faith, I cannot, in good conscience, recommend them.

I very pleased with him. He was very thorough, very patient, professional, and answered all of my questions. Unfortunately, he left this organization. Then I was going to Dr Naadimuthup, who was also excellent. I was then advised that she was no longer handling the regular patients. So for the next several years I met with several other MDs and ODs, who were competent, but not very customer friendly. The last MD that I recently met with was Dr. Kanengiser. My appointment was for 9:00 a.m., but the doctor did not show up until after 10:30 a.m.. I was informed by the front desk, that even though appointments are made at 9:00 a.m., this doctor does not arrive before 10:30 am I found this to be very unprofessional and discourteous. Additionally, when I had the exam, he did not spend much time, almost seeming rushed. He also did not explain much of what he was doing. As a result of this, I have discontinued coming to them and I found a new doctor, who provided the type of excellent service that I would have expected from Freehold Opthalmology.
