Wall behind door in exam room

If it was possible to give less then 1 star I certainly would. I had an appointment at the center in Toms River on Friday, April 1. To say this place is totally unprofessional beside being a health hazard in a understatement. Besides having me wait an hour past my appointment time, their AC was obviously broken as it was extremely hot in their office to the point even the staff was complaining. OK, not controllable and can be overlooked if not for the condition of the exam room I was then taken too (see pictures of the condition of the exam room). I gave the girl who did the pre-exam before the doctor my eyeglasses to look at and was told by her they could not find a prescription in them. Now I am a -4.50 in both eyes, so I'm pretty blind and these glasses are bi-focal also, but they could not find a prescription? Then I was told that since it was my first visit with them (only because my insurance recently changed) that I would be charged a $135 contact lens "fitting fee" for contacts I have been wearing since I was in 5th grade. I am now 52 so you do the math. I finally had enough and told them to give me back my $10 co-pay and I would go someplace else. Upon leaving the front desk person told me I can call their administrator Rebecca in the Freehold office and complain. I tried to contact Rebecca on 4/4/2022 and was told she was out of the office and could leave her a voicemail but when I was transferred to her I received a recording that her mailbox was full and could not take new messages. To say this place is in DESPERATE need of repair besides I'm sure being in violation of health and safety codes for the walls the floor and open food in the exam room is a given. They should be shut down until repairs are made and staff trained. DO NOT RECOMMEND!

I had been looking into LASIK for years, but since having to wear hearing aids this year I really…read morewanted to move forward as my classes kept bumping into the microphone on them, I no longer felt confident with my glasses, and most of all they kept giving me migraines because no pair I ever picked fit right. I went online and started researching places by me. That's when I found here and read about Dr. VonRomer and his PRK treatment. A way less invasive and way less down time treatment. The office staff is the sweetest, the facility is outright gorgeous both the regular facility and the PRK suites. I went in for a free consult, was told I was a candidate, went in for a pre-op appointment with testing and was told I was good to go. Came in on a Friday, it took less than 20 minutes (honestly them prepping my eyes and reading the paperwork took longer!) and I went home same day. Came back on Tuesday and I was about 90-95% healed. His bedside manner is such a delight and he makes you feel completely at ease. I highly recommend him and the company!

I recently visited Invision Eye Care for what I believed would be a simple eyeglass exam, only to…read morewalk away feeling confused, frustrated, and completely disrespected by both the front-desk staff and the office manager. What happened: After eight months of recovering from retinal detachment surgery, my prescription had changed twice. I finally secured new insurance that would cover my eye exams--but it doesn't kick in until May 1st. I scheduled an appointment specifically for an eyeglass exam only and made it clear at check-in that I could not afford the (separate) contact lens exam until after May 1st. Unbeknownst to me, the doctor proceeded to perform both the eyeglass and contact-lens exams. I thought she was merely "tweaking" my existing contact prescription, so I didn't question it. The next day, I received a call from Susan ( who said she was the office manager ) at Invision telling me I owed $85 for the contact exam I had explicitly asked not to have. When I explained that I had not authorized or even realized a second exam was done, she brusquely replied, "Why didn't you stop the doctor?" and insisted I return the trial contacts. I then spoke with Niessa, the office manager, hoping for some understanding or compromise. Instead, she was condescending and rude--telling me it was entirely my fault for allowing the exam and that I must pay both charges. Why this matters: Lack of clear communication. I explicitly declined the contact-lens exam, yet no one bothered to confirm with me when the doctor performed it. Unprofessional customer service. Both Susan and Niessa refused to listen or offer any courtesy goodwill. Rather than resolving a genuine misunderstanding, they treated me like I was the problem. Lost trust (and a patient). Over an $85 fee, Invision Eye Care has now lost my future business--along with the cataract appointment I had already scheduled at that office. Bottom line: I understand policies exist, but a little empathy and clear communication go a long way. I left feeling like I wasn't respected as a patient or even a customer. Until Invision trains their staff to listen first and assume good faith, I cannot, in good conscience, recommend them.

Except for needing glasses, I have never had any eye problems. Since cataract surgery is an operation that you have done only once (there are exceptions, but the risk of complications increases dramatically) I did more than a bit of research and saw 6, count em, six, ophthalmologists before deciding on Dr. Almallah to do the surgery. He was the most expensive, but was also the most competent guy in my opinion. I wanted someone who not only did a lot of surgeries, but also had a lot of surgeries with the specific brand of lens that I was getting. I'm a pretty frugal guy, but to save a few hundred bucks for anything but the best didn't seem very wise. I couldn't be happier with my decision. I got a Trulign lens, which is the astigmatism correcting version of Bausch & Lomb's Crystalens. Now this may not be the right one for someone else, but in doing my research I tried to find as much information as I could on what other people's choices and real life experiences were. My vision is better than 20/20 in that eye, and can see well at intermediate distances. I do need +2 drug store "cheaters" for reading. This was exactly what Dr. Almallah told me would be the case. I subsequently saw Dr. D'Alterio, a optometrist in the same practice, who fitted me for a contact lens for my right eye so the vision in both eyes would line up, so to speak. He also did a very good job. Wearing the contact is a little bit of a hassle, but I didn't want to spend the $ to have the surgery in the second eye, and more importantly, it didn't make sense to me to have an operation on an eye that didn't need it.
