I suddenly developed a cataract in my left eye over a period of 3-4 months. Needless to say, I was…read morefreaked out. I thought that if I ever developed cataracts, it would be later in life. Except for needing glasses, I have never had any eye problems. Since cataract surgery is an operation that you have done only once (there are exceptions, but the risk of complications increases dramatically) I did more than a bit of research and saw 6, count em, six, ophthalmologists before deciding on Dr. Almallah to do the surgery. He was the most expensive, but was also the most competent guy in my opinion. I wanted someone who not only did a lot of surgeries, but also had a lot of surgeries with the specific brand of lens that I was getting. I'm a pretty frugal guy, but to save a few hundred bucks for anything but the best didn't seem very wise. I couldn't be happier with my decision. I got a Trulign lens, which is the astigmatism correcting version of Bausch & Lomb's Crystalens. Now this may not be the right one for someone else, but in doing my research I tried to find as much information as I could on what other people's choices and real life experiences were. My vision is better than 20/20 in that eye, and can see well at intermediate distances. I do need +2 drug store "cheaters" for reading. This was exactly what Dr. Almallah told me would be the case. I subsequently saw Dr. D'Alterio, a optometrist in the same practice, who fitted me for a contact lens for my right eye so the vision in both eyes would line up, so to speak. He also did a very good job. Wearing the contact is a little bit of a hassle, but I didn't want to spend the $ to have the surgery in the second eye, and more importantly, it didn't make sense to me to have an operation on an eye that didn't need it.

I initially met with Dr. Pardon, when I had arrived for treatment it was actually performed by Dr…read more Patel. My follow up visit for treatment was cancelled minutes before I had arrived. I was informed I could schedule for several weeks out and that the new doctor was on vacation. My treatments have to be on a tight schedule and I had reached out to dr. Patel. She never returned emails or phone calls so all communications were done through Denise Waldron the office manager. The communication from Dr. Patel's office was very rough and unprofessional. Eventually she emailed that Dr. Patel thought I should see a different kind of Doctor. Yet she had given me treatment previously. I had been scheduled for the follow up and they already had authorization from my insurance. In distress I asked if she could repeat the treatment she had done previously. Instead they arranged an appointment with a different doctor at a whole different organization. He reviewed the notes said he would provide the same treatment despite being the kind of doctor they recommended he could not understand that Dr. Patel could not perform the same as my first visit. Between getting a new authorization and his office schedule said it would be weeks to getting treatment. I actually had to fly out to California immediately to see my previous doctor who saw me in less than a couple days. Because she understood the distress level and complications the condition could create. - Mike S

If I could give a zero I would. the worst Eye Diagnostic Center. It is highly unethical. Dr…read moreLawerence Turtle is not only unprofessional but it is only a business for him. I don't think he really cares about the employees or the patients he sees. I've seen other comments by others and said that he pushed for surgery. Unbelievable how is he even a doctor he should just end his practice. I wouldn't be surprised if he was sued or have been in court. STAY AWAY!!! from Eye Diagnostic center they have a few offices. They only want your money and don't care for the well being. ITs a business for them not a medical practice
