They then asked if I wanted to submit the charge to Medicare, I agreed. Medicare did not cover this service, which Im sure they knew Medicare wouldn't, then they sent me a bill for $160. When I asked why they said because Medicare did not pay, I explained that I was quoted $114 and paid that amount. They then said that if they didn't submit the charge to Medicare I would only have had to pay the quoted price, but because they submitted it and Medicare refused, I was now responsible for an additional $160. It makes absolutely no sense, I refused to pay but they keep sending me a bill every month.

They had me do a whole bunch of stuff and frankly I don't know what was supposedly the refraction. The ophthalmologist did many of the same things. I got the impression that money was the big priority in this office.

I had been looking into LASIK for years, but since having to wear hearing aids this year I really…read morewanted to move forward as my classes kept bumping into the microphone on them, I no longer felt confident with my glasses, and most of all they kept giving me migraines because no pair I ever picked fit right. I went online and started researching places by me. That's when I found here and read about Dr. VonRomer and his PRK treatment. A way less invasive and way less down time treatment. The office staff is the sweetest, the facility is outright gorgeous both the regular facility and the PRK suites. I went in for a free consult, was told I was a candidate, went in for a pre-op appointment with testing and was told I was good to go. Came in on a Friday, it took less than 20 minutes (honestly them prepping my eyes and reading the paperwork took longer!) and I went home same day. Came back on Tuesday and I was about 90-95% healed. His bedside manner is such a delight and he makes you feel completely at ease. I highly recommend him and the company!

What happened: After eight months of recovering from retinal detachment surgery, my prescription had changed twice. I finally secured new insurance that would cover my eye exams--but it doesn't kick in until May 1st. I scheduled an appointment specifically for an eyeglass exam only and made it clear at check-in that I could not afford the (separate) contact lens exam until after May 1st. Unbeknownst to me, the doctor proceeded to perform both the eyeglass and contact-lens exams. I thought she was merely "tweaking" my existing contact prescription, so I didn't question it. The next day, I received a call from Susan ( who said she was the office manager ) at Invision telling me I owed $85 for the contact exam I had explicitly asked not to have. When I explained that I had not authorized or even realized a second exam was done, she brusquely replied, "Why didn't you stop the doctor?" and insisted I return the trial contacts. I then spoke with Niessa, the office manager, hoping for some understanding or compromise. Instead, she was condescending and rude--telling me it was entirely my fault for allowing the exam and that I must pay both charges. Why this matters: Lack of clear communication. I explicitly declined the contact-lens exam, yet no one bothered to confirm with me when the doctor performed it. Unprofessional customer service. Both Susan and Niessa refused to listen or offer any courtesy goodwill. Rather than resolving a genuine misunderstanding, they treated me like I was the problem. Lost trust (and a patient). Over an $85 fee, Invision Eye Care has now lost my future business--along with the cataract appointment I had already scheduled at that office. Bottom line: I understand policies exist, but a little empathy and clear communication go a long way. I left feeling like I wasn't respected as a patient or even a customer. Until Invision trains their staff to listen first and assume good faith, I cannot, in good conscience, recommend them.

Please allow me to begin by saying that I am not a complainer…read more After seven years of going to the brick location, my insurance changed for the worse. However loyalty and trust, I decided to remain a patient of the doctors I had come to know. After paying out of pocket for an initial eye exam and lens fitting, the optician refused to release my p.d. measurement because I was not purchasing lenses or glasses through their gallery due to financial constraints. The techs and doctor also refused. This prevented me from ordering glasses at all, rendering the exam a waste of money. As for the contact lens fitting, the left eye axis was not perfect and that eye wouldn't focus at all. Dr Felicia insisted that this was okay since I was seeing 20/20 with both eyes. After some time I developed headaches when wearing the contacts (I have never in 20 years of wearing contacts experienced this.). Because I found cheaper lenses elsewhere I returned to request an adjustment so that I could return the lenses that I couldn't use for correct ones. They refused to adjust the prescription without charging me a second time because 30 days had passed since my first fitting. I did not get the impression that the doctor was at all concerned with my health, because after being left in the exam room for twenty minutes, they eventually sent the receptionist into the exam room to try and sell me on the idea of second charge. I walked out. I should not be punished for not buying overpriced product from their extremely limited gallery. During these visits I was privy to complaining conversations between the reception desk and the optical gallery which was within earshot from the waiting room. On two occasions In the exam room, the techs vented extensively to me about how displeased they were with the working conditions. At a total loss of understanding for these terrible experiences, I attempted to reach an office administrator to discuss my experience. I was denied this point of contact when calling to inquire. Again, I am not a complainer, but I thought that someone out there should hear about this experience before making up their own minds. FYI vision works accepted me as a walk in, and in 40 minutes I was walking out with everything I needed at a fraction of Susskind and Amallah's price point. They also released my p.d. measurement without question and advised me to consult a lawyer regarding my experiences at s&a. While I would like a response from an administrator, if the measure of this practice's sense of customer service is defined by the staff at the brick location, I expect it to be s very short conversation.
