i went to their stall in the boston public market. i tried their mini apple cider donuts, which were $1.50 each. for the price + flavor, i wouldn't say it was the best apple cider donut i've had. i probs won't return here again, but if you want a really quick bite, you can try it out. the staff were very nice though! read more

We stopped at this little stall in the public market twice when we were in town, once for apple cider donuts and once for a cider drink. Both were delicious and enjoyable, especially our cider that had some nice spices in it. Always happy to try local products when visiting a new city. read more

What is equally important to a delicious apple cider donut? Customer service!! The workers here are always SO SO kind. The donuts are made fresh right in front of your face! If you want a brand new batch, the workers will wait for the next batch to give you - just ask nicely :) The donuts are the perfect, warm snack. Each bite is filled with sugar and flavor, especially perfect for the cold winter Boston days. read more

Wasn't able to take a picture of them because as soon as they reached my hands we gobbled them down. I had to go back to buy another dozen so we can take back to the house. The marketplace was pretty empty inside for it being a Saturday. This shop is located right at the entrance so you can't miss it. read more

If you're looking for some warm and fresh apple cider donuts in the Boston area, this is a great place to go! They bring all the benefits of going to a farm to downtown Boston. My mouth is watering thinking of the apple cider donuts here. When we visited, they only had packaged day-old versions of the large sizes, but plenty of small sizes were available. Two of the small ones made for a nice post-lunch snack. Now I'm a sucker for anything resembling fall spices, so it wasn't surprising that I fell in love. If you want details, it's a take take on a sugar donut - not too sweet, with apple and cinnamon flavors added in. Definitely worth checking out. FYI, the apple cider donuts were better than anything I had at Quincy Market. read more

WE LOVED THESE DONUTS!! The Apple cider donuts were fresh out of the fryer, warm, and delicious. We got 2 to try, then went back to get 6 more! The fresh apple cider was incredible too! The Apple caramel bread was good, but didn't compare to the donuts and cider. LOVED this place. I'll probably dream about it for years to come. read more

Hands-down THE best donuts I've ever had in.my.life. I was so full after eating lunch at the Boston Public Market that I only ordered 1 apple cider donut. I left the market for Quincy Market, and decided to immediately walk back and order a dozen of them!! The stand is small, but fresh donuts are made right in front of you. Being from Texas, I've never heard or seen apple cider donuts until now. I thought they were going to feel like cake donuts, but that's far from the case. These bad boys are more like circular muffins but much lighter! The outside has a delicate crispiness, followed by a pillow soft interior that feels like the most moist muffin you could have. The best part is how light they feel on the stomach. I thought they would be oily or sugary, but that's not the case. These can be eaten with your coffee for breakfast, afternoon tea time snack, or a post dinner dessert. The apple flavor is solid and never fades. They make good apple juice too! read more

This place has the best cold apple cider ever! It's so flavorful and the lady at the register said that they don't add any sugar to it either. It's just straight up apple juice! I bought the large Puritan cold apple cider for $3. The drink was fine and the service was friendly, but the apple cider was just okay in my opinion. I also tried a sample of their ginger crisp cider. It wasn't really for me. It was pretty dry (which I know some people like, but it just wasn't for me). read more

We came across their stand in the Boston Public Market and my friend, a local Bostonian, raved about their apple-cider donuts so I had to try some! After watching them make their donuts on the spot, I brought a half dozen of their mini ones, and my friend got their cold Apple Cider. Mhmm we got to eat the mini donuts while they were warm and fresh, and I LOVED them! The mini ones are the perfect size to munch on without feeling guilty, and I found myself devouring these. They were fluffy on the inside with the right amount of sweetness on the outside. I've never had apple donuts before and thought these homemade ones were incredible! The Apple Cider, on the other hand, tasted simply like Apple Juice to me. It was fresh and not overly sugary though so I have no complaints. I'm so glad they have a stand in the Market so that everyone can enjoy their goods without venturing out to their Farm. The Boston Public Market is conveniently located near the Haymarket T stop and North End, and, as a tourist, I would recommend this place to others! What a fantastic place for food, friends, and fun! I did a bike ride today and it started/ended at RAF. After the ride I had some BBQ and a beer or two. The service was exceptional, the food was delicious (pulled pork, sweet potato fries, and kale coleslaw - yum!!) and the beer hit the spot. The staff at RAF is totally focused on creating a memorable experience for the customer. THEN I hit the store to grab some treats to take home - an apple pie, doughnuts, cider, and some apples. I'm a sucker for doughnuts. Especially when they're made fresh. The smell that wafted from this place was intoxicating. Fried dough doused in cinnamon sugar, you can't really go wrong. I was a bit let down by the texture of the mini doughnuts. They were warm, but not moist or addicting. My doughnuts were slightly stale tasting and kind of oily. They also didn't keep well. I saved a few for the car ride back to NY and they went rock hard after an hour. Maybe they're better when made fresh and straight into the sugar. They were ok, but not the best I've had. read more

The apple cider donuts were pretty good - fluffy, flavorful, and warm. I liked the coating of crunchy sugar on the outside. I'm not the biggest fan of donuts but these were just the right size and weren't that oily. However...the kettle corn....Ok, ok, I know Red Apple Farm specializes in apple cider donuts, but I expected the same level of quality across all their food, regardless of what I ordered. I saw the popcorn cart/machine and I thought they would give me fresh popped popcorn, because that's what they advertised. Instead, after I paid, I got a pre-filled paper bag of kettle corn that was sitting on the shelf. I knew it was going to be stale, and it sure was. I'm just disappointed by Red Apple Farm, since I saw other reviews talking about the amazing, fresh kettle corn. read more

Wow, these donuts are actually so tasty, and leave you wanting to eat and buy more. Red Apple Farm is located inside the Boston Public Market, which contains mostly a lot of food vendors. I shared half a dozen with my sister - the donuts were fluffy, sweet, warm, and definitely had a distinct apple taste. The cinnamon sugar isn't too sweet, but I could see it being too sweet for some people. It's also probably best to eat these when they're fresh rather than when they get cold! I was a bit disappointed they didn't have any apple butter to try (even though their sign says you can try anything there). I'll definitely be back if I'm in the area to order their donuts, and hopefully try their apple butter if they have samples! read more

I Started here with 1/2 dozen donuts, then make our way to the $ 1 shucks. After we had our dozen oysters, we ate our sugar cinnamon mini donuts for desserts, they were so addictive I had to come back to get a dozen. I also bought jam which were really good. Oh yeah! & the apple cider pound cake ! overall I really enjoyed this BPM, I def will be back for some more donuts! :) One star taken away For the rude girl at the register between 3:30-5 on my visit today , was not at all friendly nor her face was inviting . She seemed bit annoyed that she had to ring us up. This can ruins any shopping experience big or small. Most of the time I am overly nice to rude people . While wandering through the market, I saw a big sign that said apple cider donuts. I adore apple cider donuts so this was a must. While walking to the donut area I passed a super friendly employee who had samples of their cranberries. I love cranberries so I couldn't pass that chance up. A bite of a few of these yummy little guys and I knew I needed a bag. After grabbing one donut (I wanted more but was already stuffed) I went and snagged a bag of cranberries. Check out was quick and easy and the cashier was quite excited that the free sample paid off with a purchase. The donut was great but the cranberries were the winners. I tried not to indulge in them until I arrived home but I snuck a few handfuls before then. Do yourself a favor and grab a bag of cranberries for later and a donut or two for immediate gratification. read more

This is one of my favorite stands in Boston Public Market for two reasons: 1) Apple Cider Donuts 2) Fudge You can watch their donuts fry behind a clear plastic barrier. They float through the hot oil, then get dumped into a pile of sugar. Every time I've bought some, they've been warm and soft, never cold or dry. Sweet on the outside, and ultra-fluffy on the inside with heavy notes of apple cider and sugar. They're mini-donuts, and much lighter than the typical full-scale donut. If you bring some home to eat later, be sure to warm them up in the microwave. Eating them cold would be a tragedy. While their fudge obviously isn't as good as a high-end chocolatier, it's still very good for a stand in the middle of a market. If you stand in front of the display case for more than a few seconds, they'll offer you free samples. Not just offer, but *insist*... as if, if you don't take this free sample, their entire business is derailed. They sell a beverage-focused apple cider vinegar that you're supposed to drink a sip of each day, along with some other apple-based products. Ciders, butters, jams, and a few other smaller farm products. The staff is always friendly and willing to give you samples of fudge. There's no reason to ignore this place on your way through the Boston Public Market. read more

You know you've done something right when this diner here, who pretty much never enjoys or seeks out a donut, craves your cinnamonny, light, airy, yet just perfectly sugary donuts. The apple cider donuts here are delicious but definitely opt for the ones that are fresh. D-NUTS. Woke up on a cool, autumn Saturday and craved apple cider doughnuts, naturally. My first priority was to head to Red Apple Farm and was pleasantly surprised. The donuts are tiny and cute. They are perfectly bite sized so that you don't feel completely guilty about eating fried dough smothered in cinnamon and sugar. But even better, they weren't terribly sweet. These doughnuts were fresh, warm, and fried right in front of my eyes. As a self-proclamed doughnut-afficiando, I highly recommend giving them a try. I also gave the Fire Cider a fair assessment. It felt a bit like a detox drink since its base was apple cider vinegar. It also had hints of ginger, turmeric, and jalapeño. I didn't love it, I didn't hate it. To me, it was a 4/10 and I probably wouldn't try it again. Boston Public Market is a sweet little spot with all sorts of vendors, and so I definitely suggest checking it out and grabbing a half dozen apple cider mini-doughnuts while you're at it! read more

Having apple cider donuts year round is great and I finally got the chance to try Red Apple Farm. I mean, you can't really go wrong with apple cider donuts really. But I just had higher expectations for this place. I've been to Honey Pot Hills and they give you a half dozen for $5, which is relatively the same price as Red Apple Farm, however, the donuts are "mini." Also, these minis don't hold together pretty well. I did get them fresh, which was wonderful, but they're really delicate and broke apart when I tried getting a bite. Taste wise, it was delicious, not the same as Honey Pot Hills, but in my opinion, Red Apple Farm puts the apple cider in their apple cider donuts. Overall, the donuts here are great tasting and a great fix if you don't want to travel miles away for donuts made on a farm. But pricing wise and texture, is just meh. read more

I have to agree with Ruthanne's review because I had a similar experience and feeling. I too was disappointed to receive the batch of 18 apple cider mini donuts after being told they were just taken out. The donuts were not warm, the texture off and very dense, and it didn't really have a strong flavor. On top of that, despite being there before a group of women and talking with the guy who ended up bagging all the donuts together, I was not helped first. These same group of women also took forever at the cashier, who 1.) did not notice me in line and wanted to help another customer and 2.) did not know whether they were running the Wednesday special. By the next morning, the donuts were rock hard. I don't think that indicates freshness. Not happy and incredibly disappointed by the product and customer experience. read more

Red Apple Farm is a 4th generation farm established in 1912. Although once a predominantly apple wholesale operation it is now a diversified direct-marketing farm operation. The farm grows over 50 varieties of apples, peaches, pears, blueberries, raspberries, pumpkins, and potatoes. The farm produces and makes a wide assortment of products year-round that include cider donuts, fudge, apple crisp, fresh cider, etc. The farm operates and manages four retail locations. The farm-store in Phillipston, MA and our retail outlet at the Boston Public Market are open year-round, while the two retail locations at Wachusett Mountain Ski Area are open during the winter season. Visit quickly because I believe it ends on March 9th. Having received literally one of the last donuts of the weekend I could not have been more thrilled. I didn't even get a complete donut - they had run out of the Bavarian cream filling. But the donut was light, yeasty, and delicious. The chocolate frosting was so rich! I cannot wait to get there even earlier next weekend! Also, as someone that gets starstruck a little too easily it was really awesome to see Stephanie in person slinging her donuts. This place is cash only, and the service is really straight-to-the-point. I guess they just want people in and out quickly. There's not really anywhere you can sit, so definitely just get what you want and go. The bakery itself is kept very simple and minimal. Sweets are displayed behind the glass, and there are plenty of signs along the wall that display what they have to offer. There were a lot of different goodies, but I noticed that people really only ordered the cannolis. I got a singular chocolate chip cannoli, and I think it really threw the person helping me off that I only got one to try. Pastries are packaged in a nice blue box and securely tied with a long string. The cannoli itself tasted pretty nice, but I wish there were more chocolate chips other than the ones that coated the areas of visible filling. I liked that the shell was crunchy and flaky. I can't say much because this was my first time having a cannoli, so I have no point of comparison. Not sure if I can eat a lot of it in one sitting.

The location is adorable with a variety of pastry options, notably, the moon cookie! The service was great and attentive, and if you get the chance I would recommend sitting and enjoying a nice coffee or tea versus waiting in the line. In comparison to Boa's, it was very close for our party, but the fresh shell put it on top. I will state that Boba's cream filling was more of my style with the less of the sweet kick. Either way you can't go wrong either location, but the additional pastries offered at modern along with the sitdown option was also another touch. Don't be timid by the line it moves rapid and it's well worth it!
