We hired Jensen to landscape around our pool/spa that was recently finished. We had some idea of what we wanted and Jensen was helpful with suggestions as to how to complete our vision. Well, our backyard now looks like a tropical paradise and we're thrilled with the way it turned out. His workers were polite, communicative, and hard working. The lead guy, Tungie, was especially great to work with and Jason, the new hire, we liked as well. The job was finished fairly quickly despite a few delays for weather. We found the cost to be quite reasonable and we're really happy that we went with Red Agave. If our project is an example of what to expect you won't be disappointed by hiring Jensen and his highly competent crew. read more

Red Agave did 2 awesome projects for us! Tungie, Samwell, Clayton, Jason, and Bo were prompt and professional. They created 2 new walkways for us that let us get around our yard more easily. They also created a walkway around a flower bed that really sets off the bed and allows us to access it comfortably. I'm so pleased that we hired Alex and his team to do this work and we hope to have them come back for future projects! read more

Friendly, knowledgeable, competitive prices. We consulted with Red Agave for an artificial turf installation and some landscaping. We didn't end up working with them, but wanted to leave a positive review for the meeting and consulting process. Thanks! read more

Red agave landscaping did a patio for me with rock and and stone and also added a drain to help correct my water problem. I am very happy with my patio and the work they did and it will make outside life much more enjoyable read more

It's been great to work with AAL & Jensen. He is a class act and does a great job for a great price. I currently have him come mow every 2-3 weeks. In addition, he has removed a rotting tree in my front yard and will be planting a new Crepe Myrtle in October. Highly Recommend. read more

My lawn needs significant rehabilitation, and after seeing all the positive reviews for Red Agave, I went submitted a request through their web site around the first of October. Received a response from Jensen the next day, requesting my home address, which I provided along with my home phone#. Then nothing. After several days, I called and spoke to Jensen. He seemed confused about my call, and I repeated what I had already submitted, with detailed instructions on how to locate my house. He said he would try to come by that weekend: however, he was a no-show. Our rainy spell then ensued. Finally, by late October, with still no follow-up, I reached their voice-message service and expressed my frustration with the whole process. Again, no reaction/ response. Appears Red Agave does great work once they're on the job, but getting them there seems to be a big problem. read more

Red Agave Lawn + Landscape is a five-star organization from top to bottom. My husband and I needed landscape assistance to spruce up the landscape at our new home and to address significant drainage issues on our lot. We reached out to Red Agave along with a couple of other area landscape professionals for recommendations and estimates. Red Agave stood out from the rest right away. Henning arrived at our scheduled appointment time and walked the lot with us and talked through our needs, expectations and his recommended approach to our challenges. He followed up with a detailed plan diagram and written cost proposal for the project that included weathered steel planter boxes, steel lined dry river beds and gutter drain extensions to move rain water off of our lot efficiently. Henning took a personal interest in our goals and the project from the outset promptly addressing all of our questions related to the project. Once we engaged Red Agave, as the best value provider for our landscape needs, Zach was assigned as our project supervisor. Zach oversaw all aspects of our project leading his team (Dixon, Daniel, David and others) and ensured every detail was addressed. Any time my husband or I had specific requests related to the project, Zach always ensured that they were addressed promptly. Everyone on the Red Agave team is friendly, professional and willing to go the extra mile to ensure customer satisfaction. Henning continued to follow up throughout the project in coordination with Zach to ensure that the project was meeting our expectations. In the current booming economy, I have worked with many trades people related to projects associated with our new home. Sadly, due to the amount of business currently available to trades people, many have dropped any pretense of customer service. Not Red Agave. It is clear that the company always puts the customer first. Jensen, the owner, is to be commended for building such a top flight organization that values its customers. Our finished project is a work of art. Not only do we have beautifully sculpted dry river beds running through our yard to address our drainage issues, but we have beautiful steelwork landscape beds in our front yard improving the overall look of our home. If you are considering a major landscape project for your home, I cannot express strongly enough that you should reach out to Red Agave for your needs. You will not be disappointed! We have decided to do our own plantings so we can take our time, but I will post pictures once it is complete. read more

My husband and I had Red Agave come out to our house twice to assist in generic lawn maintenance. While we were pleased with the work they did when they did come out, we had problems with timeliness both times. The first time we requested some weed control and mowing. They laid weed killer in half of our yard and did not touch the backyard and needed to come back the next day. The next time we had a scheduled time for them to come out and we didn't hear from Jensen until 5pm that they were not able to make it and would be coming the next day. While I understand there are sometimes delays, it seems like this is an ongoing problem with Red Agave, we will be looking for another company for our future lawn needs. read more

These folks responded quickly with a quote, and answered all my questions over Yelp. When they came out, they helped me refine the idea for my new firepit area and then they built it! Even though the price went up from what was originally quoted, because the work needed ended up being more than expected, it was still great to work with them and there was good and clear communication the entire time about the additional cost. read more

Excellent, friendly and easy to communicate with professionals. Would highly recommend Jensen! I've been a customer for the past year and I'm very happy with their lawn services. They even managed to help me out on a short notice. read more

Zac provided us with great service at reasonable price. We had our front landscaping done involving rocks, steel edging, zoysia grass, tree trimming, and coastal muhly grass. They did a wonderful job especially with the steel edging. Photos to follow when it's completely finished. read more

Red Agave has done 2 jobs for us: installing a fence and a back porch. In both jobs they have done a great job communicating what needs to be done and anything else that came up along the way. For the back porch the carpenter, Beau, suggested a wider step up to the porch to accommodate our toddler and it was a great idea. We've been very happy both times and will definitely consider them for the next project. read more

I honestly can't recommend these guys enough. I'm a first time homeowner with no previous lawn maintenance experience and my front lawn was out of hand. I had wild weeds and overgrown plants everywhere. I also wanted some landscaping done on the backyard but didn't really know what to ask for. Jensen and his crew cleaned up the front and brought my house back to life! He gave me great ideas on what to do with the backyard and didn't oversell me. He's super knowledgeable and patient with rookies (like me). It was such a relief to know that I was being treated fairly and honestly. You definitely have a repeat customer here. Thanks so much, guys! read more

We requested a quote online and within days Alex came out to look at our property. We had some ideas of what we wanted but he had ideas we hadn't even considered. He was very responsive and easy to communicate with. The crew was friendly and hard working and would work into the evening to get things done. We can't wait to work with them again! read more

I was initially very excited to work with Red Agave from the reviews I read but was overwhelming let down in Jensen. The only reason that I am not rating them lower is because Alex was a joy to work with and the landscaping/building portion of the project was successful. Alex was communicative and on top of it. Jensen however was the opposite. My husband and I were looking for low maintenance plants and shrubs. We were under the impression that Jensen (who is apparently the plant guy) would be in touch with us about what we wanted and our vision for the yard. There was no communication whatsoever. Not only did we have to contact him multiple times about getting the plants in before the heat of summer, once we finally got in touch with him there was no discussion of what we wanted because he had already purchased plants. He showed up one day, again without communicating with us and planted eveything. We contacted him because deer were destroying the ferns he put in the front and he came out again but did not resolve the issue. He told us that we weren't watering enough. After advising him on more than one occasion that the plants were being destroyed he decided to add more plants instead of taking out the plants that were being eaten. I contacted him one last time expressing the issue and that I would like it resolved and his response was "I was going to pull up the ferns but they looked good but I still put in 8 plants for free." So I ended up with 8 more plants I don't like and didn't choose. The ferns have been eaten down to the stubs at this point. I went into this project with high hopes but was severely disappointed. I am now 5 months pregnant with twins and don't feel that I should have to tear out the mismatched and destroyed plants in my yard. After reading other reviews I just don't understand what happened and now I have to settle with the terrible job that Jensen did. read more

I never write reviews but had to write about this lawn company. These guys were over the top professional, friendly, clean and priced was super competitive. Biggest thing for me was being on time. They said the time they would be there and it held true. The service they provided was impeccable!!!Davey is true pro at what he does and I can't wait to do business again with these guys read more

Austin Agave Landscaping has been a HUGE inspiration for me in my gardening. Jensen Mehrens, the owner, has provided me with exceptional lawn care and service for several years now. Beyond regular lawn care, Jensen is a fountain of information about native plants, gardening timing, resources, planting strategies, as well as natural supplements and amendments to soil. I grow wonderful, healthy food right in my backyard. I cannot recommend him highly enough - he is a true consultant and I always learn something new from him! read more

Jensen provided a very fair quote and Davie and Daniel did a beautiful job onsite. They were thorough removing the weeds and half dead plants that made up 80% of my flower beds while at the same time careful to preserve the 20% of flowers that were still alive. Thanks so much for taking the time to listen and work around the chaos of my front yard. I will be calling back soon! Krissa read more

We hired Red Agave to help us out with our front beds per our HOA requirements. The owner Jensen is friendly, responsive, and extremely skilled at what he does. He and his crew are top-notch, can't go wrong! read more

Both time and budget efficient, Austin Agave Landscaping does beautiful, well conceived design while taking into account my own vision. It's nice knowing that there are minimal chemicals and noise polluting machines being used. I recommend to anyone interested in Texas native, low water, modern design. read more

Davey and his crew are top notch. I felt like I was talking with someone who cared about our property as much as we did. He was able to clean out some under growth that had gotten beyond me and refresh our landscaping back to 'show' quality. He also pointed out some things that I need to keep an eye on and even gave me some awesome watering tips for my wife's favorite plants. I never once felt like Red Agave was trying to sell me or over charge me they simply came in and solved problems. These guys are highly recommended! read more

My backyard was covered in weeds and i wanted it xeriscaped so i don't have to do much maintenance on it. Jensen did a nice job of covering a part of it with gravel and another part with rock and installing metal walls in between. The design was nice, the price was good, it took him less than a week for the whole project and he was always available to help with any questions i had. My only problem is with weeds growing back 6 months later. I'm not sure if this is expected but weeds have been popping up in the gravel this spring as if it's regular soil. Some of them grow through the landscape cloth (even though he put 2 layers of it). It looks much better than before but the amount of maintenance needed to keep it "clean" is still pretty significant. read more

Austin Agave went above and beyond. We needed a big cleanup and lots of mulch, and in a short time. Jensen and his crew were fast, clean, quiet and just all around friendly. They also mowed our little patch of lawn, which wasn't in the bid. Nice extra touch. Great service. Referring them to everyone I know! read more

Before we found Red Agave, we had a big ol' patch of dirt sitting in front of our house where a porch used to be. We knew we wanted a modern, deserty, Palm Springs look to fill the space, but had no idea how to execute it and choose the right design for our house. Jensen took the time to understand our vision and come up with a beautiful plan within our budget. He's creative and professional. I would recommend him to anyone! I'll post pictures soon. :) read more

I don't normally post reviews, but when quality vision, execution, and awesome attitude/character are all superb I just have to document it. Jensen and Alex have been so great to work with. Our front yard has been transformed thanks to these guys. Our terrain was a bit challenging to work with but it didn't stop these guys from delivering. And I just thought their attitudes were excellent too. I never felt insecure asking for a tweak here or there on things. All of their great ratings are so well deserved. I highly recommend you contact these guys for your landscape project, whatever it may be!! read more

I prefer to have work done on weekends when I'm home. Red Agave were super accommodating to come out this morning (Sunday) to aerate my lawn. Right on time, good job, fair price. Knowledgeable, straight shooter. Recommend Jensen highly. read more

Jensen was prompt to respond to my quote request and managed the planning process well. His work is high quality and he used really nice steel for the terracing of our xeriscaping. The work that he and his team did to prep the steel walls and terraces was excellent, and he used much thicker steel than i anticipated. Because he is a small shop with minimal overhead, he was able to provide a high quality product well below the quoted price of other vendors I spoke with. He balances multiple jobs pretty well but since he's the lead on each project, sometimes the work on your yard is stalled for a couple days while he's on other projects. Overall, I definitely recommend Jensen and Red Agave. read more

Jensen and Tim worked hard and did a great job leveling and smoothing my backyard. They considered the larger job and gave me some great advice and ideas for next steps. I wouldn't hesitate recommending them. read more

Same day service ! Nice guys, very polite and fast . David did a great job on my yard, and was here ahead of the quoted time. Very fair price as well . I will definitely call next time my yard needs a cut and highly recommend them. He was even careful not to cut anything that looked like it was planted, ended up being an odd weed that I asked him to take out and he politely did. He tried to take out that pesky mequite bush overgrown from the house behind me as well which I greatly appreciated and He even got the property line of the fence that barely goes on the neighbors side . He paid attention to the small details without needing to be asked..clean, professional job. Thanks guys! read more

I love working with Red Agave. I get a lot of good information from Jensen when trying to decide what new landscaping to put in. We have emailed pictures and information about plants several times. The actual work they do is great and for a very fair price. I also like that they understand my desire to put in plants and use materials that are safe for pets and our children and are very well informed. read more

Davey and his partner were great! They arrived on time and despite the soggy conditions from the early morning rain, cleaned up several cubic yards worth of leaves and grass. Their mowers/blowers are powerful, making their visit brief but thorough. I was very happy with the fair price and schedule. They fit me into their schedule in a few days, rather than weeks quoted by their competitors. When the work was complete, Davey did a walk-through with me to make sure I was happy with the results. This is my second experience with Red Agave, and I will definitely hire them again. read more
