There was some up and down, but nothing too difficult. Both trails were mostly clearly marked. Near the end of Loop B the markings became less frequent, and at the junction of the two trails it was unclear which way to go. Other than that it was great. There is an interesting small cemetery. The trails cross small brooks in several places, with secure bridge crossings. I might choose to do just one of the loops next time, if I can figure out how to skip one of them. It was a pleasant couple of hours.

There's a lot to do at this little park. - playground - paved walking trail - fenced in dog park - unpaved hiking trails - pavilion for parties - enclosed building restroom - baseball/softball field - disc golf course - sand volleyball The grounds crew works hard to keep the trails and park clean so visitors can run around without tripping over fallen branches or leaves. The hiking trails are also well maintained without over-clearing the natural wilderness of the woods. We are lucky that Horizons Park is so close to our house because it's a great place to get an outdoor workout in or take the family for a fun afternoon.

It has a few agility items of in one corner by themselves and the rest of the park is just open area for your dog to run in. It is built on a nice gentle sloping Hill and has concrete pathways to get to the entry. Both entries are double gated and concrete and the fence line is all deeply buried in some kind of mulch around the edge of the park.

They also have a couple pretty decent size TVs so this could be a good place to catch a game while still getting exercise for your dog. You don't actually need to bring a dog to come, though you might need to sign some basic paperwork. I'd check with the website or call first. If you don't have a dog because of your living situation or other reasons this can be a good way to get your fix and enjoy some good beer at the same time. As her horrible dog tries to menace your pets, then rolls her eyes and eventually strolls over when the horrid thing gets actively violent. I think she likes having the park to herself, and she gets there super early, so everyone else just sort of avoids her spot. The good news is that she's usually gone by 10 or 11 AM, but she's a menace.

From the sign/arrow that points at window rock, climb down and you will see the window in the rock to your right. Through the window, you can see a waterfall! My daughter enjoyed playing in the water, resting to eat treats, and running around the playground afterward when she could dry off and warm up a little. The playground itself is geared towards the younger side but the park itself is surrounded by the woods, a big open field, a basketball court and a baseball field, so I've noticed the older kids can easily occupy themselves just fine, especially if they bring their own bicycles or scooters. This is a popular park to bring dogs as well, because of the ample space to walk including a small path in the woods. Depending on the time of day you go there is shade, and plenty of places to sit. Very popular park in the summer season, but overall a nice setup. Parking lot was also recently paved and is next to the shelters making thing easy for set up should you decided to reserve a shelter. I've been to a few events here (craft market, dog show, Christmas tree lighting) It's not the largest park but has the amount of space that we need for what we like to do.
