I had another chair recovered in velvet at Calico Corners in Wilmette and it does not attract dust and lint at all so it is not necessarily a function of all velvets. You were not nearly as helpful as you sound here on yelp when I had these complaints after the sofa was done. You' were completely unresponsive and refused to assist any further. At minimum, the sofa should've been comfortable and you definitely did mislead me on your product.

Nick, Lydia and team did a truly extraordinary and masterful job of transforming four 60-year-old…read morearmchairs into beautiful like-new chairs. They are wizards at their craft, and we strongly recommend them to you. When the chairs were deivered to their shop, they had an assortment of significant defects after decades of use. The material had worn thin in areas, with a few tears in fabric. The padding on the seats and backs no longer provided the support they once did. The wood arms anad legs were severely scratched and discolored. We wondered whether we should just put them out for scavenger pickup. But we really liked the style and could find no comparable new chairs. So, we tracked down Nick's after reading all their 5-star reviews. Nick's totally transformed the chairs. They first refinished the wood so that it was like new. They helped us choose the perfect fabric and skillfully installed it after first replacing the padding. In short, it is hard to conceive that anyone else could have done a better job. And. while we were in no hurry to get the chairs back, they returned them at exactly the timeframe estimated. Everything was outstanding across the board.

We reached out in December and they were excellent with expediting the eating chairs to have by Christmas, without us even pushing for that. Luckily the fabric was already available but we still didn't expect a 1-2 week turnaround. We are still waiting on the office chairs but are excited to see how The fabric and work done is top notch! The chairs are comfortable, updated and very well upholstered. We've never gotten furniture recovered before but we thought the prices were reasonable for the experience, services and product!

The new material really modernized the couch, and the decorative upholstery brads are beautifully installed. The other chairs look fabulous, too. I'm so glad we went with this company. The delivery guys were friendly and very careful with the furniture, Ceil was helpful with picking out material, and the job was done within the time promised.

You can see the damage. I didn't have high hopes for the future of this chair or its mate that had suffered a fair amount of cat abuse over the same time period. Anthony and his team are phenomenal. Given photos, he provide an honest estimate. Next he guided us in choosing new fabric from over a thousand choices. His associates took the chairs from our living room to their shop, telling us when they'd be done. They were completed right on time and the project cost was not a penny more than the quote. But beyond that, just look at the craftsmanship! The quality of the work is outstanding. I was floored. I thought these chairs were ready for the dumpster and now they're ready for the showroom. Brand new chairs could not possibly look better or be sturdier than these. And they would have cost about double what we paid for the reupholstering. If you think you have a challenging reupholstering project, Anthony and his team are more than up to the task. You will not be sorry for choosing them.

Reader, he remembered us from a month ago--the only other time I've been in this store. I know he wasn't just saying that because he cooed over my baby and specifically remarked about the fact that she was awake this time instead of sleeping through the shopping trip (which was true). This is what makes shopping at local businesses so much fun; you get to established a rapport with someone who lives what they do, lives their neighbors, and wants to make sure that you enjoy shopping with them. Again as I came through I thought about how I wish I could hire an interior designer with Kenneth Ludwig on the shortlist. They didn't disappoint with their Christmas decor. They have lots of ornaments, all beautiful, and other holiday items. I REALLY love the stocking holders they have. They look like those old ceramic Christmas trees that lots of our grandmothers had, and it even lights up. I am almost certainly going to be returning before Christmas to pick up a couple. If you're in the neighborhood, I highly encourage a drop by.
