No follow through. One experienced worker was exceptional and deserves credit for being thorough making sure roots were dug out after pulling out large ornamental grasses as requested. The other worker did not trim crepe myrtle tree as expected and explained during estimate process leaving over grown branches draped over other branches. Roots were not pulled out after removing old bushes and some plants were not pulled at all. Could not get team to come back to right the wrongs nor to complete phase two of installing new plants. Ended up creating more work for me to maintain the weeds that took over vs following through on their commitments. Made endless excuses why they were too busy even though we arranged our plan 6 mos prior. Very disappointed in the company leadership. read more

Recinos Landscaping and Tree Service is the only company that I will ever use to remove trees around my house. I had a large oak tree situated behind my house and my neighbor which had dropped several branches and damaged our properties. The tree needed to be taken down immediately. I contacted a business associate whose recommendation I highly trusted and he referred me to Hector at Recinos Landscaping and Tree Service. Wow...I cannot say enough. Now I know why Hector was so highly recommended. When I first met with Hector, he made it clear that he would assist me with submitting all of the paperwork needed to obtain the necessary Anne Arundel County permits. Hector immediately contacted the county and met with the forester at my house. He clearly explained the urgency for removing the oak tree and additionally two mature dying 100 feet poplar trees that also posed a safety concern. Erica, the office manager, assisted me with filling out all county forms and she promptly submitted them to the county once I completed and signed them. Once the permit was approved, Hector and his crew arrived promptly on the scheduled date and time. To remove the trees, Hector used a boom crane to access all three trees. The crane operator was a master at operating the boom. The crew was outstanding, professional and hard working. The entire operation was highly organized and done efficiently. When moving their heavy equipment and dropping the tree trunks, the crew paid special attention to not damage my underground sprinkler system or recently installed BAT septic system. I also requested that the limbs of the oak tree be left behind for firewood. Hector's father who supervised the crew, personally cut the limbs into 15-inch lengths so that it would be much easier when I split them. Many thanks to your father for doing this for me. After the tree trunks and wood chipper were removed from the property, the crew paid incredible attention to cleaning up all of the loose leaves, acorns, wood chips, and sawdust. So much so, that when they left the ground was so clean that no one would have ever known that the trees were removed. In summary, everything was done perfectly, and Hector and Erica were there to support me throughout the process. I need to say it again, Recinos Landscaping and Tree Service is the only company that I will ever use to remove trees around my house. When others ask me to recommend a tree removal service, I will without hesitation recommend Recinos Landscaping and Tree Service. read more

Recinos worked at a neighbors house. They pulled a large truck onto my property which is clearly identified as private property and caused damage to personal property. I sent them the detail video and they have refused to resolve. They made excuses that they contacted their insurance company etc. Then never responded to resolve the issue. I am very disappointed and would certainly not recommend this company. read more

I hired this company to cut down a couple of old sassafras trees in the backyard. It was not a particularly easy job. They had to avoid damaging all of the groundcover and other ornamental plants that we have. In addition they were to trim all dead limbs, of which there were a lot, 2 inches or larger. Frankly, I figured if I got the two trees cut down and a few branches cut I'd be lucky. When I got home from out of town I was shocked and amazed to see that they did everything and more that they contracted for. They didn't leave a mark on the ground. Every ounce of lumber was taken away. The place was clean and it looked like the sassafras Grove had a new haircut! It was a little bit of a chore to tie them down for when they would do the job but I guess that is because they're in such demand since they do such amazing work. I would heartily recommend this company for this kind of work. read more

Hector came out to look at a small job to take down a few dead branches in my alley which is not prominently visible to anyone but me, but i was worried that it could do some damage to neighbors back yard or to cars parked nearby. Gave me an estimate for $600 to trim the branches which is very reasonable but said he would take the whole tree down for $900 (also very reasonable) and i told him to proceed . But while he was there he noticed some large branches hanging over my roof and said these really need to come down because squirrels could enter my attic ( okay i suppose but i never saw this as a big concern) He quoted me another $900 to do that work and i reluctantly approved that too. His guys came out on time and were very professional BUT: 1) he only took the top half of the tree in my alley and left the trunk in place. Although this solved my problem, Hector said he couldn't take the trunk down because that would involve hauling away the logs from the trunk and that would have been extra (although i was told the tree would be taken down and never informed about the trunk - OK, not a big deal i guess) 2) when i got the invoice, i was charged another $150 for what I'm told were additional dead branches on the big tree that were removed without asking for my approval. This is not a big deal, and if i was told about it at the time, i would have probably agreed to the $150 additional charge, but i only found out when i got the invoice with no explanation. repeated calls to his office went unanswered and it took a month to finally get a response with the $150 additional charge still there. So a job that i thought would cost me $600, ended up costing me $1,950 and i still have a tree trunk in my alley that i thought was to be removed. i may be wrong but i feel i was taken advantage of. Recino's did great work but the lack of explanation and slow response to my request for one, makes me question their administrative professionalism and maybe even their integrity, and i am left with a bad taste because and feel i was a bit conned. I'm going to pay the invoice but I'm not so happy with the way this was handled. read more

I called Recinos last week for tree service. A big oak fell on my circle drive and I had a dead tree by the road and another big oak that was almost touching my house. They came out the same evening and gave me an estimate and what they recommended. I got another estimate from another company that was a bit less expensive but I felt I would get a better job from Recinos. I had talked to Carlos. They came out and took care of everything and left my yard looking like I hadn't even had any trees cut down except for the logs I requested to leave for me to split for firewood and they were on the very edge of my yard out of the way and not on the grass. I would use them again in a heartbeat I'm glad I went with Recinos!! Thanks for the great job! I would highly recommend them. read more

Can I give zero stars? Here is the message I received from the owner of the company. All due to me simply going in another direction. This solidified my decision. "Next time you commit to something, keep a word of a man. I trusted Tom and trusted your self and that's why I didn't make sign a contract when you agree to it. To me personally a mans word is more valuable than a contract because that's how I grew up. Hopefully this project goes well to you and no one does you wrong. Good luck" read more

Owner Hector Recinos offered me less than market price at the price of less professionalism. I contracted with him verbally to do work both for my HOA and for me personally. I had gotten a verbal price form him last winter for trimming a tree in my backyard. This spring he wanted the same $700 cited last winter to trim my tree, while accepting only $1000 to completely remove 3 HOA trees. I told him that if he would also trim the espaliered pyracantha growing up my house's facade, I'd pay the $700. Long story short, after multiple text messages over multiple months, that pyracantha never got trimmed, and now that it's in flower, it's too late. I also had to press him with messages for invoices. He got argumentative when I said I'd deduct $50 from the $700 for leaving out the pyracantha, so I told him that I'm dissatisfied but would pay the $700 and end all business with him there. He was good with that. So, my advice is, if you have rough work you want done cheap, take his sub-par price with a grain of salt and caution. To my eye, he did a hack-job on one of our street's most venerable trees last year with radical trimming, and if I weren't there to guide his guys this year (because he wasn't), they would have done damage to my garden. As the saying goes, you get what you pay for. read more

Had an appointment for an estimate and took off work. Texted me an hour before saying he wouldn't make it because he had other jobs to take care of. Told him if I couldn't trust him enough to make it out for the appt that I would look elsewhere. He sends me pics of all his work asking me to reconsider. Texted him back offering one more chance and zero response. Funny that the only other review here has the owner criticizing others for not keeping their word. read more
