Naturally, I was excited to check it out -- both for the atmosphere and the connection to such a well-respected local figure. We visited on a summer evening and found the place quiet at first, but it started to liven up around 9 p.m., especially in the bar area, drawing a pretty young and energetic crowd. The vibe is casual and welcoming, though parking can be a bit of a challenge -- even on a slower night, it was tough to find a spot nearby, and most options require payment, so come prepared. Our server mentioned it was their first week, but they still did a great job. Service was attentive without being overbearing. The prices were surprisingly reasonable, especially for a trendy College Town location. We ordered the pretzel rolls, Caesar salads, and a few pours of their signature beer, Outlaw, which was just $5 and very good. Everything we ordered was fresh and flavorful. Our total came to $62 for two full meals, four beers, and a tip -- not bad at all, especially given the quality and portion sizes. While the restaurant does include some Bobby Bowden memorabilia, I expected a bit more of a nostalgic or themed atmosphere considering the namesake. A few more personal touches or FSU throwbacks would really round out the space and elevate the experience for fans and newcomers alike. Overall, Bowden's is a great spot for a casual night out -- whether you're grabbing a bite before the bar crowd rolls in or sticking around for drinks in the heart of College Town. I'd definitely go back.

Disappointed and Concerned - Avoid Township…read more I visited Township near closing time with my wife, daughter, and her boyfriend. We ordered drinks around 1:50 AM and were peacefully enjoying them when, at 2:00 AM, a security guard aggressively demanded that I leave--even though I clearly explained I was waiting for my wife. Despite my calm explanation, he became confrontational and even violent. I immediately brought this to the attention of Matt, the manager, but to my surprise, he said nothing to the security guard and took no action whatsoever. We were left feeling unsafe and disrespected in what should have been a simple and enjoyable night out. This situation was completely unacceptable and potentially dangerous. I would strongly advise others to steer clear of Township. There are far better places in town that prioritize the safety and dignity of their guests.

As a woman i'd say you'll most likely be met with some uncomfortable men and the people who work here don't care to make sure you feel safe at all. I can say that the person I was reporting also did something to a girl at Vice down the road and was met with a completely different reaction. The secruity guards at vice took me seriously and not only made me feel safe but also the woman who I was speaking for. They found the man kicked him out/looking at footage to ban the man. Point being, township won't do anything to keep you safe, and you'll be met with gross men working there allowing that type of behavior slide. Many reasons as to why woman don't report any assault that happens to them is because of the security guards(men of course) at township. Gross. I can understand what are they supposed to do but could've been met with more severity rather than the carelessness and misogynistic behavior i was met with. Can firmly say Vice Society will listen and take everything seriously and make sure you feel comfortable. The guards at vice even walked the girls out to make sure they were okay getting home. I also stayed with the girls for a while after. Just honestly disgusted and disappointed with the behavior I witnessed with the security guards at township. Thought the whole point of having security guards is for the safety of your customers? hm interesting. Mind you this is a place for college students to have fun, but the carelessness and ignorance makes it so unsafe for college girls.

The burger I ordered was really solid -- cooked just right and super flavorful. Fries were on point too. Definitely tasted like a staple and local favorite. The place was really nice inside -- great vibe, awesome ambiance, and a cool spot to hang out for a bit. I did notice the craft cocktails were a bit on the pricey side, though. They look fancy and all, but I'm not sure the cost matched the overall experience. Service was the main drawback for me. Our waitress only made it by about three times during a 90-minute visit. She seemed super busy and may have been the only one waitstaff member working the floor, but the lack of attentiveness definitely showed. Since it was my first time there, I would've appreciated a few recommendations, but none were offered. I think my experience might've been a little better sitting at the bar instead of a table. Still, good food and a nice atmosphere made up for some of it. Just wish the service matched the quality of the burger!

The place has an indoor bar with seating, just outside of that is some covered porch seating, and beyond that is a huge patio on artificial grass with a bunch of tables and lounge seating. The bar has a menu ful of tropical adult beverages and cuban food favs. Their food menu includes: wings, churrasco, parrilla, salads, steak, empanadas, fried queso cubes, croquetas, yuca, street corn wraps, burgers, sandwiches and plantains. I came here at night and I had to pay a $10 cover charge to get in and all I wanted to do was eat. They had a DJ pumping hits, but I did not see why a cover charge was needed. This place was empty. The bar has a lot of security floating around and I had to get patted down before I entered which I took as a sign of prior issues. The staff there was friendly. It was a nice night so I sat out on the patio. They have a full bar with an exquisite menu that includes signature cocktails, mimosa, mojitos, and daiquiris. Of course I had to try some. I had the Son of a Biche and a Miami Mojito. They were bot great and I would definitely recommend them. The menu is full of tasty fufu drinks though and you probably could not go wrong. I ordered the churrasco with chimichurri sauce. I got a side of fries, fried yuca and sweet plantains. It took about 15 minutes for me to get my food. I really liked the steak it was perfectly seasoned and flavorful. The plantains were not the best that I have had, but they were good. Fries are fries. It is hard to mess them up. The yuca was good. I do not normally eat yuka, but I ate all of those. This spot is very colorful and bright and has a lot stuff going on. Probably a bit too much for me. It was like a club like atmosphere, but with a few people. I would probably recommend coming to this place for lunch unless you are into the club vibe.

**Review: Solid Steak Dinner at The Edison**…read more I had a pleasant dinner at The Edison recently and walked away satisfied, especially with the food. Service was just okay--nothing terrible, but the appetizers definitely took longer than expected to come out. That said, our server was genuinely good: friendly, knowledgeable, and checked on us at the right moments without being overbearing. The appetizers were worth the wait. Both the fried green tomatoes and the crab appetizer were excellent--fresh, flavorful, and nicely executed. For the main course, the steak was spot-on: tender, well-seasoned, and cooked exactly as ordered. The potatoes that came with it were also really good--creamy and tasty without being heavy. We ended the meal with the bread pudding, and it was one of the best parts of the night. It was done perfectly: warm, moist, and full of rich, comforting flavor that didn't feel overly sweet. All in all, The Edison delivers on the food front. If you're after a reliable steak with some standout starters and a strong dessert, it's a solid choice. Ambiance was good, love the historic building. I'll definitely be back for the steak and bread pudding. Recommended!
