Reboot Computers customer for life after the absolutely amazing customer service I just got. I'm not gonna lie I am not the most tech savvy person, especially when it comes to computers. I have a mid range gaming pc that needed its' stock cpu fan replaced due to it whining and called Reboot to see if they could install it for me, which they were happy to do. After work today I brought my computer in and the owner Jack let me watch him through the whole process so I could learn as well.. Super kudos for that! Then after mentioning to him that at some point I would like to add a second exhaust fan he said he would install an exhaust fan that he had in the back of his store, for free! Mega Kudos!!! He then cleaned my computer out of all the debris and dust that was built up inside (It was like a giant hairy wookie in there!) as well as de-dusted my graphics card. When all was said and done and everything was installed he gave me recommendations on an even better cpu fan for the future, then proceeded to say "No charge." I was absolutely astonished!! He let me watch him upgrade my computer, with not only the cpu fan I had brought in but with a free exhaust fan that was his, then cleaned out my computer.. and did all that without charging me a dime. Did I expect that? Not at all it blew me away and actually made my day. You can tell the Jack (owner) really loves and cares for his company and for his customers. He went above and beyond my expectations in every way possible. This is the first and last computer repair store I will go to, hands down. I HIGHLY recommend Reboot Computers in Groton, Connecticut. This was honestly the best customer service I have ever had. Any future installations or problems I may have, I will be going directly here. 20/10 stars. This place is great. My screen to my computer would suddenly go black. I went to Best Buy, they said they would look at it for a $99 and wouldn't tell me a thing. I called Toshiba, the guy I talked to had no clue,but said for a small fee of $50 they could look at it and I would have to send it out. Someone told me about this place, I'm so happy he did. I brought my computer in around 8 maybe 9, I was called at noon to say my computer was fine and the only problem was my fan needed to be cleaned, which was causing the overheating making my screen go black.This place is fast, efficient, professional and honest, which is the most important in my book. I came in yesterday because my 2015 Mac screen was black but the system would turn on. Fortunately, the second I walked in my laptop decided to work leaving me slightly embarrassed. But Reboot ran tests and looked over my system free of charge to see if they could find why that would happen. The man up front was very nice and extremely intelligent as I myself have a background in IT. They provide free full diagnostics that takes 3 business days, which I would have opted for if I didn't have immediate business to do on my system. My mom recently went here for a laptop issue. She had said she's been there before awhile back and they had been very nice. It took a couple days to get returned, as she had a couple of viruses, but they were very nice and helpful. My mom couldn't express how nice they were to her when she picked up her computer, and how they took the time to explain everything (and show her) before she left. They broke my computer!! I needed a new power jack. The computer would work and take a charge, but only if the power cord was pressed to the rear of the computer. A WEEK after I dropped off the computer, they called and told me it needed a new motherboard for some $220! I misunderstood and thought the power jack couldn't be replaced without replacing the mother board. I said no thank you, figuring we would just get by, doing what we had been doing for the past few months. When I arrived to pick up my computer they said that since I wasn't going to fix the mother board they wouldn't charge me the $25 for the new power cord they ordered. The guy behind the counter said they would "have to eat that I guess". I said "I'll take the new charger", mistakenly thinking my computer still worked. Their guy asked "Why? The motherboard is burned out.. We replaced the jack but the board doesn't power up." They replaced the jack and FRIED my motherboard. They wanted to charge me for the jack! When I told the owner "This was a working computer when I brought it into the store" he just said "I don't think so." He told me that when the jack broke it must have shorted out the motherboard. I insisted the computer was working with the broken jack for months. His only response was "Well I disagree." As we went back and forth he gestures with his hands and then drops them onto my closed laptop. He didn't bang his fists in anger, rather he dropped his hands in frustration, banging my closed laptop. When he did it a second time, I grabbed the computer and pulled it to me, yelling "Would you Stop banging my computer!" He says back to me "Why? I thought we broke it already." What a creep! Eventually he asked me what did I want him to do. I asked what he wanted to charge for the jack, he said "Nothing." I said "I'll take my computer and run." I wasn't going to let him touch it again. What I thought might be a big Scam to charge more money was probably just total INCOMPETENCE . I'll see them in court! read more
