This place has the worst customer service I have ever experienced. One of their lemonade bottles exploded on my counter in a million pieces like a bomb and the owner did nothing, barely even apologized. She actually made this frightening experience much worse with her terrible attitude. The bottle nearly blew up in my daughters face and could have been very serious if not deadly. I acknowledge it was left out and not in fridge for 2 days as label didn't say "must be refrigerated"... but does that mean it should explode like a Molotov cocktail? I will never shop here again and many people I have shared this story with have agreed. read more

They contacted me a day after to explain the situation, and have even taken steps to remove the Big Veg off the menu based on my suggestions/comments. The owners are two very heartful and dedicated women. It's wonderful to see such passion and care! ***END UPDATE Came here today for lunch with a friend! I ordered the Big Veg (a bunch of vegetables wrapped in collard greens) with their nutty bacon, and a side of sipping broth. My friend got their Seed to Sausage on beet bread, also with a side of sipping broth. The service there is very friendly, and it's a very hip and cool place! I love the concept, and it gives off a great vibe. However, my first experience was less than ideal... The Big Veg cost me $9, and with the sipping broth ($3), the total should have been $12. For some reason, they charged me $15, and so I asked for them to correct it. The correction took a while, but eventually they gave me back in cash. However, the cashier mistakenly gave me less than the amount owed, and overall, the entire refund process was quite slow. That being said, they were very apologetic and kind through it all, so the service was pretty good! My Big Veg fell short of expectations. First off, I must note that it is a take-out place. Although they had warned me beforehand to eat my wrap as a gyro (as the collard green is fragile and cannot sustain the content's weight), by the time I had arrived at my sit-down destination, the paper bag was soaked through. The sauce and dressing had leaked everywhere! It was a very messy eat, and despite being very careful, the sauce just kept dripping down my arms and in front of me. I would highly suggest that they reinforce the packaging for stronger protection (i.e., a double wrap). The wrap itself also lacked flavour, though that may have been in part due to my decision to get the nutty bacon (which was essentially just hemp, fried walnuts, with some smokey flavour). Maybe try the cheese or the actual bacon for more taste. The bone broth, though interesting, could have used more depth and flavour. Given my experiences, I would have given two stars - however, I had a bite of my friend's Seed to Sausage sandwich and it was quite tasty! I think it really depends on what menu item you ordered. Tried two of their bottled drinks and they were alright. (I forget the name of it) but the brown drink just tasted like chocolate nut milk, but the orange drink (forgot the name again) had a good balance of flavours. Probably wouldn't go for their drinks again, but definitely willing to try their food! Keep in mind it's more of a take-out spot! Let's hear it for the ladies of Rebel Remedy!! It's a scary thing to branch out and scarier too to be fighting for coffee room in the downtown core but they are doing it right by bringing in my biased fave: Pilot Coffee Roasters (bias because I work for Locomotive Espresso of course which serves it also). But this is more than coffee. It's a take-out haven with some great fresh eats, some original pressed juices and a turmeric & pear kombucha that though bit vinegary for my taste buds was on point with it's bubble factor! As a few reviews have said including Lincoln's they are working some kinks out. But given this is their first week open that is both to be expected and understood. There are lots of things when opening a cafe you can troubleshoot before open and many things that you can not. They did their due diligence and it shows in their passion and respect for the products they serve. The wide door to the kitchen shows you they've got nothing to hide and take pride in making their juices, kombucha and food in house which is re-flexed in the pricing. Honestly if you want to pay less I get it... and there are plenty of those type of places around. That said I didn't try my hand at any coffee because I'd just come from work and was still buzzing. But given they have it and I live near by I will definitely be in for some soon. I have my charcoal lemonade sweetened with maple syrup called Sunday Morning waiting for exactly that so I can't speak to it yet, but I would say give them a shot London. read more

Finally made it down this afternoon for a coffee this afternoon and it looks like this place is going to be pretty sweet. I use the future tense here only because it appears there are still a few kinks that have to be worked out. For example, there was a blender issue this afternoon which meant a number of items weren't available. Of course, I was there for coffee so it was not an issue for me. The place is sparsley decorated but looks really cool. There is no seating - so it appears you'll be taking your remedies on the road. They offer breakfasts, sandwiches, salads, bone broth soups, cold-pressed juice, espresso drinks, blended tonics, desserts, and kombucha. I would be remiss if I didn't mention it is on the pricey side. For example my americano (large) ran me $4.50. A wrap is $9 and a salad is $12 if you need a couple of more examples. My americano was really tasty but maybe a little cooler than I would have liked. Not warm or even warm temperature - actually cool. That being said, the service was friendly, the place looks great and I have high hopes for this place - looks like a real treasure in the making! read more

The offerings here seem pretty good and my pick was an elixir called "Lucky Charms" Served in a recyclable glass container, it was really good but not sure about the $9.00 plus tax good. Not being from here, London is sorrily lacking for excellent restaurants, especially vegan/vegetarian. I read other reviews about how great owners were, other posts were a year old, so something must have happened, because I wasn't feeling the love that day. Even though I'm vegan and it's a tough go here, I'd probably have to pass on this place again because of: downtown-no parking, pretty expensive for what you get, and overall atmosphere didn't feel very positive. read more

Visited a Fantastic new cafe in London today! Rebel Remedy. My friend told me it just opened, and their vegan cheesecake is to die for.. Firstly, the decor is so cool. It reminded me of a little place I visited in Brooklyn NY. It has live edge wood, cool wallpaper, and an unreal concrete counter top. Anyways, the food.. I ordered one of their many flavours of kombucha, a TROUT sandwich, and the cheesecake. My friend informed me that it was a takeout place, so after receiving my order from the front counter lady (great service, she answered all of my silly questions about ingredients etc), I took the lunch to my downtown office. WOW! I've actually never had a trout sandwich, but it was soo delicious. It's a wonder that I had room for the cheesecake... and yes, the cheesecake lived up to its reputation. Of course, they supplied cutlery. I noticed that it was completly reusable and biodegradable. For those who care about that kind of stuff, this business is putting their money where their mouth is. Lastly, the kombucha was one of the best I've ever tried. What a meal! Actually felt great afterwards. These girls are the real deal! Finally, a healthy and delicious lunch place downtown! I recently tried here for the first time. The restaurant has a great concept, and a good variety of menu options. However, customer service is lacking significantly. Any question I had about the menu items or food sourcing was answered defensively and impatiently, leaving me feeling like a nuisance for asking. The food was quite bland, but I was still happy knowing I was consuming a healthy, nutrient-dense meal. The staff are arrogant and just completely rude. While asking some questions I received very snobbish response and negative attitude from the staff. I felt extremely uncomfortable while visiting. This is a great addition to the downtown area. I have tried a range of their juices and tarts and they have always been fresh and delicious. I particularly enjoyed the brie and raspberry tart. They are a bit on the pricy side but that is because of the quality ingredients. I would definitely recommend this place for people looking for innovative and healthy options. read more
