Pistachio muffin
John B.

This cafe sits adjacent to the high school and draws a local crowd, but I picked it because it was relatively close to the airport. The menu is old school but broad, with various bagel sandwiches and pastries complementing a range of coffee, tea, and smoothies. I got a spiced chai latte. It was good, but I would say the sugar and spice were stronger than any actual tea flavor. My pistachio muffin was likewise sweet but the nut flavor elevated things. It was a quick and easy experience despite the place being fairly busy, and though it wasn't perfectly aligned with what I would have wanted, it was good for a community care.

Very cool coffee shop! The first time I came was years ago and it was more hole-in-the-wall than it is now. They had only a few tables and it was very sparse inside. Now, they've got a ton more tables and couches. A lot of people like hanging in here. I saw retired folks, students, etc. It seems like a popular place now! The space is fairly large and it can host a lot of people. I was surprised how many people were there as we sat. We had arrived around 10:30 on a Wednesday. There was even a line at the register. I got the lavender latte with almond milk. It was bit more frothy on top than I needed. It was pretty decent. My friends got regular coffee, an iced toasted marshmallow latte, and an iced tea. They all enjoyed it! This is one of my friends' favorite spots and I can see why. It's a great atmosphere and the staff seems pretty nice. The place could be a little brighter and the bathrooms could be a little less jank. I'm glad I got to return ! I'm open to trying other syrups for the lattes. One issue is parking. There aren't a ton of spots and it can fill up very quickly! Still, it's worth checking out!

Supposed to be THICK CUT bacon. Blatant lie on this cafes part.

Pretty upset about ordering a THICK CUT bacon egg and cheese croissant and opening it to find the thinnest bacon you could possibly find. Falsely advertised as (Thick Cut) on their menu. Also on my order was a Black Eye caramel w/ room no sugar and somehow sugar ended up the coffee. Not happy with my experience at all and drove thirty minutes as this used to be the best coffee shop around.

Notice how the actual charges are higher than the menu

Wonderful cafe, friendly people. I'd give them a 5 instead of a 4, except they charge you more than they say they will on the menu. I pointed this out to them a week ago but they don't fix it, which is disappointing.

I love this place. It's a great neighborhood coffee shop just like on the set of Friends. I ordered a decaf coffee with shit of coconut flavoring. Very tropical. My friend and I also ordered lunch a tuna salad on a pita and my friend had the chicken salad in a spinach wrap. Their coffee menu is huge and they have about 15 different flavors. It's a great place to hangout

Almond Frappe

It's quite a good place. We had an Almond Frappe and a Mango Smoothie. We wanted to have some hot food as well like a sandwich but they had closed on that since it was a Sunday evening and they were to close in about an hour. They only had muffins and some cakes available which we were not in a mood to have. Almond Frappe had a weird initial taste but I liked it after a few sips. Mango smoothie was good. A lot of space indoors to sit. However, you get a little claustrophobic feeling since the walls are too packed with something or the other. Natural light is less too. However, they have an outdoor seating which is fairly comfortable. Overall, a nice cafe but I guess I'll explore more

raspberry chai and an iced strawberry matcha (the anti-hero)
Kenz G.

stopped in today and per my grandma, who only orders chai at coffee shops, the raspberry chai is the best she's ever had.

Beautiful.

I stopped by for a quick lunch during the week and wanted an easy to-go sandwich. They have a medium sized menu but a lot of different options which makes it a bit hard to pick haha! I decided on a reuben sandwich with all of the fixens inside. I was surprised that I was the only one in there because of the amount of rave reviews. It was a small quaint little place. The employees were suppperrrr nice and gave me a lot of time to think about my order. The vibes in there were very cool with fun music and just overall a good time. Now onto the Reuben. Holy cow! It was juicy and very flavorful, with the perfect amount of sauerkraut. The bread was toasty and the sandwich was nice and warm but not too hot. I think this will be a new spot for me for lunch!

Essentially for me I had waited too long to eat and the idea of waiting longer was a non starter for me. Sandwiches are not my go to food outside the house, it seems silly on some level. However, the sandwich I had was fantastic and well balanced. There was a good amount of everything without it being too much. Sometimes it's too much. This was great. They also had good, homemade or freshly made sides like potato salad and other salads you could get. It was great.

But what I remember most of all is the food, particularly ducking into a little shop off a piazza somewhere to grab whatever I could buy and eat while we walked to our next sightseeing destination--a pastry, a slice of pizza, or a sandwich. At Alveo, I almost feel like I'm right back there. The restaurant is small and lively, not a place to linger exactly but a place where you can tell you'll be taken care of. Just as many patrons are ordering to go as they are to stay. And the sandwiches? Good enough to power many, many steps of sightseeing across cobblestones, or just get you through the afternoon at your home or office in Cincinnati. They've absolutely nailed the ingredients on every sandwich I've tried, with high-quality components selected specifically for how they go together. (Like those little sandwich shops in Europe, there are no substitutions here--unless you'd like gluten free bread.) The bread? Unreal how it can hold these constructions together while being soft and delicious. The meats? Perfection. The cheese? Incredible. That pistachio stuff? I see it in my dreams. The one area where Alveo definitely deviates from its European brethren is portion size--these sandwiches are huge! They come in a paper wrapper, inside a to-go box, and believe me, you will probably need it. Each time I've been to Alveo I've ended up eating about half the sandwich for lunch and the rest for dinner, maybe with a snack in between, and felt perfectly satisfied for the day. So, yes, the $20+ price tag might discourage you, but don't let it. It's a $20 investment in a very, very delicious day.

It was good, but nothing crazy special and a bit pricy for the size in my opinion. My friend ordered the same but with half chicken salad, half egg salad--which I wish I did to try both! However, the worker who helped us (he started two weeks ago!) was exceedingly nice and helpful with recommendations. I think they're actually more known for their pickles (cool to see they also offer fermentation classes) so I'd be interested in trying their Pickle Boat and some cold salads next time. (Also wish my sandwich came with a pickle!) There is both interior and exterior patio seating and lots of pig-themed decor throughout the store. This wouldn't be a regular spot for me because of the price-to-portion size ratio, but I would be excited to come again to try more of their menu.

I had heard that their pop-up dinners sell out very quickly so I was ready the day they were posted and grabbed a few spots for one of their February dates. We arrived and were greeted with a glass of Prosecco and then we found a seat at the long community table set for 20; it was so much fun getting to know the people seated next to us! Dinner was delicious! Four courses-the gnocchi with sausage was our favorite dish of the night.

If you follow them on socials, you can score a seat at the pop-ups. The place is an old house with a lot of character. The food for carryout is fantastic and their bread is fantastic. We live in West Chester and have driven down to there a few times just to pick up delicious dinners. We just attended our first dinner there last Tuesday. Oh My Goodness! What a treat. Jordan greeted us with a glass of Prosecco and directed us where to sit a long table that seats 20. We introduced ourselves to our seatmates and then our first dish arrived. Chef does explain the food before we had each dish, however we wished there was more background and history as to how this place came into being. So expect fantastic food without a lot of details. The first dish was a salad made with all local ingredients. It was so fresh and the dressing made with fresh dill was fantastic. The second dish was a ravioli with northern Italian cheese on a bed of butternut squash puree and brown butter. The pasta was SO delicate and the flavors complimented each other so well. The third dish was a 6 hour braised pork shoulder with ricotta gnocchi in a sauce with Calabrian chilis and I don't know what else. We have been to Italy and all the Italian restaurants in Cincinnati and never had anything like this. It was truly phenomenal. Dessert was a apple upside down cake served warm with whipped cream...fantastic. You bring your own wine, and Jordan is on it by never letting your glass get empty, pouring water, and clearing dishes. Service was so great and she is so friendly and accommodating. The cost was a very reasonable $100/pp and SO worth it. There is no menu, so you go in just devouring what Chef has prepared.
