My sister ordered the combination Pho - it was very flavorful, the tendon was tender. It was a 5 out of 5. However, I was very disappointed. I ordered the House Special Vermicelli Bowl. The egg roll and grilled pork was very salty. The owner asked us how the food was and I told her about the saltiness. She just thanked me and didn't do anything about it. Not coming back here as the Vermicelli Bowl is what I always order in Vietnamese restaurants and to me it is a negative score. Needs improvement on their PR. When a customer complains about the food, they should try to make up in some way such as replacing the food. read more

As a diabetic, it is hard to find a place with low carbs. This restaurant always cooperates with my wacky substitutions. Their pho and vermicelli dishes are heavenly, I usually get take out but when we did eat at their cute little restaurant, it felt welcoming and warm. We had very high hopes! Usually the hole in the wall places are always a surprise hit. Not here. The service first of all was lacking. There were only three tables and it took a while for the waitress to come to us. We ordered the egg rolls as an appetizer. She asked if we wanted it first or with our meal. We said before. Well they never came, or they did but when were almost done with our meal. I had the Korean beef bbq with rice, the table had the chicken fried rice and I forgot what the other dish was. We ate here awhile back and just now getting caught up. We are huge on value, but don't mind paying a premium if the food is worth it. This was not it. I will start with my plate which was overpriced. The Korean beef plate was literally one flanken rib cut into three pieces. Shame on yall! With a scoop of white rice and cucumber. Wait staff was a gem, the pho broth had a wonderful taste, but the chicken in the chicken pho was so tough I'm glad I was not wearing dentures. In lieu of breast meat maybe utilize thigh meat which is much more tender. I brought the leftover home and chopped up the remaining chicken to make it palatable. read more

Good place to get your pho fix. Clean tables utensils and floors. Wide spaces. Pleasant temperature, thanks to the 8 of 8 working ceiling fans. Friendly staff. Nice pho broth. It was hot but not steaming. Garnishes very fresh. Summer roll was shorter and slightly wider than typical, but was clearly just hand wrapped with slices of slightly warm beef and cool shrimp inside with the fresh munchies inside. Truly looked forward to some pho and banh mi , but was sadly disappointed! Large open space with plenty of table seating, friendly server, and large menu with many choices. But be aware, prices listed are not current, they were in the process of updating. Server rung up items and gave us receipt with current prices. We ordered the crispy Vietnamese egg roll, per server recommendation. I think out of all the things we ordered, this was our fave! It's one very large egg roll sliced and came with lettuce and fish sauce. Egg roll was hearty and flavorful. I dipped mine in a spicy chili sauce. Can't go wrong with this egg roll! Large bowl of round eye steak/ brisket pho- Good amount of meat, but broth was nothing special- bland ! Noodles stuck together and became very mushy. Normally side condiments include basil... no basil here, but cilantro instead. I would have also preferred more bean sprouts and jalapeños. Grilled pork banh mi- Boring! Minimal amount of grilled pork, thank goodness we ordered extra. Pork was nicely seasoned , but what makes up an authentic sandwich is the pickled vegetables. None to be seen in this sandwich. It consisted of mayo, a few thinly sliced cucumbers, cilantro, and one sliced jalapeño. $9.75 including the extra meat is not worth it. Sorry , but we've had better. Tonight is sooo cold and rainy. After we finished our workout and walked out of Planet Fitness I immediately knew I wanted some pho. Thankfully this place is right next door!! First time DINING IN! So I'd come here several times to eat in the last two years but they were always closed to dine-in (delivery only due to covid) so I'd either order to go or drive off. Food was consistently good in the past. I drove up today in hopes that I'd get to finally watch inside and HALLELUJAH! Open dining room. I walk in on this Friday afternoon and it's empty except for myself and my appetite and a worker who greets me from the register in back. There are two flat screen TVs mounted on the walls but just one is on. Daytime tv is on so I listen in on the Drew Barrymore Show. The worker brings me a large cup of cold water (no ice), a thick stack of napkins and a paper sack with silverware. I order the Vietnamese fried egg rolls as an appetizer and for the main entrée, I stick with my fave go-to grilled pork rice plate. I also order a Special Rice Plate for my son to enjoy at home. The food all comes together, but no biggie. I enjoy everything today. Temperatures, flavors are all what I expect them to be. Win!!! Happy I came in today. It squashed that nagging craving I've been having for WEEKS! If you read my reviews, you know how much I love my (authentic) Asian food. read more

I used to come here a lot with my family but haven't been by in a few years. We got dinner here yesterday and I was a little surprised at the menu. It seemed to be different than when we'd come before. My family isn't vegan but I am. I really like this place because they have vegan pho and they used to have soy milk where you could get boba drinks and teas made with it instead of dairy milk! Unfortunately we were told now that they were out of basically every tea and boba flavor they used to have. Also they only had milk and couldn't make me anything with soy milk. I did end up getting the tofu and vegetables vermicelli noodles and it was delicious!! I would like to see some vegan appetizers like some spring rolls without meat or fried tofu with sauce. The Pho and service is below address. The language barrier makes it tough for anyone, however the food shouldn't. The phone kept on ringing and would take forever for someone to answer so it was hard to have conversation with my guests. I did get a stomach bug later in the evening as well. Real Pho was the first Vietnamese restaurant I went to in San Antonio, and for that it will have a special place in my "food heart." It is located in a very spread out strip mall off of Potranco, so parking is a breeze. The interior is comfortable, no-frills, and large/open. The waitstaff greet you as you walk in and ask how many are dining and point/guide you to a table. Just like other what I call "legit" Vietnamese restaurants, it's family owned and operated which means you can typically see 2-3 generations of family members in the restaurant helping make it all run smoothly. The portion sizes and quality of the food are a solid A on a report card. Never have I ever had: a wilted green come out with my orders of pho, a bruised cucumber or old tomato with my com dishes, or an unclean table to dine at. Yay! The soup comes out pipping hot, the com and bun dishes come out with the meats being warm and the veggies cool, and the nuoc mum is room temperature. Exactly how it should be. read more
