I was in the Mission Superstore today and was so impressed by all the precautions they have taken. Thank you so much. The staff was great .

The feel is similar but more upscale than competing chain No Frills (owned by Loblaws). Pricing is quite reasonable overall. Of course, it is best to look for deals. The selection is fairly decent, but isn't the largest. But it's enough to get one going. Definitely worth checking out if one is passing through the area.

We had left a few fresh items out of our packing at home, and thought if might be fun to catch a look into one of these new in-the-area supermarkets. A first time peak for each of us. From what we saw -- and please note: my comments are based on a walkabout that was very quick, and very limited in scope -- it was big, bright, and rather decently laid out. We were there to really only catch a few items of produce and fruit, plus, a loaf of bread, hot dog buns, and such -- so really most of our activity was centered at one end of the store, leaving most of the store quite unseen. I believe we were both quite shocked at what we thought were rather high prices for the offerings within the produce and fruits section. There were a few items marked down as 'specials', but even those were not especially "special", when compared to what she and I find shopping elsewhere. We ended up only purchasing a couple of large, nice-looking yams (at a good price), a net-bag of several cooking onions, and a large, field cucumber (at just barely-ok prices), and brand-name bread & buns (on special, at rather decent prices). We 'passed' on other fresh produce, and fruit offerings of consideration before we entered, and checked them out for quality and pricing. I have now seen a little of what a 'FreshCo' supermarket has to offer. My first impression was not "wow, I'm impressed", or a very exciting shopping adventure. As previously stated though, the shopping was very brief, and selective, and I did not get to see much of the whole store, and what the several other unseen departments had to offer.

We come here to get meats (a lot of which are from Pemberton) and they are marinated in fun sauces so all you have to do is pop whatever it is you got into the oven. I also love their salmon cuts, they are so fresh, deboned and they don't have that nasty skin on them. I'll have to address Jacob L.'s review and say that I come here 2-3 times a month and have never had bad veggies or find the shelves empty. I must be lucky? Their produce section is awesome, I drive down here to get real bean sprouts and they have cute kits to make things like tom yum soup. Their salads and cut fruit are also great time savers and I've never had overripe or rotten pieces in what I've purchased. But I will say there are double sections of things that don't make sense. I am not sure if this is on purpose or if one aisle is organic, special etc. For example there are two tea and coffee sections. One is by the freezers the other is to the left of the store when you walk in. Why is this? I have no idea but their tea selection from their own brand is amazballs and I always stock up on at least 5 types of chai tea and whatever else is in season a the moment. The other Independent store in Whistler isn't as large and they frequently run out of the teas this store carries. The bakery is spot on awesome, we get our cakes from this location (they have more options than the one in Whistler) and they carry loads of different types of massive bags of naan. Their pre-made food section is also pretty impressive. If I were a tourist heading up to Whistler, stop here and get something! Their flat beads, pizzas, spicy wings, pastas, ready to pop in the oven lasagna, quiches, and stuffed peppers are all so good. They also have awesome Indian food, that Chicken Vindaloo they serve is pretty legit. Whistler is expensive for dinning, if you are in a vacation time share unit or know that you have a kitchen in your room, stock up here. #Squamish
