I like going to this H Mart because it is never too crowded and busy unlike the one in Burnaby. They now have a section for Daiso items which is pretty cool. They also have the typical food vendor inside, which is nice for to go meals or ones to take home and make. Sometimes you can find some really great deals. I want to warn anyone who doesn't speak Korean to be aware of shopping at HMart Langley. My wife and I had a really bad experience with multiple staff members there and felt like we were discriminated against for not being Korean. Even though we looked asian. It started with an older lady giving out food samples who kept speaking to my wife in Korean and pointing at her, even though my wife told her she doesn't speak Korean. It felt rude and like they didn't care about communicating properly. When we tried to talk to a girl in customer service about it, she simply said "So what?" When we asked if customers have to speak Korean to shop there, she sarcastically said "mm-hmm." That kind of attitude is just unacceptable. Then another staff member, who we think was named Jon, told us about a very unrelated experience of how people talk to him in Chinese in Richmond stores. This was totally not related to our complaint and felt like he just tried to release his anger of being treated disrespectfully towards another race at a store he works for. The store manager happened to be nearby when we were arguing. He tried to de-escalate the issue by offered to contact us later on to "apologize". He texted us the next day saying, "She (the older lady) thought you were Korean, so she told you in Korean. Actually, she is not able to speak English fluently." While this was a response, it didn't address any of the disrespecful attitude we experienced. After I sent a full complaint demanding to file an official complaint with the name of all three staff, the manager did not reply at all and just ghosted me. I don't think anyone deserves to be treated like this, and it made us feel really unwelcome at the store. If you're planning to shop here and you don't speak Korean, be aware of this kind of poor and disrespectful customer service. read more

My friend and I stopped here before calling to pick up some kbbq items and snacks. This location isn't too big but it has many of the essentials and decent selection of produce. We only grabbed one emoji mushroom but the cashier told us it was 2 for the price of one and let us grab another. There's lots of snacks, household items, deli items and a small food court. My favorite thing about this hmart that I haven't seen anywhere else is the roasted potato cart. The sweet potatoes were big and roasted to perfection. Love love love this!!! read more

This Korean grocer sells a lot of Asian products including vegetables that you don't always find at other Asian grocery stores. Sometimes their produce is much cheaper than other grocery stores. I recently bought 3 bunches of green onions for $1 which is more just for one bunch elsewhere. Their produce isn't too shabby and fairly decent looking. They have a good selection of goods & food items plus they also sell furniture (more Asian style) and housewares. Here you'll find everything you need for a hotpot dinner from food items to the hotpot itself. Located in the Westbrook Centre shopping plaza off the Fraser Hwy, there's plenty of free parking. I love H Mart! This is my go-to when I want some asian food fare. They have plenty of your asian grocery needs from fresh produce and aisles of noodles, frozen foods, sauces, seaweed, teas, seafood, a bakery and more. I love the Korean snacks and their Ready-to-eat packed foods. They have Bento boxes, Japchae, Korean banchan, Kimchi, and more. My favourite is their Korean Maki (Gimbap) - tuna or ham or burdock, cucumber, picked radish, carrots and tofu all wrapped up in rice and seaweed. They'll make it fresh for you if there isn't a version you like on the table too! Recently they opened up a fresh BBQ Chicken stall - they have a variety of choices from classic golden fried chicken to chicken ricebowls to honey garlic to secret sweet and more. It's self-serve and there are bag and covers for you to pack up you chicken to-go. Initially the BBQ Chicken came with skinny fries but when we came a few weeks after opening, they have stopped adding them - major sadface. We tried the Spicy Special Sauce Chicken and I was really hoping for something good but the chicken was dry inside and the outer coating was too thick. The sauce was good though. Overall, I don't think this will be a regular purchase. Check out the restuarant inside the H Mart as well - A Goong Yi (see my Yelp review too)! Definitely delicious and freshly made Korean food! I really like the extensive Asian (mainly Korean) grocery selection. However, this location is not as busy as Coquitlam's or Richmond's locations so I find this store has a smaller prepared food section. I bought a spicy pork bone soup package ($23.99) for dinner. It was enough food to feed two people. The package contained two potatoes, pork bone, red chilli peppers, jalapeño pepper slices, cabbage and a bag of soup. It tasted pretty good for a home meal. read more

Don't park on the bottom of the parking lot！!! I went shopping in H-Mart Lynwood and park my car in the parking lot while I was sitting in the car, suddenly a shopping cart sliding very fast from the top of the parking lot and crushed my car. I heard a very loud "Bomb". My car was damaged and dented. I went to the store and they refuse to acknowledge the fault and compensate for my loss. They didn't promise to take secure actions to remedy the situation either. Very Poor management!!!!!! They have no staff working outside and the shopping cart were scattered randomly in the parking lot. The parking lot is a slope, very uneven and not flat at all. For all the customers, try not to park your car on the bottom of the parking lot and be cautious when walking in the parking lot, especially when it's dark. I can't imagine what would happen if the cart hit a person!!!!!!! read more

This is my GO-TO store for my Asian ingredients. Located in Langley, this is a bigger store than the one in Downtown. They well pretty well stocked on the Korean delicacies and ingredients such as Seaweed, different types of Soy sauce, sesame oil. They also have a section of non Korean Asian stuff like Tamarind and curry. Obviously the selection is limited but it's good enough for my needs. They also have a deli, a bakery and a Korean-Chinese restaurant inside. read more

A terrible place for grocery shopping. Disregard the pricing, they don't care about customer satisfaction at all. Today, I spent 45 minutes in the line just for checking out around 2pm. There were more than 20 customers waiting for 2 mid-age cashiers moving in slow motions plus chatting with Korean speaking customers who walked by their stations during the processes. Great place to get Asian groceries but the last time my wife and I went there we got a major bad attitude from the cashier she was nasty because we didn't have our points card as we always give our phone number for it everytime we have gone there. This time she was being all uptight about it because she didn't want to do the phone number and told us we can only use the card now. She finally did her job and took our number and guess what it worked fine. Because of her bad attitude because she didn't want to do her job the 5 star rating I would like to have given as we really love the store, went down to a 1 star rating. I hear a TnT Superstore is coming Willowbrook mall and when it does We will not step foot in H Smart ever again because of this nasty cashier. We have shopped there ever since H Smart opened. We will be looking else where to shop till TnT opens. We are not Korean and feel this cashier was being racist towards us and this store and mall has had complaints about being racist to people in the past. A goong yi restaurant is inside HMart. They have lots of tables. We ordered the bulgogi hot plate, seafood tofu soup and beef rib soup. Food came out a bit slow but they came out really hot which is really good. Both soups came with stone pot rice. They also give you kimchi and radish. Price is reasonable. Lots of parking space. Food was good and i will come back again next time I'm in the area. read more
