There is no exterior clean out access so he went on the roof to run the camera down the vent pipe first . Snaking could possibly dislodge the clog but if it didn't I would still have to pay the same amount which I thought was somewhat unfair. The other option was to hi pressure water jet the pipe through the bathtub. I chose the jetting at a higher cost but more chances of clearing the obstruction and and a better long term cleanup of the pipe. I would recommend this plumber. I hate to spend money with plumbers but if necessary I'd recommend a long term fix than a short term repair.

It was already late in the day, but I found QP Plumbing and messaged them and they were able to have a plumber out early the next morning. Leo was the plumber who visited and he did a lot of troubleshooting: first with a plunger, then an auger, then removing the toilet to inspect the trap and the drain pipe. In the end, we determined that the toilet should be replaced because of its age, and Leo took care of buying a new toilet, installing it, and hauling the old one away. He recommended a toilet that's elongated and slightly higher, which was a great option for our elderly parents with reduced mobility. Leo also replaced the wax ring and flange bolts and caulked the new toilet well. He took the time to do the job right, and the price was quite reasonable.
