I would NOT RECOMMEND Oscar's Rooter service. If you are looking for an honest and efficient…read moreplumber, I would suggest you look elsewhere. We recently had plumbing problems again in December 2017. During a 1 week span we had Oscar come out to service our toilet/mainline pipes 3 times, which did not solve the problem. We had Oscar hydrojet our restroom on Wednesday thinking that it would solve the problem. For those who don't know, a hydrojet is supposed to destroy all or most of the roots if there is any in the drain/pipes by shooting high pressurized water which cuts like razors. Back in August 8, we also had the pipes hydro jetted, so after the second time within 4 months the pipes should have been clear of roots. When he came Wednesday he didn't have his camera, which was the same situation the first time he came back in August, so he was unable to locate the actual problem. Before he left he told us that he would come back with his camera the next day to do a free inspection since he did not have it both times. The next day, no phone calls about coming to do the inspection... He came back on Friday to unclog the drain/pipes by snaking it this time since the toilet was once again clogged. As he was pulling in the snake he was reassuring us that it can't be roots and as he reeled in his snake there was a bunch of roots stuck on the end. He told us that he didn't have his camera with him because it got "stolen" the day before. It seemed like he had an excuse every time he didn't have the camera. Besides that, we hydrojetted the pipes twice already and there was still roots in there. He assured us that he has ordered a "top of line" customized camera and that once he gets it he will come do a free inspection. On Saturday, the landlord reached out to Oscar and they discussed the situation. They agreed that we would wait until he gets his camera which would be the following Friday and he would take care of the toilet if it got clogged again. Sunday morning comes and once again the toilet is clogged. So, I call Oscar and tell him the problem and he informed me that he made an agreement with the landlord to take care of clogged toilet/pipes since we were waiting for him to get his camera. He came around 5 p.m. and snaked the drain. As he was leaving he told me it was going to be a $100 charge for his service. I was hesitant because it sounded like he was going to take care of us with no charge until he got his camera. He told me the landlord has agreed to paid for any services he had to do while WE WAITED for the camera. After I paid Oscar, I called the landlord and to confirm the agreement and specifics of it. That was when we both found out Oscar had lied about certain aspect of the agreement that was never agreed upon. The following day, before I called Oscar, I did my own research and called 4 different plumbers to ask about their hydro jetting services. They all informed me that they offer at least a 6 months warranty on their hydrojet since there isn't suppose to be any roots in the drain after you hydrojet it. I call Oscar afterwards and confront him about the lying of the agreement, the hydrojetting services, and that we didn't have to wait for his camera and we could go to any other plumber with a camera now to fix the problem. He tells me that the plumbers I called are lying about the warranty, but 4/5 plumbers, he was the only one who didn't have any warranty. Once I brought up that we could go to another plumber, he told us that he wouldn't charge us any more and he would take care of any problems for free since we were the one waiting. All of a sudden on the same day of the phone call, he stopped by with a CAMERA. The camera that he brought was really poor quality since it was blurry the whole entire inspection, but he tried justifying it by saying it was under water the whole time. As he is going through the drain he stops at what he believes is an offset in the pipes and says this is the cause. The image was blurry, so it was hard to see if that was an actual offset. We have made an appointment with a different Plumber and will update what the actual problem is afterwards.

Our first slab leak was 5 yrs ago on 12/31/2020. We fixed it for $1200 during COVID and decided…read morenot to do a whole-house repipe. At the time, Mike quoted $8000 for a PEX repipe. Then, in 2022, we had an in-wall pinhole leak, and I managed to fix the leak with a rubber pad and a hose clamp. Definitely did the trick! I also performed a couple of preventive fixes on those cooper green spots. It's an indication of a future pinhole leak. Knowing we were on borrowed time, on 1/8/26, 5yrs later, the formal living room carpet was soaking wet. That's the second slab leak and the 3rd leak. To repair or to repipe, that is the question....??? After speaking with Mike regarding our situation, Mike suggested it's really time to repipe. Only if we had done it 5yrs ago, I could have saved a lot more and not dealt with water damage. Sure, I can spend another $1500-$2000 on a repair, but my days are truly counting. I finally decided to pull the trigger, and I regretted why I didn't do it 5 yrs ago for $8k. Prices went up A LOT! Sigh..... I finalized the project with Mike on Tuesday, and Mike and Zara arranged the crew to come on Thursday. A team of 8 people quickly went to work. 4 Bathrooms + kitchen + Fridge + laundry room + laundry sink + 4 hose bibs were all completed in one day! (8:30 AM - 5:30 PM) The house looked like it had gone through WW III with so many random holes everywhere. I was wondering how they were able to restore the house to its original condition. Finally, after the city inspection was passed, the wall patch team came in. On day 1, only 2 guys came. They were courteous and did the best they could for 1 day. On day 2, an entire army of 8 came in and finished the drywall patching and texturing. All done. I could hardly tell the wall had been patched. Since whole house repiping is considered a part of construction, do expect some things to be broken here and there, or shower faucet installations could be done more professionally. All of my concerns raised with Mike were addressed and rectified by the foreman, Emmanuel, promptly. I was reassured that CARE Plumbing stood behind their workmanship and truly listened to and cared for customer satisfaction. The Mike and Zara team had my back every step of the way, and I'm sure they will treat your house like theirs as well.
