We'd dumped about all the Raid under the sun at them with no effect. We called to explain the situation and AAA recommended that, given our living arrangements, it would be more convenient and effective if we used different products to take care of the problem ourselves. About a year later now and I haven't seen a single roach since. These folks really have the customer's best interest at heart which I find rare in this day and age. I know I'll be going back to AAA should I have any future pest infestations.

Guess what, they showed up the next day WITH A SUPERVISOR, and proceeded to spray chemicals all around my house. They also put GLUE traps in my crawl space without asking and I never would have authorized that. I decided to cancel my contract AFTER that and called the company running the comcast-like gauntlet of 'what if we gave you this or that credit'. I declined and asked to cancel and they removed my credit card. I was not informed of any remaining balance. After that, they sent me a bill for the service that they once again screwed up. Keep in mind I paid full price to these guys for years just to have the rat boxes done so I was grossly overpaying and they got way more out of me than they put in. I called them to dispute the bill, they said they would call me back after running up the chain. They didn't. Instead they insist I owe them money for a SERVICE THEY CONTINUALLY SCREWED UP. They are an extraordinarily incompetent company that can't follow simple instructions.

In related news, I later found out that asking adding a surcharge for debit transactions is actually illegal per U.S. Federal law. Good to know. They can charge up to 3% for credit cards. Nevertheless, the good folks are the office were very nice about reversing the double-charge. I am waiting to see when it comes through. Pro's - Basic work seemed to be done well and at a price that was competitive with others I contacted at least for the basic service. - Communication was prompt. - After some re-scheduling on their part, the team did the work swiftly and efficiently. - Most of the terms were clear in advance, using Yelp Projects. Con's - This is a fairly shiesty corner of the home maintenance world. Many providers seem to give you a low-ball estimate to get in the door and then upsell significantly. - Envirosmart is not an exception. - The initial quote was $200. This included scoping the ducts and doing the negative pressure clean-out. - Onsite, they then upsold me to $670 for a more thorough brushing of the vents, sanitation, and some other ancillary services. - They were only modestly well-organized. They called the day-of to reschedule because of a conflict with internal training. They also confirmed a different time than I had originally scheduled. It was the difference of a 9 to 11am original window and a 2:30-3pm arrival. - The Yelp Project communication could have been clearer. They did not specify whether they were calling to quote me or coming to do the service! Amid all this and with some clarification and flexibility on our part, we worked it out. I would have appreciated either a discount or additional service for the delay. None was proffered. I did not go ahead with the upsell as I had already gotten quotes for less from other providers with somewhat more transparent pricing. I think the work they did appeared fine. See attached pics. Your guess is as good as mine which are before and which are after! They did not specify when they sent them to me and email took off the timestamp. I'm hoping the cleaner ones. I probably will try another service when I do this again and with a higher rated provider. All in all, though, I had low expectations and those low expectations were met.

I obtained estimates from three different companies to perform a couple of insulation jobs that…read morerequired accessing some very tight areas to perform the work. This included improving the insulation around a skylight well located in the narrow space at the the edge of our attic. Rory provided a competitive price quote with some additional work such as properly terminating our kitchen range hood duct through the roof, replacing a cheesy flexible dryer duct in the attic which was accumulating lint and becoming a fire hazard, and improving the insulation on our attic access cover. The job was quickly scheduled and accomplished. Rafael and Louis were extremely courteous and completed high-quality installations under difficult conditions. Among other things, they really improved the insulation around the skylight well. This has significantly cut down on the heat which had been blasting though from the attic space during the summer due to a lousy installation years back when the house was built. Bottom line, these are the type of jobs, companies and people that I enjoy posting reviews about. I only wish we had done it sooner.
