We accidentally cut a few wires at the back of a covered outlet, so we called requesting assistance in reconnecting. We were quoted $550 for the rewiring, but upon arrival, the wires were tested and they were not energized and showed no voltage. No rewiring needed, but we were still charged $495. No qualms with the work quality or service, just wish the diagnostic/service-call pricing was made clearer up front.

My…read moreusual electrical company, Blue Electrical Contractors, was super busy so I decided to try Nextdoor based on their Yelp reviews. I had them take down an old outdoor ceiling fan from my back porch and install two new ceiling lights: one in the same spot as the ceiling fan and the other over the seating area to provide more light (see photo). The job cost $572 which I thought was a little bit high, but I wanted the work done. Two big issues with the job: First of all, the technician didn't install the round ceiling light insulation discs in each fixture (see photo) which is to my understanding required to meet Underwriters Laboratory requirements. (The insulation is used to reflect heat from incandescent bulbs.) He also cracked one of the plastic conduit hangers so that it was actually broke. I found the insulation thrown in the garbage and had to dig them back out and have the technician come back to put them in and replace the broken hanger. Also, wasn't really keen on the fact that he used plastic hangers vs. metal to hang the conduit. Another issue was that I wanted a multi-outlet switch in my garage changed out to a standard outlet; see photo. Nextdoor quoted me $187 to change it out. Caido, from Blue Electrical Contractors stopped by and I had him look at it. It was only a cover; Caido unscrewed one screw and the regular outlet was underneath. I could have done it had I known this. It took Caid 5 seconds to take the multi-outlet cover off and he didn't charge me a thing. Okay. This is ridiculous! $187??!! This shows me the technician from Nextdoor Electric didn't even know what he was quoting. I was speaking to Caido from Blue Electric about Nextdoor and how I will never use them again, but can't understand their great reviews. Caido was telling me that Nextdoor's reviews could be fake and/or purchased. I really am questioning these reviews. I will never have them do any work for me again. Go with Blue Electric the next time you need electrical work; I have used them for years.

BEWARE of this company they will try and scam you! Got a quote for $1,600 to replace 350 ft of…read morewire. They said it was for safety and regulation reasons. I was suspicious and was shocked because the issue did not seem that extreme. Started calling other electricians to get their opinion and they both said it was unnecessary and to instead simply splice the bad wire right at the box, easy fix shouldn't be more than $100 total for parts and labor! I called back and JNL said they could do it for $428. Wait I thought we HAD TO DO the $1,600 job because of "safety and regulations". I told the lady I would be going with another electrician. She sounded irritated with me and ended the call. Then I got an invoice for $250. Do not believe their website when they say they offer free quotes this is a lie. Please stay away from this shady company, get another opinion or consultation somewhere else. So sad how careful you have to be these days to not get scammed...

He identified and repaired an issue with the dusk-to-dawn mechanism as well as some issues with other security lights. Kim was a great resource in helping to review the best and most cost effective way to purchase the generator and how the whole process would evolve. Unlike other providers, they are straightforward and do not offer a bunch of other unnecessary add ons. Their goal was to provide a quality and cost effective finished product. Parco staff call you or text you back promptly responding to a question or request. When they made a commitment to schedule the installation, they stood by it. They explain what they are going to accomplish and why they are doing it that way. Aaron and his crew showed up on time and the installation was complete in about 4.5 hours. They do not take shortcuts and use high quality materials. Parco and the subcontractors were very professional and helpful. Even more important they have a rock solid maintenance and emergency response plan following the installation. Aaron and Wayne arrived on time and worked hard all day to install two lanterns and six can lights. To install the lanterns, they had to cut through drywall and brick to run electrical cable from the attic. Despite all the work to install the lights (on a hot November afternoon, none the less!), they left without a mess, and even swept and mopped the area they were working. Aaron and Wayne were courteous and professional all day - I truly enjoyed them working in the house! We most certainly will have them back out! In fact, we've already booked them for another project!
