But nothing really stood out enough for us to want to buy bottles to-go. But wine was better than Bread & Butter and Judd's Hill. We were given some dark chocolate truffles to pair with our wines. Loved this winery and our interaction with Mr Razi. Given the fires there weren't any other customers so we had plenty of time to enjoy the wine and ask questions. He was very generous with the pours which had us all feeling the effects as we got back on the bus. This winery had the most bottles purchased by our group. This is what wine tasting before it was popular must have been like - having the namesake business owner patiently pour you wine while enjoying the vineyard. Stopped by as part of a small and purposeful wine tour. Note: our understanding is that Razi is a reservation-based tasting room. The tour guide had saved Razi as our last stop. Upon arriving on the property you notice how intimate the setting is - you'll park right next to a small garden where they're growing eggplant, bell peppers, lettuce, and of course the vines. The tasting room is very tasteful and not anything like any of the industrial vineyards you might run into. Mr. Razi did a fantastic job of talking us through what we were tasting. He was genuinely interested in ensuring we enjoyed the wine and our experience at his property. Needless to say I think the quality of the wine and approach paid off - we ended up purchasing several bottles and added Razi to our short list of go-to vineyards in Napa. A friend and I went to a blending class across the street, we weren't all that impressed with the wines at the blending class so afterwards we wanted something different. Walked across the street and were greeted by Fred Razi, the owner of Razi Winery. What a knowledgeable and friendly guy. He didn't pour tastings - he poured large glasses of wine. We sat at the bar drinking wine and talking with Fred for about an hour. He let us look around the cellar too! I was so impressed with how well the tasting room was put together. Then we find out that the sculpture on the counter behind the bar was actually a piece that Fred made while in school. Came to Razi's through Platypus WIne Tour, and I have to say that out of all the wineries we visited, I enjoyed everything that Fred poured for us. EVERYTHING. At the other stops, I would find maybe one or two that I really enjoyed. Found out about Razi Winery through our tour with Platypus. Out of all the wineries we visited with them, Razi was by far our favorite. The tasting room was small and intimate, with amazing views of the vineyard. Fred Razi was an amazing host. He was kind, welcoming, and loved sharing his passion of wine making. Awesome service and amazing wines. We came here at the end of our wine tour through Platypus. I kind of felt bad as the 7 couples on this tour all opted to share tastings...we had just come from 3 other tastings/drinking for 7 hours earlier in the day. We were pretty much wined out. As we tried each of the wines though, things quickly turned around. All of the wines were delicious...you could sense that they really took the time to produce high quality wines with great flavor. The owner, who was pouring, was also super friendly/accommodating which added to the overall experience. We ended up leaving the place with 3 more bottles to add to our collection. I came here as part of Platypus Wine Tours. I am very happy that I got an opportunity to check out Razi. Razi is really what makes Napa so special. This winery is about as hole in the wall as it gets. The wine bar is attached to the owner's house and itself seats about 8 people. You can only get here with an appointment but it is well worth the effort. Admittedly, I was wine-ed out by the time I got to Razi's. I had been to 16 different winery's/wine bars... so I probably didn't enjoy every since offering Razi had to offer. In spite of this, their Red Blend was probably one of the best wines I had during the whole trip. I liked a lot of the wines I had to taste, but the fiancé and I were hitting the limits of our budget so we only got two bottles of the Red Blend. Truly one of the best. Mr. Razi takes pride in his craft, and you can taste it. One of the best Zinfandels and Cabernets for the price I've had in quite some time. His hospitality was felt amongst our whole party. As he tells you stories of his beautiful winery and the creations of his wines, you feel as though you are among friends, with generous pours and truffles to finish. Razi is officially our go to place to start off each trip to Napa. You just can't beat sipping a killer Chardonnay with the view of the sun on the vineyard. Chatting and Laughing with Fred affirms you're in the right place mentally and it's going to be a great trip. Next time, we're bringing a car with a bigger trunk though. Fred answered my call about ten minutes before closing but told us to come on in so we pulled in and parked and walked into the nice chill tasting room which abuts the vineyards where their Chardonnay vines grow. He was super awesome and we all took our time tasting each of the wines he poured. It's a bit rare to find a small, homey winery in Napa, but Razi fits the bill. Fred is soooo nice and has owned the winery for almost 2 decades. His wine is great and you can bet he'll be pouring your wine. Call beforehand to make an appointment, but we called at 2:00pm on a Saturday in February and we were able to taste at 3:30. Might not always be the same experience if it's busy in Napa, but if he can take your group, it's awesome. He only takes 1 party at a time but this was just my wife and I and it was great. Honestly don't know how much the tasting is but we bought 5 different bottles and weren't charged for a tasting. Also joined the wine club and it's super flexible. He'll send you an email and you can opt out of the order all together or pick and choose what you want. Overall, if you're ready for an intimate, chill place, Razi is your place. The name got our attention and we decided to check it out. I am so glad we did, that was the best part of our wine tasting and outing for the day. Fred Razi, the owner greets & welcome you making you feel right at home. He is a classy knowledgable man and don't mind sharing his knowledge and information with you. His wines both the Chardonnay and the exclusive mixed red wine were exquisite. He pure you a generous portion and allow you enjoying his beautiful tasting room with great views. I was trying to hit some smaller wineries that I'd never been to before on this trip, and I stumbled upon Razi. I called from his driveway and made an appt on the spot (I was just a party of 1). Cute, small tasting room, with wines poured by Mr. Razi, the winemaker. The wines were INCREDIBLE. Just my style, fruit-forward and smooth/round. Big fruit but not too sweet. Just perfect. I ended up joining the wine club, which I never do. He didn't ask or pressure me in any way. He was so laid back. I just wanted all of his wines, which never happens. I'm a bit of a wine snob. I made a booking to the winery the previous day and they told me the only time they had available was 2pm. When we arrived, we were told there must have been a misunderstanding because it was full. The wine tasting is literally just sitting at a bar and trying the wine without much explanation. We were told to sit outside as there was no space inside, it is 95 degres today. We tried two white chardonnays that were not great. Very disappointed after seeing all the good reviews for this winery. read more

What an intimate experience! Just visited with my family. We had a short day in Napa to taste, and after going to a large winery wanted to taste at a smaller vineyard before they all closed. Without a reservation it's difficult, but we called Razi and Fred asked us to give him 15 minutes. When we showed up he was just finishing with a small tour bus of at least 15 people. He cleaned up quickly, and even though it was after 4pm he gave us an intimate tasting experience. The Razi wines aren't bold, and work for people looking for a refreshing genre. I went here with the Platypus Wine Tour. It was stop #2 and by far the best. I bought a bottle for myself and a bottle for a friend. I ended up keeping both of them. In retrospect I should have bought like 10 bottles from this place and none from the rest. I had the first bottle to celebrate an anniversary and I'm saving the other for another special occasion. Highly recommended. You should plan for a designated driver or taxi in order to truly appreciate this place. read more

Outstanding wine and barrell tasting. Whites and reds to include the Razi Chardonnay and Burly Cab were fantastic. Barrell tasting took us to some 2006-2008 cabs that will provide an excellent wine tasting experience. The young man from UC Davis who served us was professional, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic about what he was doing. Every wine was spectacular. We did several wineries over our trip and this was the only one where each wine was fantastic, especially the cab and the Bordeaux blends (Fred is tasting his 2006, which is an absolute steal at the very reasonable price). This was my very first time experiencing Napa and wine tasting. Out of all the wineries we went to, this was my absolute favorite. The owner is friendly and has his own history to tell about how he got started making his own wine. This was not like any other wine tasting that we had gone to. Believe me, we went to many during our time in Napa. Razi wine is delicious. And yes, as Teresa J mentioned, he pours you a full glass of wine. He shares delicious cheese and fruit with you and makes you feel like you are royalty. treatment.
