Since it's been a year, let's update. This is still the best sushi in the south. Stopped on today and ask chef Shane to just prepare me some sashimi. So pretty and good

The absolute best sushi there is! Quality ingredients. Wonderful service. Every menu item is unique and packed with flavor! Start with some sushi but be sure to get the Brussels and smash burger too! You will be back!

Had a big group order that Rayzas was able to accommodate. Really friendly staff and great service. Employees were helpful and food was very good. I got the salmon bowl and it was delicious. Would highly recommend

Go to spot when I'm in town! Fresh fish, great service! I will continue to come back!

California Roll and the Old Fashion

My wife and I wanted to try something a little different than our usual Friday night dinner spots. Rayza's was recommended and it didn't disappoint. My wife enjoyed the blueberry mule and the Old fashioned was great. We enjoyed the California roll and tasted fresh. We had the chef specials that night and was fantastic. Service was great so if you are reading this and enjoy sushi and drinks, Rayza's didn't disappoint

Absolutely amazing! Been here a couple of times and the food is absolutely amazing! The sushi is great and the beef bulgogi is to die for!

Food was outstanding. The spicy tuna roll was made with sliced tuna not chopped scraps. The dry aged Ora King salmon with chimichuri and squid ink crispy tapioca was a special and very nicely executed. Red curry shrimp and grits was intensely flavored and a nice twist on the usual. Reheated well the next day as we had that and some of the corn dip to carry home. All in all a great experience.

Food is very good. I can see them expanding one day into a bigger building. We will definitely go back soon.

However, were we're very pleasantly surprised to find that the new ownership, a Jamaican woman is also gluten free and fully intends to expand GF options to include GF onion rings on the appetizer list. She is currently deciding which menu items will be replaced with more requested items. The new owner is a friendly, warm person with a feel for greeting and making diners feel welcome. We were greatly relieved that she has great Jamaican recipes that will add to the otherwise seafood specialties. My wife has been GF for several years and has been unable to enjoy most fried foods including seafood due to wheat flour. However, we were able to enjoy a wonderful GF fried seafood platter and only the hush puppies were not GF. We also had the delicious crab bisque that is also GF. I am fortunate to NOT be allergic to anything so I was treated to a delicious chocolate truffle that is absolutely the best. This delicacy will soon be available GF. If you are looking for a coastal restaurant with GF options in the Mobile or Daphne causeway area, you should try the Elite Pierhouse restaurant. You won't be dissatisfied. Great food, spectacular views and really good service with moderate prices. Not fast food, but really great southern seafood with Jamaican flare.

Upon arriving we noticed the big parking lot, good location, and when we walked in we were greeted immediately. Inside was nicely decorated, dimly lit, and clean. We promptly got sat on a Sunday afternoon, and quickly got served water, got our drink orders, and food orders put in. The brunch menu is from 12-3, with mimosas and bloody Maria's. The bloody was really nice - could tell it had tequila! Old fashion was nice not overly Smokey. Onto the food, the tamales were some of the best I've had. They were HUGE. They came with birria, great consume, flavorful poblano rice, delicious poblano and corn cream (something of that nature) was so creamy and was GREAT. I couldn't believe how hot and fresh everything was. It was some of the best Mexican I've had. My husband enjoyed his chicken as well - it was tender and juicy, good char on the pineapple too. The portions were huge and we didn't eat it all. Good thing we didn't, the chef gave us complimentary dessert (ice cream because we're gluten free)! It was our first time and we'd love to go back. Everything looked and sounded great. Good margarita options, the flight was ordered by the table next to us! The overall cost for us two, although not the worst, but definitely not a cheap brunch was $110 with tip. Hot sauce was $2.50 on the side. A nice treat with friendly staff and good food, but not if you're looking to save some money.

Other subsequent customers had to wait as well. The place is very dark inside with the theme of a jungle of plastic plants hanging overhead. There appeared to be a few real plants, but it was too dark to confirm that. The food is tasty, but overpriced for what you get. We had the feeling the money is being spent on the decor or the lease on the building rather than the food. The potential is there for a better deal without the hype. It's a "been there done that " place for me.

The ambiance is nice and cozy. But we always sat in a booth. Sitting at a table indoors next to the back door, I looked around in confusion. At first it felt like someone kicking the back of the seat like on a flight. But then I was trying to move the table and check the chairs, maybe it was an earthquake from the New Madrid fault line. But like a typical NOLA raised home, it was just a hard floor and heavy footsteps. I'll know better next time. But Sundays from 12-3pm is the time to be there. Having to wait for parking was about the hardest part.

Our waitress friendly and bubbly was there quickly to take our drink order. She checked on us frequenly. We started with the Boudreaux's egg rolls, they were awesome great texture crispy outside and soft avacado inside with a lot of flavor and great dipping sauce. Next I had the shrimp creole, with a substitute of side for gumbo. Both were very tasty and prepared perfectly, she had the black and bleu salad, the steak was very tasty and bleu cheese, well its bleu cheese and good bleu cheese. Last, we ordered an order of beignet's they were pretty good, a little on the heavy / dense side. The place was a little on the quiet side tonight despite the dining area being pretty full. One thing worth noting, we have noticed on our last two visits here the servers not clearing plates from the table when a persons is obviously finished eating either by the plate being pushed to the side or the universal silverware placement indicating, I am done eating. This time I had to ask her to clear the table before she brought anything else to the table. She was happy to do it, so maybe this timely removal of plates is not obvious, nor has it been explained/ taught by anyone. Service is important, this falls under the basics, if you are headed to the kitchen, do not go empty handed. Just a thought to improve the level of service. We will return.
