Went to Rays for the first time for dinner yesterday. I'm visiting my brother here from Nevada. First off, the waiter Charlie was great! Attentive, friendly and expedient. Secondly, they brought out the most delicious warm sourdough bread with olive oil and balsamic dipping sauce. Next came our appetizer, Crab Cakes! Highly recommend this App, crispy not soggy! Delicious blend as well! Then I had the Seafood Linguine, which was good but not the best I've had. It says Creamy Garlic sauce but I hardly tasted any garlic. And it needed a splash of white wine. My brother had the Miso Sablefish- it's was great but it says broiled. I didn't see or taste any broil? I have eaten all over the world in many top rated restaurants. This one is worth stopping in and gave a nice dinner with great service and a beautiful view!

Rays was recommended to us by a local fishing guide and we really enjoyed our experience. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We got sat at a table next to a window by the marina which was great.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]We even got to see otters coming and going.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We split the crab leg lunch special with broccolini and rice and it was good. Crab might have been a little over cooked but was still enjoyable. Service was attentive and we didn't have to wait to get a table during lunch.

This was probably my favorite meal in Seward. We started with crab cakes which were amazing, I like when there's chunks of veggies in it and it was fried perfectly. The halibut andaman was so good, the crust with macadamias was still crunchy and the curry sauce it's served in was nice to warm us up after a chilly day. The service was great, we basically got what the waiter recommended. My friend got the seafood pasta which she also enjoyed. Definitely recommend this to everyone going to Seward! Just a heads up, there's a wait esp if there are cruise ships in the port, so plan accordingly! [[HIGHLIGHT]]But there are also a lot of shops to walk around and kill time, not to mention the views are incredible to just soak up.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

What an adorable waterfront restaurant! We had seafood chowder, fresh oysters and miso cod dish. Everything was amazing! I have to say portions are not very large but we were still very satisfied in the end.

Recommend here for lunch, so we stopped by after one of our tours. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Located right on the water, it's a beautiful place to have a meal - large windows allow you to enjoy the view.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Crab cakes were tasted fresh and flavorful, decent-sized. Good drink selection. Enjoyed my French 75. Our waiter was friendly and efficient. Food was definitely pricey, probably because they're a cruise ship stop. So keep that in mind. Overall, it was a good dining experience. As long as you're prepared for the higher price, it's a good stop.

Great food and service! I ordered the Ribeye steak. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Great atmosphere and the view of the marina is nice.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] One of our favorite places to eat when we drive to Seward from Anchorage

We stopped for lunch at Ray's on the Seward waterfront area. [[HIGHLIGHT]]A very busy restaurant with great harbor views- we were seated in a great spot, overlooking the docks[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. I ordered the salmon tacos (3) which came with pickled onions, feta cheese, jalapeños and a mango salsa. Spicy but not overwhelming. The salmon was quite tender. My husband ordered a hamburger and fries which he said was good. For dessert, we split a piece of key lime coconut pie, which was naked (came without whipped cream) which honestly, rivaled a pie from Florida. Very tasty. The restrooms were heavily used but kept up. All in all, I'd recommend them.

This place is GREAT. After a long day on the water, we stopped in for some clams and fish and chips. They also made us a tasty Paloma. It seems unassuming from the outside but GO IN! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Chefs kiss is the lovely view of the bay.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Wow !! A great meal on the waterfront in Seward .The employees were awesome. Friendly ,efficient and accommodating...We loved talking with them about their lives in Alaska . [[HIGHLIGHT]]Definitely dinner with a view on the marina looking out at the ocean and mountains.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]So glad we choose Rays for our dinner of halibut and king crab legs. Delicious

The food is amazing, the fish is fresh. Came back to back days, the black cod was amazing, savory and had an asian kind of sauce. The crab was also amazing, so fresh, broke apart in one piece every time. The severs are also great people, really friendly, ask for Mike. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The art work is pretty, and the stuffed fish on the wall is awesome![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

After the buzz snuck in, I got the 6-piece "bucket of butt" since I don't have any friends to share the 10-piece with. Perfect texture and crispiness, with tartar and lemon. GF is an extra bonus. The slaw had a wonderful flavor, but it clearly was the prep cook's first time holding a knife. They just went after that poor cabbage like it had betrayed an ancient bloodline. Overall, incredible experience, but I was very disappointed that there were no flamingos anywhere to be found. I told the taxi driver that I was at "The Lounge" because of this oversight. I absolutely loved the gluten-free coating on the halibut since I'm not a fan of tempura-style batter. The Tanner crab was amazing, and the fried pickles were also great, though the portion was huge (definitely too much for one person). Service was excellent both nights. The bartenders were really friendly, and the food came out quickly and smoothly. The interior is also super cute, kind of an old-school lounge vibe with lots of velvet. There's a neon sign that says "city where the fun shines," which adds to the fun atmosphere. Such a great dinner spot in Seward.

My wife and I both love Halibut and were looking to try some fresh caught, while our cruise ship was docked in Seward. We strolled up town a couple of blocks from the Alaskan Sea-life Center and saw that Gold Rush Bistro had some on their lunch menu and decided to stop in. Surprisingly there was no wait at 12:30 (lunch time) their smiling staff were happy to see us. We were greeted, seated and able to order very quickly. That being said, the place started to fill up pretty fast. As we waited, the lady that was sitting next to us when we sat down, had a god awful amount of perfume on, after a few minutes of choking, we politely as to be moved to another table and were happily accommodated, no hassle at all. I've had Halibut many times in the past, but none have been as delicious as the Garlic Halibut that they serve here. One word, OUTSTANDING!!! The decor inside was beautiful, with a homey wood vibe (see pics). Looking out the front window there was an amazing view of some of the surrounding Mountains. If you find yourself in Seward and are a little tired of the food on your cruise or just happen to be in town for another reason, I would highly recommend Gold Rush Bistro.

Today I remembered to do all the things including take pictures of my food. I walked in and was seated immediately, I chose to sit at the bar because it's just easier and the chairs all have better cushion. After seeing another patron eating a burger i decided to order one too! Great choice. I had the jalapeño burger with bacon jam and man was it delicious. The burger was a perfect medium well, the brioche bun was perfectly toasted, the white cheddar cheese was the perfect complement to the slightly sweet bacon jam, the bacon was crispy, Smokey and not greasy. The only complaint was the slice of tomato that is out of season and tasteless. I mean it is Alaska after all. My seafood chowder which I paid an additional $4.00 for a cup was okay but whatever, the burger made up for it. All in all it was a great experience and delicious meal.
