I have eaten at Ray's many times. The food is excellent the people are friendly. Definitely a plus dining out experiences.

Came here for some quick food, knowing nothing about the place. It was pretty busy, but found a seat quickly, and was served just as fast. The staff was very friendly and courteous. Ordered a burger and a beer. Beer was served in frosted mug (awesome), and burger came out quickly. Fries were hot and tasty, great fresh bun on the burger, good homemade pickles. LUCKY FIND on a cold night camping at Four Mile State Park. This is an old school "locals" kind of dive pub with a casual "no one is a stranger" atmosphere. Local breweries on tap. And you definitely won't regret the mouth watering burgers and fries! read more

As someone stated the burgers are great, but this is the place to get the absolute best wings. I no longer live in the area and Ray's wings are what I miss the most. Last time I was near their I went for some wings. Unfortunately for me it was a Friday Night and because they do such a huge fish fry business on Fridays they don't offer the wings. I came back the next day and ate my belly full of awesome wings. Great blue Cheese too! If you are within a hundred miles of Ray's go their if you like wings. Forget about the Anchor Bar and all the other tourist traps that sell "Buffalo Wings" in the Buffalo area. Take a drive and go see historic Lewiston, Youngstown and Old Fort Niagara. While there follow Lake Rd until you see a dive looking place on the right with a full parking lot and get ready to enjoy an awesome meal. Try the wings, trust me! read more

6 friends tried Rays on Clinton on Friday. We chose the buffet for dinner. They had fantail shrimp, polish sausage, stuffed cabbage rolls, baked chicken, real mashed potatoes, carrots, lazy pierogies, cheese pierogies, french fries, corn, homemade macaroni, potato and slaw salad, chef salad, rolls, 2 soups & 2 deserts. We filled our plates again and again. Cooks like mom! Best food in a long time. First Friday of the month they remove the stuffed cabbage rolls and replace with breaded pork chops (Polish style) and potato pancakes. Gotta try it! read more

Me and my girlfriend went into rays today. We were seated by the owner and waited 25 minutes with not even a server coming up to us. (This is while there was three serves and a total amount of 3 tables in the whole place occcupied) after I was fed up with watching them look at us, count their tips, and refill tarter sauce we started to leave. As we left a server asked us if we were sitting there...I went to complain to the owner and all the servers had time to come over a shoot me dirty looks while i did. We will never go back and will be letting our family and friends know the same. read more

Probably the best Hamburger you'll ever eat! The Beef on Weck is known far and wide. The chicken wings are fat, juicey & crispy. But by far the best meal to me is the Hot Roast Beef Sandwich - on italian bread, rich brown gravy, tender beef. We had a group of us for dinner & this is what everyone said about their order. It was clearly a restaurant where the locals eat, but we talked to people that drove about 20 miles to eat here. Great prices. Cold beer. read more

I've traveled the USA on the Grateful Dead tour, and rarely do you find a place, like you see on the food networks,",Diners,Drive-ins, and Dives" ! Well here they are,but not a dive,and not a drive in or diner,but with all the comfort food you could ask for,and more. Rays is my go to for Fish Fry's, when another place I've reviewed ( they're only open June-Sept) is closed for the season,but even then,Rays is the place in Youngstown to have your Fish,battered,broiled,or breaded with the captains platter. It's always moist,and my choice is beer battered,the best beer battered around,imho! This comes with a pile of home cut fries( full disclosure, I worked here in 1988, and the old fashioned potato cutter is still doing them proud) or your choice of potato,the best coleslaw ever, rolls and butter and even corn bread " bites " ; they have tasty house soups to warm you up, and wait staff that is ready ,willing and just like your own family! I also recommend chicken and biscuits, with mashed potatos, known to many as " chicken ala king" on Sundays. That, or a hot roast beef sandwich with mashed potatoes and a side of gravy or a big order of chicken fingers with those home cut fries will fill you up. They have homemade desserts, and my favorite, lemon meringue ; when they have it goes FAST, so ask or TELL your server asap! With ice cold beer on tap, a separate dining room from the full bar area, and lotto games to keep you busy, 'cause they can get busy! Unfriendly staff...we were not greeted for over 10 minutes while several staff members walked past us without saying hello and I believe it was the owner who finally seated us, who also was NOT friendly. The waitress took our order and never asked about drinks. We asked for water after she brought over the soup and salad and it was never brought back. Reminded her and she left only to bring drinks to the table next to us. We noticed the staff seemed to be more friendly to the "regulars" that were there for dinner...drinks were brought over immediately to those people. The dinner salad, which was paid for separately since they would not substitute, was 3.50 and it was about 15 small pieces of iceberg lettuce with a slice of tomato. We ordered fish, baked and breaded. The baked came out in small chunks (as opposed to a filet) sitting in juice. The breaded was in one large filet, but did not taste fresh. There were two small dinner rolls and 2 small pieces of cornbread, about the size of a large crouton. No butter. When the dinner was brought out, we asked for butter for the baked potato and the waitress said "It is in your bread basket"...we said that we never got any, so she took the empty basket and brought back some packaged butter...never asked if we would like more bread. We never received our water until dinner was half over. I would never go here again. The meal was 30 dollars for two fish dinners and extra for salad plus one cup of soup. The slaw was terrible, swimming in dressing, it was more like soup. read more
