The only negative thing I can say about this place is that it is SO LOUD on nights when they are having events (the music bingo, for example) that you have to shout to have conversation. I'm celiac, and they clearly know their shit, because I have eaten there a dozen times and never had a reaction. I usually get the Mini Kuz, and because they have a GF frier, FRENCH FRIES. Burgers are big, juicy, cooked perfectly and if they weren't big bombs of fat and cheese I would eat them every day. Service has been good when we eat there, and the wait staff is super friendly and helpful. Overall I recommend, but maybe keep an eye on your arteries. I had been wanting to go for Sunday brunch (9am - 11:45am) and was finally able to make it in! I love the old historic town hall building that it is in. They have a small bar area (with prosecco on tap) as well as a dining room area. I was greeted and seated right away while I waited for my friends. As I was waiting, I was contemplating between two dishes, the Cuban Omelette and Da Big Stooge. I ended up getting Da Big Stooge, which was no joke! Like 4 meals worth of food for me for $19.99. It came on a large silver platter with 2 pancakes, 2 French toast, home fries, 2 sausage patties, 2 slices of bacon, 2 pieces of polish sausage (they were out, so I got double sausage), 2 pieces of ham and toast! I was disappointed they didn't have the polish sausage and wasn't a huge fan of the home fries; they were just the potatoes (no peppers or onions) and I believe they par cooked them then deep fried them to order because some pieces were basically rock hard... Unforkable! Everything else was quite delicious, especially the sausage patties, which are from a local butcher, Scapelitti's. One of my friends is gluten free and got a breakfast sandwich. She said the roll was really good and did not fall apart or crumble. She too had a "forking" issue with her home fries. The waitress was very friendly and was sure to tell us when something was an upcharge (gf roll) and also to let us know that there was a 3% charge to pay with a credit card (it also does state this on the menu). Stopped in at Stooges in Lockport and was pleasantly surprised! I ordered The Larry with sweet honey glazed fries, and my husband went with the Big Mac burger. Let me just say -- The Larry was oozing with flavor and cooked to perfection. Every bite was juicy and satisfying, exactly what I was craving. The fries were a little on the harder side than I prefer, but the honey glaze gave them a unique and tasty twist that made up for it. Amazing, this was the best burger joint I've ever been to. To start off, the best ladies behind the bar and the hardest workers were Keira and Abby. They were a great accomplishment to the experience and it would be one of the things to get me to return. I'm not a big seller on 5 star places but this is definitely the 5 star restaurant. The place is rustic with a modern touch and the walls and decor are great to look at. I would highly recommend that if you take any Lockport tour, make sure to bring your receipt to get a discount on the food, 15%. I had the Stinger burger which was very tasty if you like blue cheese. The burger had a great buffalo spices with a few boneless chicken wings. It was more than I could eat but it was delicious. I would have sent the fries back since I really like HOT fries but these were ok, they were just an accompaniment to the burger so it was ok. I spent a lot on a lunch that would have gotten me a good prime rib and soup & salad bar at the Fieldstone. We'll never go there again. Service was so-so, rather desultory in its delivery. The atmosphere was okay, but once you entered the building you had to go up 10 steps to get to the main dining area. The bathrooms are located downstairs, where I did not go, so I don't know how many steps down it was. Also, you had to climb five shallow steps outside just to get into the building. Not for the handicapped or faint of heart. Nice selection of indie brewery IPAs available. I'll never forget while I was living overseas and watching an episode of some crime show years ago when I saw someone "running through the caves" in Lockport, NY. The bad guy was on the loose and our crime show heroes were going to stop him. Just seeing Lockport, NY on the screen made me squeal, "I used to live near there!" I used to go rollerskating in Lockport. We would always take out-of-town visitors to the locks to see the Erie Canal. We sometimes walked the towpath ourselves. And here it was on tv! Something was making Lockport famous. That episode is all but forgotten now. But that's okay. Lockport has something else to draw attention to this quaint WNY town: STOOGES. Stooges makes an incredible stuffed burger, and I'd be doing this place a huge disservice if I didn't mention their freakin' spicy mac n cheese. Lawwwddddd, that stuff is GOOD! Back to the burgers. Ya know how you sometimes order a burger and end up wearing half the toppings on your shirt or your pants? Well, Stooges *stuffs* the "toppings" into the burger so that they are no longer problematic. (Whhhaaatttt?) They have some delicious options for you to choose from, or you can even build your own. Let's get back to the mac. Their mac n cheese is glorious. They've got the mild version for people who can't take the spice, or you can live on the edge and order the one with the peppers (grab an extra beer to cool the burn). Hard to fit your mouth around. But absolutely delicious! My partner had the Cajun Alfredo burger (not pictured) it was fun to see actual linguine noodles stuffed in a burger lol. Day Two. I had the build your own Mac & Cheese. It's an absolute obscene portion for $15. I added Caramelized onion, pickles, roasted peppers, goat cheese, smoked Gouda, and bacon. It was so rich. Unreal rich. And the pasta was cooked to perfection. Run, don't walk, to Stooges. Everything is perfect. And the only flaw this place may have. Is that more people aren't talking about it! I've been wanting to try this restaurant for quite some time. A couple of weeks ago we finally did. I left a little disappointed. The chicken wings just weren't as good as I expected. We tried the chicken wing flight. We ordered 2 of them, a regular order of medium wings, and 2 of the weck and finger specials. I think the Cajun wings and bbq wings should be thrown on the grill, and that would have enhanced their flavor. Another thing that would have been helpful would be a bowl or small bucket to throw our wing bones in, being that we 40 wings on the table. The fries were not hand cut. Some of the pictures in the reviews show handcut. The fries that were served with the weck were definitely frozen fries. We tried their pretzels and enjoyed those and the dips served with them very much. Our server was a young girl, attentive and friendly. The restaurant is very cute! Living in WNY, there are plenty of places to grab a burger, but only a few grills up stuffed burgers. Stooges does that, and on Friday, reaffirmed to me that they're the best in the region, but also one of the better burgers you'll find in WNY. Three of us arrived around 5:15pm on a Friday in mid-April and were immediately seated, which was great. Our waitress came over with the menus and gave us a moment to decide what we were drinking after showing where the draft beer menu was. It didn't take us long to figure out what we wanted to drink, but deciding which burger to get (or build) took a little more time. Our waitress gave us a few minutes to figure that out. Overall, our waitress was very friendly and did a good job checking in with us. The only wrinkle was that we were going to have a second beer after our meals and when we tried to flag her down, she brought over the check instead, but I don't blame her - I think it was just a miscommunication and, if anything, the place was starting to fill in when we finished eating, so I'm sure it was a "gentle" nudge to free up the table for another group. But anyway, she was friendly and did a nice job checking on us throughout our dining experience. Compared to the last time I was here a few years ago (shameful it's been so long, I know lol), the service was MUCH better! Everything seemed to operate much more smoothly and our waitress was super friendly and easy-going. Our wait times were much more reasonable too and we never felt ignored. For my meal, I ordered "The Larry" from their house blend burgers section of the menu, grilled medium, on a brioche bug, along with a side of their sweet potato waffle fries, tossed in a brown-butter brown sugar sauce. "The Larry" is a beef burger stuffed with peanut butter, jalapeños, a jalapeño cream cheese, pepper berry jam, and bacon. This burger was sooo good! It was cooked perfectly and GENEROUSLY stuffed with the ingredients I listed earlier. The bacon and jalapeños added a nice crispy, crunchy texture with a little heat, along with the creamy and thick jalapeño cream cheese mixed in with their jam. The peanut butter helped balance it all out though so the spice-heat never overwhelmed. The brioche bun was toasted but was incredibly soft and almost buttery. To round out the meal, the sweet potato waffle fries were hot and very crispy. With that brown-butter brown sugar sauce though, it was almost like having dessert, which I was very happy with! They say it right on their menu, but it's the truth - portion sizes for their stuffed burgers are incredibly generous and you will not leave here hungry. I (always) have a big appetite so I finished my meal, no problem, and felt great, not too full. The other two couldn't finish their burgers and boxed them up and brought them home. Their prices are on the higher side, but worth the price for the quality and portions, in my opinion. Stooges has cemented itself as a great place to have a filling meal and have a good time. It's comfortable and clean inside and the staff were friendly and seemed to enjoy being there. Wait times for food were very reasonable. They also have a fairly active Facebook account, enticing me and countless others were burgers and wings and other delicacies. FOOD QUALITY: Solid A. Huge portion size. Very flavorful. Burger was super yummy. For a stinger sub burger, it could've been spicier. Still, very tasty. Sweet potato waffle fries were delicious, especially with few honey/brown sugar dip. I would recommend not using an entire stick of butter per order of fries, but I also finished the entire order, so... yum! The eggplant fries appetizer was enjoyed by the entire table. FOOD QUANTITY/VALUE: Holy. Crap. That's a lot of food. And for five people with non-alcoholic drinks, it was appx $14/person, with three boxes of leftovers. Is it possible to give a "0" review? This place is gawd awful. Seriously. On the positive side it looks to be clean and the decor is nice. When we went there were plenty of tables available and the waitress came to out table promptly to take our drink orders. Our party of 3 ordered two of their monthly special for July, Dill Pickle Mac and Cheese and our 3rd member ordered the mac and cheese with bacon @ $10.00. We also had 1 order of french fries and an order of onion rings. The "special" dill pickle mac and cheese was like curly macaroni in a thin, barely cheese soup with diced dill pickles mixed in. It was weird and didn't resemble anything even close to mac and cheese. The bacon mac and cheese was something entirely different; made with the traditional elbow macaroni and something that resembled a cheddar taste -- was sticky and dry and looked to be a dish that had been reheated at least once, maybe twice. The person that ordered it tried her best to eat it and even asked if she could also have a few diced dills hoping the improve it...It just was NOT EDIBLE. All 3 of us tried it and agreed it was just terrible. I asked for a refund on that one and got it. Moving on: We asked for malt vinegar for the fries and were given and DISGUSING!!! bottle with maybe and inch of vinegar in the bottom and a whole bunch of gooey stuff growing in it and up the sides. Gave it to the waitress but received no apology just a different bottle. The onion rings were good and should have been for $12.00. None of us ate any of the food other than a few of the fries and the onion rings. Service was mediocre and that's being generous. On our $64.04 check I left a $5.00 tip but that was purely for the only positive part of out experience, the drink service. The clincher: I left the tip in cash on the table and used my CC for the bill. I also did as you would with a check and wrote Sixty Four 04/100 in cursive on the bill to prevent it from being changed or anything added to it. The waitress followed us out of the restaurant and stopped us on the side walk and asked me "what does this say"? I responded "sixty four" - She asked again, pointing at the check "No, what does this say?" and pointed to the words. Really interesting burgers and chicken parm (my favorite) sandwiches. Right on the bridge over the canal and steps away from one of our favorite ice cream parlors for dessert. Having a hamburger stuffed with mac and cheese, or other foods is pretty neat and makes for a tasty sandwich, and a unique experience. My favorite is the Chicken Parm, which has spaghetti in the middle of the chicken breast. Staff is really friendly and courteous.
