Order Numbers: 4850, 7015 & 14673 UPDATE…read more to resolve the below-mentioned issue regarding our hardwood flooring. On August 23, 2023, after several weeks we placed our initial order of approximately 3350 sq ft On September 27, 2023, the order was delivered to our new home. we noticed that the final quote submitted by Jim had changed from Light Rustic to Rustic without our knowledge or authorization. When we brought this detail to his attention, he assured us not to worry about the quote and that he was sure we received Light Rustic White Oak because that is what he communicated to the mill, and further, that Light Rustic is what he saw when he went to Saroyan to check on our order. Only later did he admit that it's possible a mistake was made somewhere and that he'd look into it. After months of back and forth with Jim, a trip to Saroyan in San Marcos to confirm how Light Rustic White Oak is represented onsite, as well as countless conversations and meetings at our house with other wood manufacturers, inspectors, professional installers/ refinishers and countless hours of researching, we felt confident that what we received was not what we ordered. We received a call from Jim saying that "there would be no cooperation from Saroyan to resolve the matter and that we were going to have to do what we needed to do". Being a single mother in a new home with her four year old and working full time this has been very painful and costly on my wellbeing. This is when we decided to drive up to Los Angeles and speak to the owners of the Saroyan company directly. We decided if they could show us the flooring we were sold, we would understand. We were then told by the two owners of the company, Saroyan Hardwoods that " I have no idea where this wood came from. We don't have anything like this. shocking as it was to hear the truth, we knew the wood was fraudulent. Despite the NDA they asked us to sign for a reimbursement of $28,000, I would stil come out of pocket another $96,266 to have that wood installed and finished. As consumers, we believe that both before and after the wood was delivered, we were guided by false and intentionally misleading information related to the BRAND, quality, the grade, the condition, and the manufacturing process of the wood we thought we were purchasing. Pictures or raw overage boards in our garage Accidentally cc'd on an internal email between Saroyan employees admitting the outsourcing and fraudulent flooring. Exhibit C3: Here is the final quote, 4850, that was sent to Tait on August 23, 2023 at 5:37pm, that reflects an unauthorized change to the words "Light Rustic" without any verbal or written agreement from us.

He had set me up for partial work and wanted to charge me to finish. Said it was my mistake not knowing his business. He said he would fix it and all I needed was to pay him. He had numerous fees in his bid that were unnecessary. Just to pad his already higher than anyone in the business for the same flooring. While this was more than a standard turnover, the project still should have taken no more than two months. Instead, it dragged on for several months. I ultimately fired them after repeatedly being charged for work I had not approved, being told crews were on-site when they weren't, and constantly getting the runaround on the project's status. After hiring a new contractor, he identified the source of a lingering urine odor within minutes - something that had gone unresolved for months because Manny was never on-site. The workmanship was also poor. I had to hire another contractor to redo the staircase. When I went to pick up the flooring, the shop let me know that they always had that flooring in stock. Jasmine spent almost a month telling me it was "ordered and on the way". Within one week of the tenant moving in, the upstairs shower leaked into the downstairs bathroom because the wrong shower valve had been installed, requiring remediation. I felt bad for the tenant, whose move-in had already been delayed by a month due to Jasmine promising the work would be done by a specific date and then having to extend the renovation. They also were not familiar with basic California smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector requirements, which I had to explain to them. A rule that Manny as a contractor and Jasmine as a project manager should know. As of today, they still owe the homeowner money for the remediation. Jasmine has sent photos claiming a check was mailed, but we've never received it. I stopped responding to her because I don't trust her. I hired them to make my job easier. Instead, I spent months correcting mistakes, disputing unapproved charges, managing delays, and ultimately hiring another contractor, who completed their mistakes and remaining work in less than two weeks. I would also like to note that their Yelp profile advertises "damage restoration" services, but that was not my experience. Their estimate included removing mold-affected drywall in a water heater closet. However, before I terminated their services, they told me that this was "not something they do."
