Too bad they care more about money than animals. Do not use this place and put them out of business. Two times now they have refused to help me a d my pets. Last week, I had a dog that got cut, and despite no one being in the waiting room, their vet couldn't spare 5 min to stitch up my dog. Today they refuse to refill the dog equivalent of ibuprofen for my 14yo bulldog who just needs some palliative care for the short time he has left. Not a narcotic, just ibuprofen...it should be over the counter but because the pet business is a multimillion dollar enterprise, they require an appointment...translation $200 for an anti inflammatory! Yesterday I called at 8am to bring my 17 yr old cat in to have her put down. Her kidney disease had gotten worse and she wasn't eating or drinking anymore. It was time to let her go. They told me they were booked and I couldn't bring her in until 4pm. Seriously? To make us wait all day to put a sick cat down is not only hard on my cat, but on us. It's a tough decision to make to let your baby go and then to make us wait until 4pm is inexcusable. We ended up taking her to Blue Pearl in Overland Park and they were wonderful, caring and compassionate. They used to be great when Dr. Miller owned the place but since he sold it, they went down hill. A couple of the vets were ok with another one of our cats but we won't be going back. We still have one 17 yr old cat and we will take her someplace else. read more

Rant! To doctor Brookshire's Raymore Vetranary Clinic! I do not often rant or rave much. But this situation pissed me off enough I'm here. Please forgive the long read. We been going to Dr.Miller and Dr. BAKER of Raymore veterinary Clinic for the better part of 10 years. Over the years, 5 different dogs. Have spent $1000's and always up front. Always up to date on there yearly's or close to it. Anyway, Dr. Miller sold and retired. Dr. Brookshire bought the practice. I've never met him. Not even a letter introducing himself as the new owner. No biggie but would of been nice. Anyway, took our 1 year old St. Benard to get neutered and some x-rays. Spent over $700. Paid at the end of the visit. 2 months later I get a letter in the mail effectively firing us as patients. Gave us our medical records(no x-rays though) and it said you'll have to find another vet??? That was it, no explanation. So I called. He was on vacation and would get back to me next week. 2 or 3 weeks have passed no call. The only thing I can think of was they wanted us to take a high end high dollar daily anti- inflammatory and I said Dr. Miller let us give one of our other dogs who died of hip dysplatia cheap meloxicam instead and it worked well.(they have the records to see that) I don't guess that went over well and 2 months later....... We'll now we're due for heartworm and flea meds. I call and say listen I don't want to be where I'm not wanted. But could you guys please refill our prescriptions for the month until we have more time to find a new vet. They refused. Your animals wellbeing comes second here, maybe 3rd. Pride and money seem to be #1 and #2 Im still awaiting a call from Doctor Brookshire. read more

I was satisfied with my previous vet in Blue Springs, so I was hesitant to switch to this closer vet in Raymore after moving to Raymore, but I'm glad I did! The staff is friendly, the facilities look decent, and they did great work with my husky's anesthesia and dental cleaning! They even called the next day to make sure she was doing well. This used to be the BEST veterinarian - we had to put our dog down about 3 years ago, and the staff was the absolute kindest. However, it must have changed management, because the last few times we've been in (with different dogs), the staff have been uncaring and dismissive. They seem only to want your money and not actually care about their clients of their clients' pets. There seem to be a lot more fees for things now, too. Definitely WOULDN'T recommend now. After having another experience with them (to get heartworm pulls for my dogs), I'm more convinced than ever that this is the absolute LAST place you should bring your pets! We inquired about bringing our dog in for some tummy trouble, and they asked that we bring a stool sample in (no problem, that makes sense). They then proceeded to tell us, no less than 3 times, that we would need to pay. We've never not paid, so I'm not sure where that urgency is coming from. But YIKES!!! When calling to get a euthanasia appointment for my very old deaf blind incontinent depressed dog I was told I would have to pay for a wellness check. Amazingly prompt and caring service from both Dr. Shane Berkshire and his staff! I would give them 10 stars if I could. I live in FL and was unfamiliar with the area, and thankfully Raymore Veterinary Clinic gave me a last minute appointment. Mom's kitty Tigger stopped eating after she had to go into hospice care when her terminal brain cancer progressed. I agonized for nearly two weeks trying to feed him everything I could think of, but I knew he wasn't well. Dr. Berkshire and his staff kindly helped me through having to make a difficult decision about Mom's kitty due to his age and health issues. I was already an emotional mess over Mom, and they definitely doubled as my therapist that day lol. They were a shining light for me in a time of darkness. I'm so grateful for that. This company no longer takes cash and I'm never going back. I have a right to not swipe my card. I called them to help my sick dog and explained she was in so much pain. I have never had a problem with this Vet. I used the online appointment app and we had confirmation within 12 hours. They got both my cats in at the same time so I did not have to go back and forth. All staff was nice and my kitties were well treated. They have been there for their spaying and neutering as well as shots. The price of everything they have had is reasonable. read more

Used to love this vet when Dr. Miller and Dr. Baker were there. When Dr. Miller retired and sold the practice to Dr. Berkshire things changed. We had been going there for twelve years. The staff was very friendly and really cared about our babies. Prices were very reasonable too. Unfortunately now the staff is not friendly to me nor to my dogs. Prices are way too high and the practice seems to only be interested in one thing - money! Just had my beloved Shih tzu spayed. Took her in at 7:30 am as instructed. Had to wait for receptionist to arrive and unlock door. when she opened the door, there was no greeting. She didn't acknowledge me or my dog. once she got behind the counter, she begrudgingly said, "mornin' who are you?". No smile, nothing. Took us into an exam room. Vet came in, at least I think she was a vet as she didn't introduce herself. She took my baby. I asked if someone would call after surgery and let me know how she was doing. She said yes and that was that. I was almost afraid to leave her. She did call that afternoon to say my baby had been in heat so the surgery took longer. We had seen no signs of her being in heat. When I picked her up that afternoon, the cost was well over $100 more than the estimate. When my last dog was spayed three years ago, when she came home you'd never know she'd had surgery. This time my baby is very lethargic and whines. She came home with pain pills and sedatives to keep her quiet and, of course, the Elizabethan collar to keep her from licking the stitches which she can't seem to reach anyway. I certainly don't want her to be in pain but do want her back to normal as soon as she feels like it. I'm looking for a new vet in the Belton area but am willing to travel a bit for a warm, compassionate vet who isn't in it just for the money. We all have to earn a living but these are our babies and we don't all have unlimited funds. Retirees, as I am, generally live on a fixed income. if you're looking for a vet for your babies, I wouldn't recommend you stop here. read more

Dr. Garry Miller is a great vet! Our dogs love him and so do we! The difference between Dr. Miller and other vets we have visited is that he truly cares about the well being of your pet 100% of the time. The staff is always very friendly and helpful. DR. Miller Really loves his job! he really love the animals too. when my dog decided he wanted to try out my hart pressure meds, like 10 of them. Dr Miller was very com, cool and collective. I was very glad he was because I was NOT!!, he instructed me on what I needed to do. and it worked. I still have Thor, who has saved my life more times then he has saved mine. Thank you Garry!! I just came from this place and we have used them for years. Dr Miller was the best. Now this place is just gouging you for money. I have no problem paying for services for my fur baby at all. However, when I asked if I could go ahead and pay my bill while I was waiting and the young lady said sure, I wondered why she had to go to the back to stand around with 3 others while my fur baby got her nails clipped. I could not check out because you what wanted to see if i am supposed to pay more? What was the reason? Yes i heard everything thru that door Then I was told if I didn't tranquilize her they would not be able to provide services for her. Question if your kid is excited and not acting quiet and calm do you tranqulize them before they go to see their pediatrician. Has my fur baby ever been aggressive to your staff? Has anyone ever been bitten by her? The answer is a big ol fat NO. ENJOY THAT 35.00 it's the last you will get from me. They also told me her oxygenation was poor but no one told me her 02 levels. Said it was best for her to tranquilize her. Here's a tip if you want to be a vet be a vet. Care about the fur babies and all that come with it. read more
