We had a great brunch here today. The omelettes were fluffy and fresh, potatoes hot, and service was excellent. Carlos our waiter joked around with us and added a special touch to our dining experience. More expensive than typical diner but the quality of food and service makes it worth it. read more

Cute brunch place in Ridgewood. It's slightly overpriced but manageable. I got the salmon benedict. It wasn't over an English muffin like a typical eggs benedict but instead over like a hash brown and over arugula. Not your typical combo but I did appreciate the variety from your typical benedict and liked how it was slightly more healthy. Atmosphere wise it's very cute inside and a nice place if you want to grab brunch with your girlfriends. Really appreciate good brunch places in jersey cause there typically aren't a lot of choices in the area. The staff were also super professional and nice :) read more

Nestled right in Ridgewood center, Raymond's is a decent option for any meal of the day. I'm a particular fan of the all-day breakfast, especially their stellar omelette. I'm not sure what they're doing with their eggs, but they have elevated the omelette to something truly exceptional. They have a nice selection of salads, and I appreciate that they don't drown them in dressing. There are vegetarian and vegan options. Seafood, chicken, meats are all regulars on the menu, and they do a nice job with the daily specials. They make a better than average burger. In what has seemingly become industry standard, just about all add-ons to the burger come at an additional charge. I'm not usually a big fan of shoe string fries, but the well-done rendition here is quite good. Just like the Montclair location, the chairs are an orthopedic nightmare. They're going for some kind of kitschy decor here and the chairs fit that bill. Unfortunately, they leave my back in knots. Like most of Ridgewood center, parking can be a challenge. Be prepared to wait for lunch and Sunday brunch. read more

I'd been hearing about the greatness of this place from my friends up north for a while. Finally, I got to get involved in a Raymond's Breakfast. Literally everything on my plate(s) was delicious: from the homemade chorizo and cheddar omelet to the fluffy pancakes. The service was great and we had good seating outside as well. Easily one of the better breakfasts I've had. I will be going back to Raymond's whenever possible. The only drawback is that I wanted to try everything on the menu. read more

Decided to give Raymond's a try on my last visit to Ridgewood and I was somewhat underwhelmed with the experience. It's not to say there is something wrong with the restaurant, but I also got the impression that nothing was terribly right. First, the restaurant seems to have a bit of an identity crisis, appearing to be position somewhere between a classic Jersey diner and a casual restaurant. The ambience felt like a toned down Johnny Rockets. Although it was only 5pm and not terribly busy, we waited approximately 15 mins after being seated to be seen by the waitstaff. After the initial hiccup, service was reasonably fast and attentive. The dinner menu was surprisingly small with only a limited number of options. I selected the Macaroni & Cheese with bacon entree. It was good, but the portion size felt small for the price. My companion ordered a Cobb salad, which she too felt was a small portion size for the price. Also, the salad had corn and olives that were not listed on the menu (she dislikes olives)! All in all, Raymond's did not leave much of an impression. It's pretty good food in a good environment, but not much more than that. read more

When moving from Sacramento to NJ in fall of 2012 we looked at Montclair and ate breakfast at the Raymonds location there and though "wouldn't it be great if we lived next to a place like this?" We ended up in Ridgewood and sure enough Raymonds opened their second location there soon after! Favorite dishes. Pan seared salmon, always expertly prepared with really crispy skin. GF's favorite, Shrimp and grits. Really, I'd never been into shrimp and grits before but this became my "go to" thing to get there. Super tasty and the grits are the best I've ever had, though admittedly I'm a Yankee and have only had grits at like 3-4 other places, so take my review of them with a grain of salt. I also love the atmosphere; seltzer bottles and subway tiles and tin ceiling. Love it. Deserts are always good too. Get the pie. One of the downsides to this place are that their seating doesn't make sense some times. One time the GF and I were seated in the back when the front was almost empty, so even through it was a beautiful sunny day out, we were in this darker more intimate part of the restaurant. Not an issue during dinner but at lunch time you want to get some sunlight. read more

Nice location and loved out doors dining (rare outside of nyc). The Norwegian Benedict and chicken sandwich were both ok... the chips that came with the sandwich was super soggy, like waters been dripped over it, so the waiter brought us fries... but the fries were also disappointing - all ends and over cook (yuck!). The wait staff were not organized, we had 4 different ppl serving us. Not impressed... read more

Visited for the 1st time for Brunch, my daughter suggestion. Absolutely enjoyed the Chilaquiles brunch special. The avocado toast was great as well as the Mexican Burrito Bowl. Our waiter, Carlos did a great job with making our experience as enjoyable and safe as possible.  The staff was also consistently cleaning tables and chairs.  Parking is available all throughout Ridgewood for a small fee and payable through an app.  Definitely a great place for brunch. read more

This is one of my favorite lunch or breakfast spots in the whole area. Great food any time of day. Indoor and outdoor seating. An old time feel and good location read more

This place has yet to disappoint. My wife and I have been to Raymonds 3 times in the past 6 months and can honestly say that the food has always been fantastic. I had the grilled ham & cheese with a fruit salad side. The grilled ham & cheese was so tasty, I wish I could drive over there right now for more. Even more surprising was the fruit salad. The fruit was so perfectly ripe and sweet that it makes my mouth water just writing this review. Of course I had to have desert. Love their pumpkin cheesecake. Much better than Cheesecake factory's. Can't wait to go back. read more

Nice spot for breakfast or lunch. I highly recommend ordering the French toast. Yummy! The booths are not comfortable but, then again, they probably don't want you to hang out all day. Where Raymonds is lacking is in the "special requests" arena. Being one of those needy "substitute-this-and-put-that-on-the-side" patrons, I was met with more of a sigh than service with a smile. Regardless, I will most likely be back. I enjoy their omelets and French toast...did I mention the French toast?! -MJ read more

I Came here the other day with my dad. I really liked the breakast. My chorizo with vermont cheddar cheese omellete was great. The potatoes were delicious and they don't give you cheap white toast. They give you 7 grain ezekiel toast. Big portion and delicious. The decor was nice. The music soundtrack was great haha 80's music while i enjoy a delicious breakfast in the middle of Downtown Ridgewood? Niceee. i will definately come here again only reason why i didn't give it 5 stars was because the table was tiny and a bit shakey. i wish my cup of coffee was bigger. This will be my go to spot when i come out of work in the morning read more

Raymond's does a very solid brunch. I came here this weekend with my parents and wife. Although the place was packed, it was large and there was a lot of turnover, so we were seated quickly. The decor is clean and retro. The main room is done in white subway tiles and the back room is old mirrors and leather. A wall of colored glass soda bottles separates the two. There is also a decent amount of outside seating with a nice view of the park across the street. The food was very good. You won't be blown away by Raymond's creativity, but all of their dishes are well made and fresh, and they do have a few interesting items. I got an omelette with goat cheese, mushroom and caramelized onion (I picked my own ingredients), with a side of chorizo. (The chorizo was loose - had I known that, I would've just had it in the omelette.) The omelette was fluffy, well formed (not the mishmash of egg and ingredients you sometimes get) and cooked perfectly (no burn marks). Everything tasted good and fresh, especially the chorizo, which was well spiced. The omelette came with "artisanal" style whole wheat toast and cubed fried potatoes. Although I usually like my home fries diner style, Raymond's did a nice job of getting the potatoes crispy. Mom and dad split pancakes. I had a bite - they were light and fluffy with a noticeable vanilla flavor (maybe overkill if you ate a whole order, but having just a bite, it was a nice touch). The side of sausage that came with was sliced in half and grilled. My wife got brioche with egg, cheese, asparagus and tomato over a bed of spinach. Everything looked good and fresh, especially the veggies (which I tasted). The coffee was really fresh and flavorful, and they leave you a small carafe for your table. My only knocks were: (1) menu could stand to be a little more creative for brunch (more like what you would find in the City); (2) service could've been better (slightly standoffish and brought us a side of sausage when we ordered Canadian bacon (they were out - instead of asking if we wanted something else, they just brought a replacement)). All in all, a very good choice for a tasty casual brunch, but not enough menu selection that I will be coming back immediately. read more

I came here with family for breakfast. The restaurant had a retro/classic 1970s' feel to it. There was a lot of people when we went in in the morning, but got seated right away without waiting for seats. The staff was friendly and the place was clean and neat. There are a lot of tables for all sorts of groups - big or small. I had an egg any style with side order of sausage. The eggs were done just the way I like it - sunny side up. The sausage was a little over cooked in my taste. Some parts of it was burnt. The home fries were good - nothing special here. The portion size is decent and it wasn't too pricey. I would come back here if I was in the neighborhood. read more

So this little dinner gets really busy, so it gets a bit tight when it comes to seating, it's is a bit uncomfortable. Food is ok not too many options for breakfast other than the usual dinner food, but for the price definitely not wow. The only thing I like coming here is for the cappuccino, and toast which for some reason I really like their multi-grain toast (which btw that's the only bread toast they have) To sum it up this place is just ok. read more

Being that Raymond's has been closed through this pandemic and FINALLY opened we couldn't wait to order our family favorite breakfast. There are ZERO restaurants in the area that serves French toast the way they do. Well.. upon opening the box we checked our receipt and checked the menu because something HAD to have been ordered incorrectly. The French toast was nothing like it used to be. It's a typical diner French toast.. nothing special. So we called to ask.. and if I were not to ask if they changed the recipe, it wouldn't have been disclosed. Apparently there's a new cook so recipes have changed.. this French toast isn't the same bread, isn't cooked the same (it's cooked on a flat top and doesn't have that outer crunch from being dipped in a fryer), but some how they're still charging the same.. what a disappointment. Sounds like we'll have to find a new breakfast spot.. read more

Raymond's - Comfort Food Near Me - Ridgewood, New Jersey

This was my first visit to Raymond's. It was a Thursday at noon. Usually crowded on a weekend, there were tables available this rainy weekday. I ordered my meal from the Specials section. I listened to Psycho Killer from Talking Heads while enjoying my grilled swordfish BLT with chips and Concord Grape Phosphate soda. It was too loud to make out any of the other songs. Simona checked in on me to make sure everything's alright. The interior could use a renovation since much of it is falling apart but my focus was on the food. It was a delightful meal and I even ran across somebody I know. It must be the place to be. read more

What a great place to have Sunday brunch! If you're in a hurry, you might get stuck with a wait when it's busy, but if you're just looking to take it slow on a weekend, this place is perfect! The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is great... lots of sunshine pouring through the windows on a sunny day makes for the perfect setting for fun conversations with your friends and family! I had the breakfast burrito deconstructed with the tortilla on the side, and my friend had an omelet. We both loved our food and our coffee and latte was great too. No complaints! 4 stars instead of 5 because it's not quite "the best breakfast in the world" lol and the prices are on the higher side, but I think that's totally worth it for the atmosphere and location! read more

Use to live in Montclair and loved going to Raymond's religiously but since November I had moved back to Bergen county only to recently remember that Raymond's was in Ridgewood! Came here for lunch with a friend. She had an omelet and I had the tuna salad on sourdough. It was very good! Tuna salad had tomato and lettuce on sourdough. Came with some sliced pickles and a small cabbage salad. The service was good. Waiter came promptly and came back after we asked for a few more minutes. The food came out very quickly! We both enjoyed our meals and the price was great!! Perfect for lunch or breakfast, or breakfast at anytime of day. read more

The food was actually a 4. I had a veggie burger made of beet and chard with pepper jack cheese. So filling, and that was without the bun. With the bun, it would have been huge! Everything else we ordered was good, too - vegetarian chili, mac and cheese, chicken soup, breakfast blt, chicken sandwich, grilled cheese, and hummus (there wee a lot of us). The drinks were super tart, and I definitely wouldn't order them again. All in all, it was great diner type food with a much nicer ambience. But the service was so lacking. Our server was completely inattentive. She was so slow that I have to take away a star from the whole experience. read more

I love love love this place and frequent it. Yes it's always packed and loud, but with quality food and friendly service it's a downright must. I've been to both locations and slightly prefer this one, although the menus are the same. They constantly change their specials, and while I have yet to try them for dinner, I can't imagine it would disappoint. My go to meal is the breakfast burrito bowl with rice, beans, roasted corn, cheese and poached eggs. And avocado! Does it get better? Nope. Their omelettes are big and fluffy and super filling. Last time I got toast I asked for jelly and was brought a mug sizes tin of strawberry jam with a cute little spoon; this was heavenly. My hubby loves their veggie sandwiches, although we were disappointed to find they won't serve it at breakfast even thought it's bread tomatoes and sprouts, all items available for breakfast. Drink wise, get the Belgian hot chocolate with homemade marshmallow, it's sinful and decadent. The decor alone is gorgeous, a mix if 50s diner and 20s art deco subway tile and glassware. I love this spot and intend on becoming a regular. Home fries, a solid 10. read more

I've eaten here before and as usual they didn't disappoint!!! After having made reservations at Piccolo Bistro for 7:30 at 9:00 we still hadn't received our dinner. Out with the fam for a nice meal after visiting mom at the nursing home we were looking forward to a good meal. Well, we walked out, which is something we never did before and walked right on over to Raymond's!! We were greeted by a friendly staff and our night turned completely around!!!!! As if a nursing home visit isn't stressful enough!! I've been to both the Raymond's in Montclair and Ridgewood, I think I enjoy the newer location more. Great breakfast at a reasonable price. Check out the French toast, it's the best I've ever had. Everything I've tried was delicious. I'll definitely be back, I hear they have good burgers and I'd like to try one next time I go. Light years better than the country pancake place down the road. Raymond's ruins Mother's Day breakfast for 2021. You'd think the management / ownership would have half a clue that Mothers Day was going to be a total zoo. Well, it sure was a total zoo, I ordered for pick up at 8:15am, was quoted 30 minutes for pick up. 90 minutes later, I'm still standing here and no one has a clue of how much longer it will be. I used to work at a restaurant in Ridgewood. I moved to central Jersey two years ago, and the other day I went up to visit. During the car ride I though, "Perhaps I should have suggested we go to Montclair, because I'm craving Raymond's." Oh my goodness was I happy when I saw they built one in Ridgewood. I Seriously love the food here. I highly recommend this place. I was a waitress, and it seems like the people who dislike this place, are the people who dislike EVERY place. The wait staff was crazy attentive, and the food is amazing. I got the Vegetable Baguette and fries, and my mouth was so happy. My boyfriend got the fish and chips and said it was the best he's ever had (he seriously always orders fish and chips). Anyhow, the environment is quaint and the food is delicious.
