I am not one to write lengthy reviews, but I was so impressed by RayCo Plumbing that I feel it is important to write a review detailing all of the company's qualities. I woke up one Monday morning to find a large puddle inside my house, easily 2 gallons of water. I panicked, realizing that this is a serious problem since the puddle was nowhere near a sink or other obvious water source. I quickly searched Yelp for plumbers and narrowed my choices down to 4 companies. A couple of them said they didn't have anyone available to come out to my house until the end of the week. The other 2 (one of them RayCo Plumbing) offered to come take a look at the problem that day. Brandon and Cyrus from RayCo arrived a lot sooner than I expected. I was immediately impressed by their polite, respectful and pleasant demeanors. They inspected the plumbing of the entire house and then gave me their impression and recommendations. Soon after their visit, I received an email with an electronic document detailing the proposed work and estimate. The other plumber came 5 hours after the promised time and acted as if I was wasting his time. He came rushing into my house, took a quick look at the puddle and only the surrounding area (the corner where the water was accumulating). He said that to get to the source of the leak he would have to jack hammer through the concrete foundation and needed to do this right away or the pipe could burst and I would have a bigger problem on my hands. Naturally I was panicking but tried not to show it and told this guy that I would have to consult my insurance company first. As soon as the second plumber left, I accepted the proposed work offered by RayCo and I am so glad that I did because there was no need to go through the foundation. RayCo saved me a lot of money and hassle by taking the time to do a thorough investigation (thanks to Gary and his leak detection expertise). In addition, every time they came out to do work, they cleaned up any mess that resulted from their work, a sign of true professionalism. The pride they take in their work really shows in their workmanship. Lastly, even before deciding to hire RayCo for the job, Gary (the owner) offered a lot of helpful advice which helped me to keep calm and listen to the voice of reason (which saved me from hiring the guy with the jack hammer). read more

We recently had what we had thought was a minor bathtub repair; i.e. our tub turnoff valve fell off and needed to be replaced so we called RayCo Plumbing. My sister had used them a couple of months ago with excellent results. In her case, she had actually called another plumbing company first. Plumbers from that company could not fix the problem and referred her to RayCo. That was enough of a recommendation for me! Gary came to check out our problem on 2/8/16. In addition to the valve that needed to be replaced, he alerted us to several other issues -- our shut off valve outside our townhouse was overgrown with roots and our toilet has a hairline crack in it. We are following up with our association on the shut off valve and will replace the toilet sometime in the near future. We were grateful to Gary for not pressuring us to replace the toilet now. In his words, "As a good plumber, I need to let you know about these things, but it's up to you to decide what you want to do." He then advised he would hunt for our replacement valve and return in a day or two. When he returned on 2/11 and began the work, he found that there was more damage. He explained that the job was bigger than anticipated -- the marble shower wall would need to be cut to access the valve and piping; then a new shower head, arm, trim plate, tub spout, control handle and repair plate would need to be installed. He gave us a verbal estimate for the work, most of which was completed the following day by Richard and Brandon. As he was leaving, Brandon explained that he would be back on Monday (after attending a funeral) to install the tub spout. I reminded him that Monday was a holiday (Presidents' Day), but he said not to worry, he would come by to finish the job. And he did!!! We are more than satisfied with the work that was done and the price that we paid. For me, a female jack-of-no-trades, I have no clue as to what a job like this entails. So I had to go by my intuition -- which said -- RayCo is made up of good people, who do good work -- and it's now confirmed. read more

I highly recommend Rayco Plumbing because 1) I found the operator, Richard Oshiro very cordial and pleasant. He explained the services I requested, "they can do". 2) Because Richard sensed I was desperate, he squeezed me in a couple days after the initial phone conversation. 3) Upon Greg's (plumber) arrival, he was prompt and very courteous. We began going over all my plumbing issues which were a bunch. Because some of my issues included replacement of the kitchen sink faucet, reverse osmosis tank and filters, he allowed me time to special order these items and call when items received. Greg returned and tackled each task with precision. As an aircraft inspector by trade, I can detect confidence and skill in a craftsman which Greg possessed while knocking out each task one-at-a time. At one point, I thought I'd be ripping out the#2 bathroom shower but, because of Greg's skills, it was avoided, Whew! The job took several days only because we needed extra parts that we depleted from his truck. Overall, I was so amazed and very happy that all plumbing issues were complied with. My hat goes off to Rayco. Thank you very much, Richard, Greg and the repair cost was very fair. read more

I needed a number of jobs done at my house and most of them were done. The plumbers were very polite and conducted themselves professionally. However, the plumbers failed to fix our dual flushing toilet. I called them and they said they'd be by to fix it for me but never showed up. Time went by and I called them again. By this time, they forgot who I was so two plumbers came to my house to inspect the problem. They claimed to need a part which they would order and then return to fix my toilet. Weeks, then a month went by and they never returned. I called them and asked if there was a problem. Possibly they didn't know how to fix a dual flushing toilet. The man said of course we know how to fix a dual flushing toilet. He said he'd send someone over as soon as they got the part. They never called to schedule a time and they never returned my phone calls after that. Couldn't they just be upfront with me and tell me why they couldn't fix my toilet? I'm not a difficult client - I promise. With all the good reviews this business had I picked them, but simple courtesy was lacking. read more

Wonderful experience today with Rayco Plumbing. Brandon called right away to let me know he would be at my apartment around 9:00 a.m. due to some traffic. I really appreciate that he took the time to call me. Once Brandon arrived he introduced himself in a polite manner. He came into the apartment and made friends with my dogs. He even took the time to talk to my dogs, pat them and even give them treats that I provided. He then went into the bathroom and fixed our leaking shower. Once he was done he called me into the bathroom and explained to me what he had done and even showed me the parts that he removed and explained how the leak may have started. I really appreciate Brandon taking the time to explain things and even making us feel like he really cares about us. Also, Gary is the man I spoke with to make the appointment. He was really fast at returning my calls and e-mails. I got a quote right away. THESE GUYS ARE THE BEST!!! I CAN'T SAY ENOUGH GREAT THINGS ABOUT THEM!!! Our plumber recommended them to find the leak at the house because even after my husband and our plumber crawled all around under the house, they still couldn't locate the leak. Rayco wasn't sure if they could come over that day so while we were waiting for them, we decided to try another (not recommended) leak detecting company. $400 and 3 frustrating hrs later, we still weren't any closer to locating the leak. Rayco (Gary & Ray) came by that same afternoon after the other guy had left and went thru the property in a very logical and systematic manner and were able to isolate the leak!!! Their calm and professional demeanor was such a breath of fresh air. We knew we were in VERY competent hands. Rayco will definitely be our "go to" company for any future plumbing leaks!!!! read more

I am retracting my 1 Star and giving Gary a 5 Star rating. He has made things right and so will I. Gary personally gave me a call and apologized about the service I received from his technician and reimbursed me for charges that did not resolve or correct my plumbing issues. As Gary stated and showed me, it's not about the money, but all about taking care of the Customer and Customer Satisfaction. It clearly shows that Gary is a conscientious person and truly cares about his Customers. I believe in second chances and will keep RayCo Plumbing in mind the next time I need a plumber. His action to reach out and give me a call really showed me that he truly cares about his customers, putting them first, even if it was after the fact with me. Called RayCo Plumbing this morning and Richard and Greg came quickly to fix our plumbing problem. It turned out to be a very difficult job as our house is almost 50 years old and the piping was not done correctly back when they built the house. I would have to say that they tried every possible way to snake every drain and did not give up. They finally went up to the roof and was able to clear the drains that was causing the tub and toilets to back up. Thank you so much Richard and Greg for fixing our problem and being so persistent in finding a solution. Called RayCo, all workers assigned but someone would call me. Richard Oshiro called within the next 5 minutes. He felt this was a health and safety issue and made a adjustment to his schedule to fix our problem. Arrived within the next 2 hours and problem resolved within an hour. Gary embodies the aloha spirit! Great response time from this company- I called on a Sunday, left a message, and got a call back first thing in the morning on Monday. Gary made it a priority to work around my schedule to take a look at my garbage disposal. He gave me great info on possible solutions on new disposals, but when he came to check it out, he discovered there were just rocks stuck in the blades! He cleared it out and didn't even charge!
