I recently purchased a pair of Ray-Ban sunglasses from the Newport Beach store on February 22. At the time of purchase, I was clearly told that I had a 45-day return period. After a short time, I noticed small marks on the lenses, which appeared to be a product issue. On March 14, while I was near Venice Beach, I stopped by the Ray-Ban store there to process a return. Unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing. First, the store manager/owner immediately accused me of wearing the sunglasses the entire time, which was simply not true. The glasses were barely used, and the marks were the reason I came in. Second, he even attempted to clean the lenses himself but was unable to remove the marks, clearly showing that the issue was with the product itself. Third, he complained that he would be "taking the hit" because I was returning the sunglasses to a different Ray-Ban store, which should not be the customer's concern if the brand offers a 45-day return policy. Finally, he claimed that their system was not working properly and refused to process the return, leaving me with defective sunglasses and no resolution. Overall, this was a very disappointing customer service experience. Ray-Ban markets itself as a premium brand, but the service I received did not reflect that at all. Came in on a late Thursday afternoon to try on the RayBan Meta glasses. I walked in, yet no one greeted me nor said anything. Mind you, there was only one other customer there and two employees - one was assisting the customer but literally looked at me and looked back at their customer without acknowledgement, while the other was behind the till. Either of them could have literally just said "hi" or "hi, we'll be right there" but I kind of got some not-so-friendly and unwanted vibes, so I sucked it up because I came here for one reason - to try on the Meta glasses. And while I tried it on myself (without any help), someone finally acknowledged me after a few minutes. I knew exactly what I wanted after trying a few variations so I just ordered them at the store. I've had two pairs of Ray Bans that I was about to toss out because one of them (Aviators) was missing the little rubber nose piece and the other (Wayfarer) had a busted left eye piece. I've had both of them for years -literally like 10 years- I LOVE both styles and both are truly classic so I've kept them thinking I'd figure out what to do with them at some point. I was just about to throw them away because I figured I held onto them long enough, when I decided to Google "how to fix" Ray Bans. Good 'ol Googly moogly set me in the direction to the "nearest store" which I had no idea even existed! I called the Venice location and was told I could go online to purchase the glass replacement pieces and they would put them in the frame and the for the other, I could come in & have the nose piece fixed for free. WHAAAAAAAAAT?!? Hot diggitty!! Had I known this was an option I would have fixed them yearrrrrrs ago! I went onto the website, ordered those babies and as soon as they arrived I took my hiney right on down to the Ray Ban store to get my oldies lookin new again. The salesperson working was unable to put the new glass into the frames and I had to hang out for a while until the manager Chris got back to see if he was able to work some magic. THANK GOODNESS I waited because Chris put some MAD elbow grease in an effort to get the new glass pieces into the frames and was successful which meant I could wear them again!! Happiest girl ever!! Man, I missed these shades! SO HAPPEH I held onto them instead of tossing them out. This review goes to the manager, Chris. I concur with all of the positive and upbeat reviews about Chris. He really goes out of his way to help people and wants new customers to have a "positive 'Ray Ban' experience," to use his words. I originally called the Ray Ban store at the Grove, since that location is a little closer to where I live. I had found a pair of sunglasses on their website that I wanted to purchase. However, when I called the Grove location to ask a few follow up questions about the glasses I had found, the person with whom I spoke, Tre, that store manager, was very rude. (The yelp reviews at that location will bear this out). I was pissed off when I got off the phone with Tre. I considered just chalking it up and not buying glasses from Ray Ban. Fortunately, I decided to call the Venice location before throwing in the towel. When I called the Venice location, I spoke to Chris and he went above and beyond. I wanted to put prescription lenses in the sunglasses I liked that I had found online. I sent Chris my prescription. Unfortunately, my prescription is out of range for the Ray Ban glasses that I found online. Accordingly, Chris spent time on the phone discussing other options with me. Chris explained that my regular optician could probably fill the prescription. Ray Ban just has certain limitations. He suggested buying the frames I liked and letting my regular optometrist put lenses in those frames. He also texted me pictures of other glasses that are in range and in which Ray Ban could put in lenses with my prescription. He also suggested bringing in Ray Ban frames that I already had and putting prescription lenses in those frames. The point is, Chris went out of his way to give me good customer service and to try and help me find an alternative that would work for me. Talking with Chris changed my experience with Ray Ban. I will probably go to the Venice location and explore my options, even though the glasses I really wanted did not work out for me. I am looking forward to meeting Chris in person. Chris is my new "go to person" for Ray Ban glass wear. The Venice store is now my "go to location." read more

Bought a pair of glasses as a extra backup pair here. They are fine. But the case design is flawed. The button ripped the leather case after only light rare use (like I said, this is a spare pair of glasses). I brought them in. Asked them to replace the case. The manager starts telling me how long the case lasts depends on how rough a customer is with them. Rough? These are spare glasses and this is the case that is meant to protect them. This has been a terrible experience. The incorrect prescription was put in my sunglasses and this was verified by my eye doctor. They were sent back but there was another problem and they were then delayed two more weeks. Now having a problem getting the refund. The situation is still not resolved. read more
