I've always liked Ray-Ban, so this was honestly disappointing. I went into the SoHo store for a super simple repair--just replacing the nose pads. At first, they told me it would take 2-3 weeks. Then suddenly it could be done the same day... then "actually, tomorrow." It just felt all over the place. No clear answer, no ownership--just constant back-and-forth. As someone who's come back to the brand multiple times, I expected a much smoother experience. Love the product, but the customer service at this location really needs work. read more

Lethargic staff from the top down, zero knowledge of products, very uninterested in making a sale or engaging you as a customer, giving you input, showing alternatives/options. Is it poor work ethic? The staff here are very cold and unhelpful. I asked the floor manager about a coupon i found online to see if i could apply it during my purchase at the store. Once i mentioned the coupon he became cold towards me and told me that it would only apply online. Then did not help me pick out the glasses i was trying to find. He just turned his back and went into a conversation with another employee. I figured i would just order online so i wont have to deal with them. The order was made two days ago to pick up in person. The store has still yet to fill the order and the phone line that is provided online is cut off. read more

That said, although they are helping you, they do not seem that "nice" - rather instructing you on something .... attitude of ... as if you did not learn back in school. Not sure how the folks leaving the more recent reviews got such positive experiences. The majority of the sales associates made it really hard to keep wanting the glasses I walked in the door ready to buy. Their attitudes matched what older reviews say: their vibes communicated I was a low priority. The experiences were so frustrating that the one salesperson who was nice seemed like an exception. I'm literally going to pay more elsewhere for the glasses I need. Maybe Ray-Ban needs to treat their employees better so that the sales associates are happier to help customers. read more

i live in west texas and wento to NYC Soho just to check out the meta glasses. they convinced me to try them, i ordered and they shipped on time and i saw that i had made a mistake and i am 2,200 miles away... I found myself at this Ray-Ban because the logo on the left arm of one of my pairs fell out so I wanted to inquire if they could help me fix/replace the part. A first-world problem I know, but I needed to come down to SoHo for a few other things so I figured I would stop in. In terms of aesthetics, the store is beautiful - lots of exposed brick with an ultra modern design. There's two levels of displays, plus they offer eye appointments with an optometrist on-site. The space was also quite large too, with the look as a whole being very SoHo. I inquired to one of the employees about the issue with my glasses. I was told that they don't stock parts and that I would need to bring the glasses back to where I purchased them to see if they could be fixed. I was also told I could fill out a warranty claim, or purchase replacement parts for the glasses (both online). Fine - I sat myself down on one of the benches and purchased replacement arms online (I only purchased the glasses about a year ago but didn't have the receipt so I couldn't be bothered with the warranty claim). I'm giving Ray-Ban a 2 because I really feel they should offer more services to their customers. This is a corporate Ray-Ban retail store (in SoHo at that), so I feel that they need to differentiate themselves from the countless glasses retailers that sell the brand by taking better care of their customers. Ray-Bans are not cheap, so they really should offer in-house repairs, or at least offer the service of sending glasses out to be fixed; I was kind of left to handle things myself. So, I will be waiting for my new arms to arrive in the mail and installing them myself. This whole review might sound petty, but if I pay the money for Ray-Bans I expect better service from the company. read more

Probably one of the worse stores in the area that I've walked into. So I was passing by and then I say the Ray Ban sign and I wanted to stop in. But when I did, my perception of the shop and brand change. All of the staffs were arrogant, no one greeted me upon walking including the security at the door. I have to approach the staff to get any answers. Mind you the store was not busy at all, there were only 2 other customers in the store. Ray Ban, if you are reading this, I would fire or retrain all of the employees there. When I walk in someone should 1. Greet me, say hi, hello and smile 2. Because you are in NYC and gets lots of tourist and out of town people, your staff should ask, have you been here before? If yes then let them on their way and tell them that if they need help, they can always ask. If not then give them the run down of your small store and where each collections are. It is not easy to find collections in there. 3. If they have not been there before ask them if there's a specific collection that they are looking for. This is just good customer service. What I experienced was terrible. If you want to be a big brand like you are, start acting like it. read more

I'm writing this review because I'm procrastinating a paper for my American History course, so you already know my Ray Ban experience was kickass if the first thing that comes to mind when thinking of things to do before doing the things I need to do is to write a review of a store I visited once, two months ago. I wasn't aware that Ray Ban does free repairs on their glasses. Apparently every single person I talked to afterwards knew this, so I'm just stupid or something, but holy shit I was not expecting them to not charge me when I walked in to get those little rubber nose-rest-things replaced. BUT HERE'S THE KICKER. Not only did they replace those for free, the lady (thank you nameless lady) also fasted the arms of the glasses, which were super loose and I forgot to mention needed fastening, without me even mentioning them. That's some goddamn customer service, people. I must return to writing my paper, but before I go: Ray Ban, I love you. read more

I ordered my prescription glasses from here. They usually leave you alone to do your own thing until you're ready. The service was very helpful while ordering and picking up. Sometimes I come by to have my glasses adjusted because they slip down as they're the acetate kind and get wider over time. One employee kindly explained to me that my lenses contribute to the splaying out of glasses and make them wide. Also my head is wide. Today, an employee did a great job of making them tighter on my head but at last moment before walking out of store they felt a bit off/slanted. So a different employee approached me and offered help. I described my problem with one of the arms slanting more to the right. I should've went to the same woman to help. He was bending and twisting my glasses without heating them up properly, at one point just stood there and manhandled them. it's was just terrible. He brought them back all curved in weird spots when it was already perfectly shaped to my head. He was getting impatient and took my feedback in exaggerated proportions and totally straightened out the arms of the glasses. I tried them on and they were wider than when I brought them in. The worst part was he then continued to mansplain that was how I BROUGHT THEM TO HIM. That made no sense whatsoever!! At that point I was totally lost, He then continued to tell me how the shape of my face is wide and my cheekbones stick out. I desperately asked him if I could have someone take a look at it but as he answered, he turned around and tried to reshape my glasses again and didn't return them to me. Thankfully the original employee had happened to come by and she managed to fix everything right. I recommend sticking to one person that you trust that doesn't manhandle your glasses. Awful experience at this Ray Ban location. I stopped in today (12/26) around 12:30 PM with my fiancé to exchange/return a pair of sunglasses that I purchased online for him for Christmas. When we entered the store, we observed 3 employee and 1 security guard standing around talking to each other. No one welcomed us. There were no customers In the store. I caught eyes with a large gentleman and told him that we wanted to make a return and find a new pair. He asked us to follow him to the back where there was a register. He asked for my order number which he entered into his POS system. Once the return was processed, he told me to take a photo of the POS screen which had the return details. I then asked him where the sunglasses were in the store, noting we had never been there before and hoping to get some help. He relied, "The Justins are over there"...gesturing toward the front of store. Mind you, we just returned that style, so I wasn't sure why he was suggesting buying the same type? Never did the associate offer to help, make a suggestion for another pair, or act remotely interested in making a sale. We walked away from him, by the two other employees standing around talking, then walked downstairs where we observed an employee cleaning. The associate that processed the return, followed us downstairs, but never never said anything to us. We looked around for a minute or two before walking back upstairs to look one last time. The associate awkwardly followed us again. Again, no one helped us, acknowledged us or made us feel welcome. We eventually decided to get the heck out of the store as it was completely awkward. Quick trip to pick up some shades. Upon entry I was greeted by one of the very courteous staff members. Told her what I was looking for and she escorted me to the exact description of what i was looking for. After trying on a few pairs and conversation about the differences between some of the sunglasses...I decided on the black, polarized Justin's. The whole process took about 7 minutes max! Though the transaction was quick I didn't feel like the rep was rushing or pressuring me into pulling the trigger on something i wasn't sure about and I appreciated that. Sunglasses and I have a very difficult relationship. On the one hand they keep my eyes from burning up in the sun, and on the other, it can be pretty damn hard to find a pair that fit my gigantic head (my mom legit called me Mr Met growing up...love you mom). Enter the Ray Ban store in SOHO. I honestly wasn't sure if anything would suit me as I walked in, but luckily for me Jeanne was there to hook me up. She quickly put my fears of rejection aside, assuring me that there were other options than aviators for me*. We spent a good while going over the frames that would work, and she laid out all the different options that came along with them. She was in no way pushy, and even told me that the polarised lenses weren't totally necessary in the frames I chose (I went with them anyway). In the end I found a pair that worked perfectly for me, and I was super happy to have her helping me out (she even threw in a extra case for my girlfriends old pair of Ray Bans, as her case broke). One thing to note; while the 45 day return policy you get online absolutely applies here, you can't return online purchases from their website to the physical store. If you're at all unsure of the frames you want, I highly recommend stopping in. -------------- *I look disturbingly like the fat cop from Super Troopers in aviators. read more

My husband purchased a pair of Ray-Ban sunglasses as a gift for me when we went to St. Lucia from the Resort Gift Store as I forgot my sunglasses at home. Wonderful gesture, however, they had an imperfection on the polarized lens - poor quality for Ray-Bans. I reached out to Ray-Ban and they essentially told me they would not back their product. I actually reached out two other times and received NO response. Quite annoying as I have 4 other Ray-Ban glasses at home and have always received wonderful customer support. Needless to say I WILL NEVER PURCHASE THEIR PRODUCT AGAIN AND HAVE MADE IT KNOWN NOT TO BUY THEIR PRODUCT TO FRIENDS AND FAMILY. For such a large and established company, I would expect appropriate customer support. I received nothing close to this. All I asked was to exchange the glasses and was dismissed. I really needed a pair of sunglasses so I stopped in here to check it out with the intend to buy. They have a huge selection and very well designed store. If you were as clueless as I was trying to figure out what types of sunglasses there are, look to the right when you initially go into the store, that'll give you a rundown on what's what. They have staff behind every section if you need help. You can try on anything, just put them back where they belong. You'll be staring at yourself in mirrors all day long but once you find the perfect style, you need to find the perfect color. An extremely friendly staff helped me find the right pair. I forgot her name but it was this cute short girl (thanks!) She happily gave me a run-down on reflective vs non, different styles, when it was made, etc. I ended up getting the pair. BTW. Yes, this place is expensive. But you're not going into raybans to buy a cheap pair of sunglasses. Recommended for anyone looking to purchase a nice pair of sunglasses. I have a pair of Clubmaster sunglasses that I absolutely love and are at least 15 years old. Unfortunately, I recently damaged them in a bad biking accident and when I tried to get them repaired via Ray-Ban's website, I was unsuccessful because I could not provide the model/serial numbers to create a work order(the glasses are so well-worn/loved that all of the numbers on the interior had worn-off). Last night I popped-in to this store with my poor glasses and Elizabeth was able to find all of the necessary replacement parts to do a full repair on my glasses on-the-spot, free-of-charge. She was so kind and incredibly helpful. My Clubmasters are now good-as-new, and I am so grateful to Elizabeth for all of her time, caring and expertise.
